I had a problem with my delivery which was more the fault of UPS and not Hartmann's specifically. I had expected a bunch of finger pointing between UPS and Hartmann's with the end result of ME being left holding the bag. And in fact, I think UPS was going down that road. Bob Kabel of Hartmann's contacted me personally and fixed things. Fast. It was refreshing to have a company immediately put the customer first. I will order from Hartmann's again and I will recommend them to my friends.

I wasn't sure if the company was still making the material. I spoke w a woman named Lexi. She said she would get back w me. I called again with the square footage of my room and left the information with the woman who answered the phone. I didn't hear back that week and called again on October 23. I was told that the info was in Lexi's email and that Lexi was "on a well deserved vacation" and was off for her sons birthday. I asked when I should call back. The woman told me "like I said Monday the 31st" (FYI..she never said a date. Just said she was off). I called yesterday, November 3, giving Lexi some time to catch up after her vacation. She answered the phone and asked what I needed. So I went through the whole story. She told me she left me a voicemail (if she did, she left it on wrong number, I have no history of a missed call or of a voicemail from her). She told me the material is discontinued. I asked for the name of my product. She didn't want to look it up. But finally did. And I asked her for the company's phone number (I figured they might know where else I could get something like this or mill it for me...because she suggested they may), she said "you can Google it". I said, no, you can give it to me....she hung up on me. I did call back to talk to a manager and was sent to their normal voicemail. It was approximately 8k worth of hard wood that apparently she didn't want to sell me for some reason. I called the manufacturer and was told that in fact this was not discontinued, they re-mill it all of the time and that they have 8,000 square feet in their warehouse. I called 2 other vendors to check prices and "miracle" they found it and quoted me on the phone right then. So run away from this place. Do not use them.

The sales clerk appeared reluctant to look up the piece in a catalog and was unwilling to look in more than one reference. I would discourage anyone from patronizing Hodgson Light, Log and Patio.
