While visiting Detroit Lakes, Minnesota I decide to have lunch here. My choice was between this place and another tavern down the street. I liked that I didn't take long for a waitress to ask me if I was helped yet. I chose a table on the outside patio. I liked the vibe of this place, the location and the energy of the wait staff. After a waitress brought me something to drink and some menus, another waitress stopped by my table to ensure that someone waited on me already. I loved that! I ordered fish and chips. The fish was okay. I wasn't impressed with the quality of fish and felt that it was fried with too much oil. I enjoyed the fries. Overall, mediocre meal. I was more impressed with staff, the vibe of the place and the location. This location offers a beautiful view of the lake. This establishment also reminds me of a sports bar or pub you would find in Florida. Great job decorating the place! I never would've expected a place like this in Minnesota. Glad I stopped by. If I were to visit Detroit Lakes again, not sure if I would stop return here. I do recommend checking it out for the ambiance, location and friendly staff. read more

Inside and outside "seat yourself" pub style casual layout. The only thing I didn't care for was the temperature of the food. The cheddar soup (which was delicious) would have been better had been hotter. This is only a review based on their ice cream, I have not eaten here before. Their ice cream is so good, it's always rich a creamy and there are interesting flavors. Hub 41 you let me down tonight. I will NEVER BE BACK.EVER!! EVER! Took my two teenage boys there for dinner tonight -Sunday. Took 15 min for someone to come to our table. Asked what specials they had tonight ( Sunday) and was told it's $1 wing night ( no mention of the burger and fries special). We all ordered wings but were then told they were sold out of bone in and would boneless be ok. We agreed after we were told they were sold out of the Ruben Rolls and then sold out of Totchos. WTH? That we wanted to order additionally. Bill comes and we are charged for boneless wings $11/ order vs $6 and $0.75/ order for Ranch for each person that we didn't ask for or use. I confronted my server Madi( that's what it says on my receipt) and she said all she could do is take 10% off. OMG. I'm irate. So tired of being taking advantage of. Ruined my night. Was in town for work and visited hub 41 multiple times. Good "locals" type bar. Service and food were always good.

The service was pretty good. I got the Sub 41, and was one of the worst sandwiches I have ever had. The guy asked me half way through, I told him, but there was no reason to get something else at that point. The fries were great, lol. Establishment had indoor seating as well as a patio seating with a perfect lake view! Family friendly as well as a great place to enjoy afternoon cocktails and lunch with the girls! I have celiac disease, so I need to eat a gluten-free diet. Not everything was gluten-free, but I really appreciated that the staff knew what was gluten-free and what wasn't. I ordered the Irishman Burger, but the server came back and informed me that the corned beef was cooked in beer so it wouldn't be gluten-free. No problem, I ordered the Juicy Lucette. Was staying in area while working down the road. Received a 10% discount because staying in hotel next door. Presently surprised. Having never experienced walleye before. Decided to give it a try. Mreh. That is the general consensus among the friends and co-workers who have been to the Hub41. I have to agree with them. Stopped by, with some family for lunch, on the day before Thanksgiving. Place was busy with the afternoon crowd in for lunch. Finding a table was not a problem. Staff were friendly and attentive. The four of us chose a variety a items off the menu, and food arrived quickly. We shared an order of Scotch eggs that were pretty decent. That's about it. The gyros seemed to be lacking something. The meat seemed to be a little on the tougher side, as did the pita bread. The fries served with the gyros felt soggy. The Minnesoba salad was OK. One of us also ordered some beer.. and that did not turn out good either. Kinda flat. Yup. The selling point here is the ambiance and the proximity to the lake. Not to mention patio dining is currently very popular in the Fargo area. Probably great place to hangout in the summer and knock back a few (flat) beers. In the coming week, I have a social event to attend and the host chose Hub41 as the venue. Guess I'll have to wait and see if things turn out better. For now my rating stands. read more

This new restaurant next to a new Marriott Hotel is DL's latest hot spot. And for good reason. The view of the lake is terrific. The menu is interesting and varied. And, best of all, the food is really good. It was a warm summer evening, so we sat outside on the upper deck, which made it easier to see the water and kept us separated from the din of the downstairs dining area. Try the Mufelleta sandwich or the Fish and Chips. Both are very good. A Greek salad had a bit too much taziki for our taste, but was quite delicious. read more

We (party of 2) were in town and this place was willing to feed us with their kitchen only open 20 more minutes. They really encouraged us to stay when we tried to turn around and leave. We had a couple great salads & wings, a couple rounds of beer. It hit the spot, and they were just really great. Overall this was a fine place to dine. Good atmosphere decent service. But the place is so damn small. They do have an upstairs area but it was closed off for whatever reason so all that was available was the seating inside which basically consisted of 12 tables/booths and their outside seating area. Well it's the end of September and 55 degrees outside. No one is going to be that inclined to sit outside. My wife and I arrived early enough to get a table right away only to be surrounded by a family of 10 who began rearranging tables and chairs so that they could basically sit on top of us the remainder of the time we were there and shoot us dirty looks because we wouldnt move our table to accommodate all of them. The food was decent considering we ordered fish and chips and the Asian walleye noodle bowl. The noodle bowl was listed as a spicey pork broth but it was just salty. The fish batter for the fish and chips was good and crunchy but very bland. Fresh fish which was a plus. Overall, we would eat there again at some point but was not worth dishes such as ours being listed at almost $20 each. Disappointed in the prices. read more

We really wanted to like this place! However, we came as a party of 5 on a Monday night and had to wait over an hour for our food. It wasn't very busy, but we only saw our server for our order and when our food came. We had to go to the bar to get more water and condiments. Part of our food was missing but couldn't tell our server because she never came to our table. Was disappointed with the portions of the Asian noodle bowl, considering it was $18. Highly recommend the scotch eggs! They were SO good. Loved the atmosphere and the service was great. Nice views of the water and probably my favorite spot in Detroit Lakes! This place has only been open 6 days! Great location, garage doors and patio right on the lake. Every server we came in contact with was super friendly. We got 2 gyros, one lamb and one falafel, that we're both excellent. The tatziki sauce was . We were a little sad the garage doors weren't open but it was also 85 degrees so it's understandable. The food took about 40 minutes to arrive, which seemed a little long, but it was during the lunch rush. Overall great experience and would definitely come back! read more

I ate here for lunch recently, during the biggest week of the year for Detroit Lakes (WE Fest), and wasn't expecting much for a new restaurant. Boy oh boy, was I surprised! The view from the second floor is fantastic, the food was good, and the service even better. There was a hiccup with our appetizer (it came after our main course was served), and not only did we get a second helping of the Scottish Eggs, it was taken off our tab as well. The lamb gyros were delicious, and the little touches like the pickled onions served with the Scottish Eggs were a hit with my group. Keep up the good work! read more
