For well over a decade I was a client of Steve Vesey. He was…read moreexcellent at completing taxes and providing guidance in understanding taxes. I admired his expertise and professionalism. I was surprised when I received his retirement letter 2 tax seasons ago. Yet, so like him, that he would provide written closure and supportive and kind words on it. I could have more consciously chosen my next accountant within or outside of the Vesey & Weeks. With my responsibilities in running a small business, I did not. I was under the impression that Steve was so good at his job that Susan would also be. I was surprised when I experienced the opposite. My experience with Susan was very unprofessional. When a mistake was made with completing my taxes, she took zero responsibility for it and instead expressed anger in response to my confusion and questions. Actually, she was disrespectful and reactive. Then I later learned she wrote something close to in my file that I decided not to return when it was she that said to me I was not welcomed to return, returned my tax materials for that tax year and closed my file at Vesey and Weeks. People make mistakes. To respond in such a reactive manner as a business, as a service provider, simply is poor business and customer service. To treat a client for well over 10 years in a manner that eases the transition the business is experiencing as well as the client within the business is simply what makes sense as well as quality business practices. What makes sense in a situation such as this is for the business service provider to listen, understand and correct the problem in a respectful and courteous manner. Then allow the client to decide whether to give it another go, select another accountant within the practice to work with, or select another accountant outside of the practice to work with. Also, record accurately in the client's file the business' response and decision. ~Faith E.

I had a question for the receptionist regarding the bottom line of my taxes that were just prepared. She had to go ask Barry the question and his response was I didn't give him that information and need to go home and get it and come back so they could fix the error(I live 35 minutes away). I was adamant and 100% sure that I had given him this information,so I asked to speak with him and he the looked up my file. He then realized I had given him the info and the taxes were in fact correct. He apologized because he didn't really check to see what the receptionist was actually asking but had no qualms about having me drive 35 minutes each way to fix something that didn't need to be fixed because he was to lazy to actually look in to what he was being asked by his employee. I also found his Fee to be completely overpriced and ridiculous.
