This lovely nursery is out among the farm fields of Michigan's western harbor and wine country…read more They have small display gardens which were pretty and could be worth a visit in themselves. The nursery was packed with both old standards and new, unique varieties, which was delightful. I could have walked around for ages and I'm sure my family would say that I already did! The staff here is excellent- several staff members were able to walk me around and help me to find exactly the variety that would work best for me in several situations... and I'm pretty picky, as a landscape architect and horticulturist. It was like candy for me to be able to walk around with these experts and pick their brains on different qualities of each cultivar- I learned new things, which is always a win. In the end, I went home with a Baetzella peony that I had been searching for at a very good price, a great dwarf Japanese Maple (they have so many to choose from!), and a unique, funny little evergreen that they bred right there at the nursery. Especially if you're looking for a nursery with a great evergreen selection and a lot of knowledge, this is a must-see.

They offer a large variety of plants from sun to shade, annuals to perennials, as well as veggies and herbs. Remember when stores offered to carry purchases to your car? They still do! Just be sure to bring cash or check as they do not accept credit/debit cards. I cannot say enough about their quality plants and customer service. FYI, if you hesitate to shop there because of their location on Westnedge, don't worry; they have an entry/exit to a side road that has a traffic light to get back onto Westnedge!
