Jerry is amazing!…read more After moving and sleeping in an air mattress for two days, I came in for a 30 minute massage with Jerry. He right away felt the tension in my upper back and the message was perfect. Highly recommend him and I'll definitely be back!

Thanks to Joy G. (and Yelp) for the tip! I never would've found this place on my own, tucked away…read moreas it is under a stoop in the basement of a residential building. It looks a little shady from outside, quite frankly, but inside, the space is pleasant, the massage tables impeccably clean. You can, indeed, hear all the goings on in the adjoining rooms, as Joy noted, but luckily on my visit, there wasn't anything too loud or distracting going on. They seem to have good COVID procedures in place: Everyone gets a temperature check before coming in, a squirt of hand sanitizer, and their shoes spritzed with disinfectant. Staff and customers remain masked at all times. My massage therapist, Michelle, was excellent -- more akin to a medical professional than a spa employee. Like every other office grunt in NYC, I sit a lot and my back / shoulders are a disaster. I also do a lot of kid lifting (this should be an Olympic event) and recently started taking taekwondo classes, which are beating the crud out of me -- in a good way. Her technique was almost painfully hard, but magically kneaded out the kinks and qi blockages. Yep, an hour lying on your belly does leave you looking like you've spent the last hour sobbing, with or without contacts in. (I don't wear contacts or glasses because, according to my parents, I never studied hard enough. ;) So bring shades and an extra mask in case you relax so much you drool. Pricing is ridiculously inexpensive: $48 for 61 minutes! And yes, it is sixty-ONE minutes. Maybe it's a numerology thing.

I was looking forward to using the first of six one-hour massage certificates I was given for…read moreChristmas at Hua Kang Qi Gong massage parlor located at 164 W. 80th Street and 303 Amsterdam Avenue I booked a 90 minute massage and turned up a little early to be respectful of this place's schedule. The door was locked, and none of the six buzzers next to it were marked with the name of the parlor. I had to call someone who called someone else who came to open the door. Then I had to wait for my masseuse to arrive. The result was that we were delayed starting my massage by some 10 minutes. Once we finally started, we were no more than one minute in when the masseuse had to leave because there was no one there to take care of another client. No sooner was she back than she had to run out again to take care of another client. Rack up about another five minutes out of my 60 minute massage because the place was inadequately staffed. It's not as if waiting for her was pleasant as there was a heavy thumping sound of footsteps tracking back and forth on the floor above the massage rooms. I had requested a deep tissue massage which I have had many times. This place's version consisted solely of applying the pressure of palms or maybe knuckles primarily to my glutes. Go figure. I had to ask her to work on my neck and shoulders which she did, again basically applying pressure with her palms and perhaps her fists. There was no attentive and anatomically aware seeking out of tight muscles and sore spots. I felt like a slab of meat being manhandled rather than a client being massaged. This was an experience to be endured more than enjoyed and as a result I shortened my massage from the scheduled 90 minutes to only 60. When I left, I spoke with the "manager" to ask if I could return my five remaining one-hour gift certificates in exchange for their purchase price as I did not want to use them. He told me wouldn't do that. Amazing. His solution was to say I should talk to the person who gave me this present, which of course isn't helpful. His way they have the money and won't be called upon to provide any service so they come out nicely ahead. How hard can it be for them to get their gift certificates back in return for their cost so that everyone is back at the starting point? They wouldn't consider it. Awful customer service. This business is at best highly indifferent. On a scale of 10, three would be a high grade. An indifferent massage plus hanging onto the cash is a very bad combination. I'd give them zero stars if I could. I should add that I have gone to many qi gong parlors for massages over the years and found them generally high-quality and well priced. Not this one. I will stay away and would recommend anyone else considering going do the same.

Great M4M hourly Spa…read more Dylan and his staff provide hourly massage services at a great price. I recommend you make an appointment first, some of the masseur schedules are tight. The rooms have there own doors, although the walls don't reach the ceiling, and provide enough noise suppression. The masseur asked me to dis-robe into whatever I was comfortable with, and lay down on the table. He asked me if the pressure was ok? or if I wanted more pressure? Then proceeded to massage my body with no oil first, then applied a little massage oil. I was surprised the hour floated by so quickly. I was very satisfied with his service. I have visited Babylon a number of times since, sometimes with the Master Dylan, and sometimes with others, they all are professional. They all make me feel happy/satisfied with their services. They also have a full shower if you need it. I suggest a tip of at least $25, or more. I will definitely return, soon.

Really glad I did! It was a painful massage but in the best possible way. It was like getting a massage in China. It hurt but every thing the guy was doing was with intention. Some of the places in LA are just being lazy just patting you down giving you half their attention or one time they just tried to flatten me like pizza dough. I consider that a waste of time and money. My masseuse was really searching for every knot and tried with a hefty amount of strength to work through it. It was exactly what I needed but I can imagine some people just not being able to take it. Imagine a knot being found in your back and then just someone shoving their elbow in it and hearing loud popping. It was sooooo therapeutic and I'm still sore a few days later but feeling so loose and without any real tension. It's like a weight is lifted all my shoulders. Pretty sure you can ask for a lighter massage. I heard a guy next to me say 6 out of 10 so I'm sure lighter massages are available. Can't repeat this enough, I'm going back again!
