This review is specifically of the bar- not the restaurant. We got a Negroni and the Foxtail. The Negroni was very bitter, but good. The Foxtail was very very sweet. But pretty to look at. Service was good- they stayed slammed. It's a fun spot for a few drinks when in the city!

Have you ever been to a restaurant that you wanted to put in your pocket and carry home with you? That's Huami. This place was a Yelp find for us and I'm so grateful we found it. The dumplings here are life-changing and a welcome addition to some of the newer niche restaurants in the area. This is a hole-in-the-wall gem that if you were walking by you'd miss if you blink. However, if you are reading this then you most stop by and try this delicious food. We sat down and were immediately greeted. For full transparency, we ate here three times in our short 5 day visit (it's that good I promise). The food comes out as it's ready and is burn your mouth fresh which is a winner for me! The server both times were just amazing and they truly care about your experience. I'd be lying if I said this was not the best dumpling restaurant I've been to. The food was tremendous and if we are ever lucky enough to return to this part of the world I hope to eat here three more times.

Somewhat overrated place. Located on the ground level of sky city. Probably describes the food as fusion Chinese. Clean spacious restaurant. Friendly staff. Most of them are bilingual. Love the decor. Not sure about the actual food. Still can quite get over having truffle in Chinese dishes. Not the cheapest place in town but you can probably tell before you even walk into the place. I think I still favor places on dominion road.

One of the best Chinese restaurant in Auckland. Being located at Star City, there is plenty of car parking available and discounted wit a meal. We had the 1.5kg lobster with noodles and it was very good. The steamed live Wrasse was cooked to perfection with the right soya sauce. The Peking duck was interesting. For starters the skin was served with pancakes. The second dish was large pieces of boneless duck with Sang Choy. Together with beef steak Chinese style and a soup, it came to NZ$800/- for 8 people.

Well actually the name is "Huami" which means flower nectar in Chinese. So here is the drill. Go to Depot Oyster and put your name in because the no ressie policy. 1 hour wait is more like 30-45 mins. Walk across the Street and hit Huami ("who am I" get it?) which has a lovely bar. Order a round and a dim sum sampler. We be the real Chinese and we say "wow!" The flavors and presentation is world class. Whoever is the dim sum dude has to be a Rock Star from the home country. Truffle har gau? Yummy! Siu Mai with kick butt XO sauce? Outstanding! Oh oh, phone rings, table ready at Depot. Purrfectttt... got our buzz on. On to the next one!

Peking duck, the duck has a smoky flavor but lost in the condiments.

A friend in Auckland took me to Huami for dim sum and Peking Duck. Their dim sum dishes are quite refined. Although price is on the high side, to get similar level of dim sum in Hong Kong for example, would cost more. The Peking Duck has a slight smoky flavor if eaten by itself without the wrap and the condiment, otherwise that smoky flavor is lost. I tried one other Chinese restaurant in Auckland which serves more traditional dim sum dishes and is packed with locals, but I think I prefer Huami instead because the dim sum are more creative.

Unfortunately vegetarian options were minimal and quite bland. Drinks and atmosphere were great- just not a place for vegetarians/vegans.

At first, we…read morewere hesitant about eating at a food court as we imagined it would be like Taco Bell, Panda Express, Burger King, etc. But it turned out to be more like a modern food hall. It's inside a commercial building with over ten vendors offering a nice mix of cuisines: Vietnamese, Malaysian, Chinese, Mediterranean, and Korean, plus a few places for juice, açaí, and matcha drinks. We decided to try Eden Noodle, mainly because it had the longest line--which usually says something about how popular (and hopefully good) the food is. We ordered the pork ribs with rice noodles and the wontons in chili oil. We chose mild, but it was still quite spicy, so next time we'll definitely go for not spicy. The ordering process was super easy. You go to one of the three kiosks, grab a pager with a number, enter your order, pay, and wait for the buzzer to go off when your food's ready--it took about 15 minutes for ours. There's plenty of seating--tables, chairs, and benches--and you often end up sharing a table with strangers. That might feel unusual for Americans, but it actually reminded me of Hong Kong, where space is limited and communal dining is the norm. Overall, portion sizes were decent for the price, and the flavors were good--just a bit spicier than expected for "mild."

It has changed since we had been by before, but never gone in, and was now open under new management, name and only just it's 4th day. To celebrate the opening they had decorated the entry with floral arrangements which was a nice touch. Once in the restaurant , one will notice a quite sizable tank for lobster etc, a very clean and tidy interior, a few other ornaments like vases and the unusual one of a grandfather clock....I have never seen one of them before in a chinese restaurant. Something different .....a little strange but for me did not ruin the interior outlook at all. Service was good, with greeting on entering and quickly presented with menu at table. We ordered the Taiwanese soy sauce chicken ( 三杯鸡 ) and the Hong Kong style fried fish ( 避风塘炒鱼 ) . Soup of the day is bought to the table when you first sit down. That's nothing flash, soup with veges and meat bone . Is common to give such soups to patrons in cantonese restaurants. Our food came out , was up to scratch...so much so that we nearly never had to takeaway the left overs. The price is a little high though. But still worth the expense. Chances we would come back

Gather your friends or family, bring a bottle down (BYO only, no drinks menu - no corkage!!!), and get a few of the big dishes to share. Everything's great (and nothings more than $10-$15), but I recommend the salt and pepper squid, the beans, the satay beef (comes out sizzling!) and the sweet and sour pork. Awesome awesome place, just make sure you book ahead on a Fri/Sat night and don't expect great service or ambiance.

It then goes on for about fifteen minutes until we actually decide on something-- usually the restaurant we happen to be standing closest to. So you can imagine our elation when one day we came across the International Food Court tucked away underneath Queen Street (it's down the stairs just Opposite Cotton On) that houses around six little eateries that provide Indian, Chinese, Brazilian/Middle Eastern (aka delicious burritos and kebabs) and Japanese. In fairness, thus far I've only eaten in Pad Thai and the Brazilian place but they are both amazing. The food tastes really authentic and it's so cheap. A Red or Green curry with Jasmine rice will only set you back $10 and the burritos with rice and sides only a dollar more. Plus, due to the nature of the place, you can order from different kiosks and sit on the same table. Everybody wins.
