What a place. And that's a positive in nearly every sense…read more There's a certain charm about this place. It all depends on what you're looking for though. If you want out of the way and off the beaten path, this is your place. The current owners have done a great job of balancing the rustic with the modern. Moose Ridge is on top of a hill. The driveway is about a half-mile winding road bordering on a national forest. Because of that, once you get to the top of the hill, you'll get a nice view and a quiet place to relax. The property itself has a large cabin, a main building and a standalone cabin buried in the woods. The standalone is not visible to the other places on the property. It makes for a perfect getaway. The main building has a wide wrap-around porch good for relaxing, chatting with the owners or other guests, and making use of the wi-fi or the hammock. The view of the mountains and the woods is spectacular. Sitting on the porch, I could watch the wildlife make use of the salt lick while also checking out how the distant mountains changed in the light as the sun moves through the sky. Because the nearest town is about fifteen minutes away, there's a spectacular view of the night sky. The owners provide plenty of information about nearby hiking trails and activities. The area isn't as touristy as is found in the nearby National Park so if you want that, you'll have a drive to get to it. On the other hand, if you want to avoid the high-traffic tourist areas and want a quiet place as your starting point, Moose Ridge is a good choice.

There are not adequate enough words to explain how amazing this spot is…read more This is a B&B but also a safe spot to stop if you're passing through in an rv! If you're looking to park your rv in one of the most magical places in all of Montana, you can rent a spot for $35/$45 depending on what electrical you need. Full hook ups included. And the host, Jim, is the best part. But I'll get to that. The rooms at this beautiful B&B are only $100 a night. Jim could EASILY charge $300 a night. Breakfast is included, and you have a private balcony overlooking the most beautiful valley I've ever seen. There are only 3 rooms available. And despite knowing he could charge way more, Jim wants to keep the rooms affordable so that anyone can enjoy them. I was passing through in my RV and it was getting late and I saw his large parking lot. I called him in hopes that he would have a quiet spot for me to park in, and I was more than happy to pay him. The voice on the other end of the phone was warm and welcoming, and said "sure come on by!" I never imagined he would have full hook ups and give me a guided tour of his beautiful bed-and-breakfast that he built by hand himself. Jim is one of the kindest, most welcoming people I've ever met. He made me feel like I was talking to an old friend. In the morning we stood on the huge balcony and had coffee together, watching the birds flutter about UNDER us. That's how high up you are!!! I really hope to be passing through again sometime. Because I'd love to see him again. I hope you get to see this review Jim! Thank you for being so wonderful!!!!

It was so nice to sit and have a drink on the balcony with gorgeous views after a long day or hiking. The room is a great space and thoroughly cleaned. You can tell the bed and breakfast is well taken care of by the sweet owners, Joyce and Jim. We would recommend this stay 110%!

Each room is meticulously appointed with every possible item you could need or want, including a little mini fridge and freezer and Coffee and tea bar. The grounds are spectacular and include hundreds of flowering plants and herbs and huge old trees. At night, all you hear is the sound of the lapping of the lake. I spotted a few eagles from my balcony. Denise and Carey are wonderful hosts. When you arrive, Denise gives you a detailed overview of the property, the numerous amenities, and help with choosing a restaurant. After that, she leaves you to enjoy your privacy. If you need anything, all you do is text Denise and she responds right away. There are many places to hang out on the property, including on the dock, or on the patio in the shade, or on your balcony if you have the upstairs rooms. If you're wondering why there aren't many yelp reviews, that's because there are many reviews on Google. This is by far one of the nicest places I have ever stayed, and I highly recommend it. Be sure to stay for at least two nights! There's a ton of lake activities in the area, and you might just want to spend a day lounging around the property.
