The menu leans San Diego/Baja with regional depth -- smoked short rib mole, goat birria, Siete Mares seafood caldo, steak chimichurri, and a creative corn "lasagna." The overall polish reminded me of the specialty restaurants at upper-end Riviera Maya resorts -- composed, elevated, and intentional. Standouts: *Empanadas with a delicious smoky braised meat filling (would prefer sauce on the side). *Smoked short rib mole -- tender and well layered. Ask for rice or tortillas; they're happy to bring them. *Goat birria taco -- flavorful and not gamy. Go light on the consomé. *Siete Mares -- tomato-based seafood soup that reminded me of cioppino. *Corn lasagna -- creative vegetarian option. *Strong mezcal and margarita program. Pricing reflects the ambition: Apps $12-$18 Tacos $6-$9 each Entrées mid-$20s to low-$30s Cocktails $15-$17 I'm usually critical of expensive tacos and elotes in Boca/Delray, but most of those spots aren't trying to be this regionally focused or ambitious. Here, the pricing aligns with execution. Bottom line: A'LU is operating at a higher tier than much of the immediate area. It needs more traffic. If you're in Delray or Boca and say there's nothing different nearby, this is worth the short drive.

On the contrast, the side of rice and beans is fairly size-able! I also think the lake view location is fantastic and the style of the restaurant is really unique for Boynton. Regarding service, I will have to come back, because unfortunately since it was quite busy on Mother's Day, we waited over 45 minutes for our food. Also, the Carne Asada meals came cold, so I can't confidently say this was their best work. However, our server made the best of the experience and the staff was among the friendliest staff I've encountered

We ordered at the register, they gave us a number and then delivered the food to our table. The cashier was very accomodating and kind. I asked if there were any mocktails, but unfortunately there weren't. There were multiple types of alcoholic beverages behind where you order including different margarita flavors. We ordered the trio of street corn, mild salsa and guacamole to start which ended up being a better deal than just guac alone! The street corn is an absolute MUST! It's so creamy and cheesy. SO delicious. The guacamole is also extremely creamy and the flavors blended perfectly. I got a carne asada taco and a chicken taco. Out of all of the taco places I've tried around the area, I must say that Dos Amigos has got THE BEST recipe for the softest, most tender chicken!!! It was melt in your mouth type of incredible, which I have NOT found in other taco spots. There were tomatos and shredded cheese on the tacos as well. My mom ordered a saint patty's taco that was similar to a "Reuben" that they were going to remove from the menu in a few days! There was Cole slaw and corned beef on it. She said it was fantastic and unique! Overall, wonderful experience. We are already talking about coming back!

The steak was good, but the thing that saved it was the addition of the guac. Without it, it would have honestly been bad. The server was nice and helpful to my friend who asked for recommendations. My friend liked her food! We loved the outdoor area to eat at night,
