Each of his crew was very respectful and demonstrated excellent craftsmen-ship. Shane's pricing was very reasonable and fair. He did a great job explaining his process and I can attest that his customer service and pride in workmanship was equally impressive. Shane saw very small areas for touch up that I had not noticed, and I am very picky. He had these re-done without any prompting from me. Great pricing, excellent customer service, and a beautiful finished exterior on our home cannot be beat! We will use Performance Painting again and recommend their services without any hesitation. Plus, Shane is a great guy with a good sense of humor!

He made a VERY competitive quote, and won the business of myself and my 2 neighbors! I was impressed with his kindness, professionalism and his quality work, so I asked if he was interested in more work - a full interior paint. Again, very quick with a super competitive quote - and the job was done quickly and professionally. Charles is a versatile worker with many skills. He fixed a roof leak for me, re-drywalled some areas from water damage, and textured/painted some work that another contractor didn't do such a great job on. I HIGHLY recommend working with Charles - and keep him in mind for future work. Charles is my go-to!! Thanks Charles!!

He came all the way down from Lynnwood to check out the part of the project we needed him to take on -- drywall installed, other existing drywall repaired, taping, mudding, sanding, texturing, priming, and painting. He had SUCH reasonable rates and was so nice. We immediately booked him. Didn't even ask anyone else. Knew we wouldn't need to! You know how some (most) contractors don't show up when they say they will? Or they start the job and then leave you hanging as they rotate around to their other clients, causing your project to drag for weeks, months.... They call and stall. I've had this happen. So many of us have. Or they are overly chatty and spend most of their time talking to you but then charging you for that time. Well, not this guy! Jeff is exceptional and wonderful! He is talented, kind, honest, tidy, and honors his time commitment. He brings everything he needs and gets right to work. He is quiet but has a great sense of humor. Well, he laughs at my quips, anyway, so I think that proves it. ;-) His work is great. He is efficient and careful. We love his work and highly recommend him! Family and friends are already planning on asking him to take on their projects so you had better get on his calendar before we fill it up!

After Armor Roofing remodeled the beam structure and installed skylights, Refined Painting patched the new interior two-beam sets with "mud" and paint to make each one of them appear like single white smooth textured beams. They also textured a portion of a wall that needed attention after a roof leak. They did a flawless job with multiple coats of priming, patching and painting the beams and returned a couple weeks latter to sand, "mud" and repaint a few small bubbles that arose in the curing process. The crew really is refined in their craft which goes way beyond painting. Jose, Luis, Julio and the entire crew are pros -- I want to say "artists" -- in drywall, texturing, reconstruction prep and painting.

We chose Refined Painting for our exterior because of all their five-star reviews, and…read moreunfortunately, it's a decision I will forever regret. The actual painting was good, and the crew was very nice. But they left our property covered in lead paint chips. We spent about three weeks cleaning up, and because we couldn't get all of the chips, we ultimately (by recommendation of the state) had to remove the top layer of soil from much of our yard, bring in new soil, and redo the landscaping in an effort to contain the contamination. When we first noticed the chips and contacted the owner, he said that his workers said they did follow protocol so he doesn't know how it could be so bad. Then he suggested we shouldn't be so upset because our property was probably already contaminated from previous paint jobs. They then offered to use a leaf blower to clean up the chips--which would have simply blown them into other parts of our property or our neighbors' yards. Afterward, I researched Washington's lead-paint requirements and found that there are specific training and certification requirements for work on homes built before 1978. My understanding is that the owner had completed the training, but Refined Painting as a company is not certified so the crew working on our home had not completed the training. This is so obvious now, given the outcome. I would also advise against using their carpenter if you need any work done on your house in preparation for painting. It was some of the worst carpentry work I have seen with wood not being properly aligned and bits reaffixed crookedly. Their project manager agreed that it looked terrible and said that they would fix it all but in the end only fixed some of the problems and just left the others and painted over it. Besides the pollution and the carpentry, the painting itself looked great, all the workers were very nice and Jose, the owner, is a great salesman (he could sell you your own shoe). But the way the lead paint was handled left us with a major cleanup and forever worried about the toxicity of our yard and our kids' exposure. Also the wonky carpentry work will need to be fixed. If you have a pre-1978 home and are prepping for painting, I would strongly recommend asking anyone bidding on your project for their lead based paint certification for their company and getting details about their lead-safe practices, containment, and cleanup guarantees. I wish for the sake of my children that we had.
