When this particular owner is involved in my appointments, I often feel rushed through my service rather than treated like a returning client. I've also repeatedly been placed with less experienced stylists, even after years of consistently supporting the business and spending a significant amount of money here. What is most disappointing is the overall attitude. My interactions with this owner have consistently felt cold, dismissive, and unaccommodating. After four years of loyalty, I don't expect special treatment, but I do expect the same level of care and customer service that any client should receive. The rest of the staff has always been kind, hardworking, and welcoming, which is why I continued coming back for so long. Unfortunately, the way one of the owners treats a longtime client, and the feeling that my continued business is simply assumed rather than valued, has really changed how I feel about a salon I once loved.

I had an appointment for a Saturday early afternoon blowout at the Lincoln park location for an event I had later in the day. I was coming in from out of town and unfortunately my plane was delayed and it was looking like I was not going to make the 1 pm appointment. I called at 9:50 am CT and was met with such disrespect on the other end of the call. I explained the situation and that I was not able to get out and they were deplaning us. I said I understand you have a policy but wondering if you can make an exception for a first time customer. He told me no and was immediately rude and passive aggressive with his tone. He told me that I should have read the policy which is to cancel in 24 hrs. When I said this is an uncontrollable circumstance I didn't know I would be stuck and unable to get there he said that's too bad and I should have ready the policy and "no one ever reads it obviously." I asked him to reiterate the policy to me three times to understand how much I would be owed. He kept telling me to read it and finally when I said is it full price I cannot read it as I made the appointment yesterday? And he said yes. I asked for his name and told him thank you. He said sorry sarcastically and scoffed and hung up. I was then charged the full blowout cost within 60 seconds of hanging up. I did not want to be a no show I wanted to be respectful and called as soon as I could. I understand a policy but I also would understand a customer calling four hours ahead of her appointment due to an uncontrollable circumstance and wanting to build customer loyalty. I overall simply do no understand the disrespect which I am most upset about. I would never recommend a place that was so disrespectful. Customer service truly is dead.

I was looking for full-coverage highlights that would make me as blonde as possible, and that's exactly what I got. For context: I have very long and thick hair. Over the years of getting highlights, I've found that it's hit or miss whether a stylist/salon can give me the full-coverage look I want, since for my hair that takes a lot of time (like 4 or 5 hours) and requires a TON of product. Not every stylist is willing or able to go above the standard number of foils and devote that kind of time, which is totally understandable. But it makes me all the more grateful/impressed when I find a stylist like Nick who is willing to go above and beyond (he spent more than four hours on my hair) to achieve a perfect end result. I was also shocked by how affordable the price was. In my opinion, the quality of Nick's work was on par with some of the most expensive highlights I've ever gotten (and I usually end up paying way above base price since most salons up-charge based on the amount of product your hair requires). But even including tip, the total I paid here was remarkably affordable compared to other salons I've been to.
