On top of this my payroll provider did not file my taxes like they said they would. Lorraine found all this out plus other things that I missed. I operate a recruiting agency, a good judge of character so when I say Lorraine is trustworthy, a true professional, gives great advice and thorough I mean it. I had an emergency surgery and I was confident to leave my affairs completely in her hands because of her first impressions. Based on my visit and the service received , Granite Town tax service will continue preparing our books.

The son (Francesco Finocchiaro) of Santo Finocchiaro was going to try to charge me $750 when I met with him. This insulting price was to prepare two fairly simple tax filings. Keep in mind that only two weeks earlier while shopping for an accountant to help with my taxes I had been quoted $250. That was to prepare both filings. This was quoted to me by an entirely separate and unrelated accountant working in another town. I have every reason to believe the father, Santo Finocchiaro was a reputable accountant who up to this point built a solid business and understood the meaning of what is fair. As for doing business with the son though, I say be safe. I wouldn't have a thing to do with him. Attempting to price gouge his customers strongly suggests an opportunist. That young man has a lot to learn about word of mouth in regards to reputation and what is fair when dealing with customers. That is of course if he ever wants any of them to return to do business with him again. If I could have given this business a lower rating than just one star - I would have. And NO. I would not refer this business now to anyone nor will I stop warning people of my experience there. What's fair is fair.

Last year our returns (federal and 2 states) cost $800. When working with Jeff expect good quality -- if Jeff has a clear sense up front of what's required and the flexibility to complete it when he is able to slot it into his schedule. In our experience you can also expect to follow up in order to stay on his radar. In our experience we lacked clear due dates, what (if any) additional documentation he needs from us, how many hours he expects to work, expected fees, what kind of notification he provides if fees exceed estimates, and when fees are due. While good quality, I'd also advise you to check your returns carefully every year, comparing what was filed to prior years.

I contacted him with a few reasonable questions about my return that he prepared. I was immediately met with passive aggressive attitude, condescending comments, and a complete lack of professionalism. Rather than answering basic questions, I was told to "go elsewhere" and also to hurry up and pay the invoice. I wasn't being difficult, I just wanted to understand few things. Apparently, that's too much to ask this accountant (who is clearly a miserable person). I have never been treated with such blatant disrespect by a so-called professional. It's honestly shocking that someone like this is running a business. If you're looking for an accountant who is patient, respectful, and willing to communicate, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere. Avoid Gerald F Paolilli at all costs if you value being treated like a human being.

Jeff will go into as much detail as you want with his explanations so that you feel comfortable about how your money will be handled. He even has a powerpoint with all sorts of information. My transfer went smoothly, he did a conference call with me to get things started. Claire got all the paperwork ready and all I had to do was bring them the check when it came. I get monthly statements which show all my balances and also receive detailed summaries when my money moves around. Jeff isn't just some bank employee who's taken a couple of courses and can only give you a limited number of choices.
