Her office is very responsive, getting back to calls quickly and getting things filed right away. A pleasure to work with this office.

So three years ago, I found Cyndie on Yelp along with some other options. Cyndie was the first to respond to my inquiry, so she earned my business. Responsiveness via email is important to me, because I work three jobs and I'm too busy to run errands or even talk on the phone much. I .pdf my information to Cyndie (password protected, of course) and she sends it back the same way--often within 24-36 hours! If I have questions, she responds to them via email immediately. I've used her every year since and recommend her to everyone who asks me how I got my taxes done so quickly! Thanks, Cyndie!

Last year our returns (federal and 2 states) cost $800. When working with Jeff expect good quality -- if Jeff has a clear sense up front of what's required and the flexibility to complete it when he is able to slot it into his schedule. In our experience you can also expect to follow up in order to stay on his radar. In our experience we lacked clear due dates, what (if any) additional documentation he needs from us, how many hours he expects to work, expected fees, what kind of notification he provides if fees exceed estimates, and when fees are due. While good quality, I'd also advise you to check your returns carefully every year, comparing what was filed to prior years.

He then requested a $550 retainer upfront, something we had never been asked to pay by any of our previous accountants. Unfortunately, that initial meeting was the only time we met with him. He would not scheduled a follow-up or an appointment to review the documents we were providing. Instead, he sent us a lengthy tax organizer that required us to complete much of the work ourselves. When we asked questions, we often did not receive direct answers. When we questioned why so much of the organizer needed to be completed by us, his response was, "It would cost a lot more if I had to do it." Isn't that your job? We also found the office to be somewhat disorganized, and his comments about his younger staff did little to inspire confidence in the level of support we could expect. Ultimately, we decided to have our taxes prepared elsewhere. To his credit, he did file an extension and is refunding $375 of the retainer. However, we were disappointed with the amount he chose to retain, given our overall experience. Overall, the experience fell well short of our expectations. We were looking for clear guidance, direct answers, and professional service. Instead, we felt that much of the responsibility for preparing our return had been left to us. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this firm.
