Jeff has completed our complex, multi-state personal income tax returns for 4 years. He picked up work from the excellent professional we used in New York when that professional retired. Last year our returns (federal and 2 states) cost $800. When working with Jeff expect good quality -- if Jeff has a clear sense up front of what's required and the flexibility to complete it when he is able to slot it into his schedule. In our experience you can also expect to follow up in order to stay on his radar. In our experience we lacked clear due dates, what (if any) additional documentation he needs from us, how many hours he expects to work, expected fees, what kind of notification he provides if fees exceed estimates, and when fees are due. While good quality, I'd also advise you to check your returns carefully every year, comparing what was filed to prior years. read more
