I purchased sunglasses from the SEE Eyewear store located at 2945 Preyde Road, Lansing, Michigan…read moreback in 2008. The sunglasses fell apart within six months of purchase. After vehemently arguing with SEE Eyewear headquarters, the lenses were placed into an identical frame by the SEE lab. The second pair fell apart in the same identical location that the previous glasses did. So, to finally resolve the issue, I had SEE take the lenses and place them into a different frame. I paid $52.47 on July 16, 2010 to have SEE cut the lenses to fit the new frame. Now, the lenses are peeling. There are cloudy blotches within the lenses. On Thursday, June 9, 2011, I left the sunglasses with one of SEE's associate at the Lansing store asking what is SEE going to do about replacing the lenses or fixing them in someway?? Is it necessary for me to Small Claims Court?? SEE responded to me through e-mail and told me to take my business else where. Today, July 29, 2011, met a SEE representative in Small Claim Courts. The Court first wanted to try mediation and had us both present our arguments to them. After I showed the sunglasses AND my regular glasses to the mediator, which clearly have blotches and peeling on the both of them, the SEE representative suggested that I was probably cleaning my counters and got chemicals on them. I responded that I didn't get the blotches from cleaning my counters. She need said, "Oh, you don't clean your counters?" She then indicated that I had coating on the glasses which caused blotchy cloudiness after a few years. I then pulled out my glasses that I bought from another eyeglass store about 6-7 years ago. They were crystal clear. She then said that when I took the glasses off my face incorrectly that damages the frames. What does that have to do with the lenses being blotchy and cloudy?? She also brought the warranty policy, which only covers one year. But even though the glasses are over a year old, my glasses from the other eye wear store are much older and they are still clear. Because the magistrate had left, the hearing had to be re-scheduled. While waiting for the clerk to give us the new paperwork, I said to the SEE rep, "who would wear their sunglasses to clean counters?? The glasses are merely made of inferior materials and SEE will not accept responsibility for their inferior products. The SEE rep said something really nasty to me and then I said something very nasty in return. She then told me how ignorant I was, and that it was expected of me. Typical. Basically, what she was saying is that all African-Americans are expected to act and behave in an ignorant manner. After we got the paperwork, I waited about 20 minutes to make sure she had driven off because I did not want any more contact with her.

Posting this for those who want to make sure you are going to a safe store during the covid…read moreoutbreak . This is not one of those safe stores. All employees I had seen were not wearing masks. There was no sneeze guard on any of the registers which puts you within two feet of an unmasked person. there was nothing to wipe carts with and no one was wiping them between employees. Apparently this is a popular place to go is you are not masked because customers were unmasked and several of them coughing . the store had many people in it and not many of them were social distancing and there was absolutely no advisement on the door or a sign that said to keep distance. Whole family with kids were in the store as well which is not necessary . I called the HQ and they told me they should be wearing masks or working register with a guard. but of course this is not true. Sad and disappointed that this store does not care about the heath of their customers to take full precautions.. They could not even take the smallest precaution of wearing masks. Oh and if you want to clean your hands in the store go to the chickens. apparently whatever disease you get from chickens is way more deadly since that is where thy chose to put hand sanitizer

It pains me to write this. PAINS me. One of the last alternatives for local printing, had one of…read morethe BEST service counters in the state. Being a cartoonist, I went there for many many things. Majorly for finished art to be printed. In the beginning, they had a wonderful rep named Bernard who KNEW his stuff. He cared about his job and the people he served. About 2 years ago, I started to see Bernard less and less and the implementation of DIY printers that you are told to use. These are cumbersome to say the least, seldom loaded with the type of paper I need and the new staff just doesn't want to help you. Especially their "pissy" manager. I needed something on a Saturday for a gift to be printed. The full service print shop I now go to was closed, so I went to Office Max to get it done. It was just as bad as I remembered the experience to be but even worse. Literally, there were 4 customers in the store, including my wife and I. 2 employees were at the print registers. One was finishing a customer and the other was at the register. I stood and waited for him to address me. After a minute he asked "can I help you". I said YES! I am so glad to see you up here, I hate those machines, I need a thicker paper and could you print this ONE picture for me. He said "No. I am swamped, I can print it tomorrow. And you can pick it up." I said it's one picture? He said you will have to use the machines over there. He was the manager. The other employee heard I was looking for a longer sheet and ran to see it was loaded. Which I thanked him for. These DIY machines make you pay at least $5 with a credit card to Office Depot and then you can print. There is a myriad of options. I have often walked away without what I came for. I don't like them. I don't work there. All the manager had to do is: put in my usb. select pdf. press print. Less than 60 seconds. Instead I was told to come back. To drive back home, then come back the next day and go back home. Gas is atrocious. But truly, it's a very common attitude in this day and age. And also why there were 3 customers in the store on a beautiful Saturday. And Christmas. And back to school. It's the people running the place that make the difference. Bring back Bernard!!! Pay him what he wants. I wanted to complain to the manager.... but you know the story. What a shame.
