Last year our returns (federal and 2 states) cost $800. When working with Jeff expect good quality -- if Jeff has a clear sense up front of what's required and the flexibility to complete it when he is able to slot it into his schedule. In our experience you can also expect to follow up in order to stay on his radar. In our experience we lacked clear due dates, what (if any) additional documentation he needs from us, how many hours he expects to work, expected fees, what kind of notification he provides if fees exceed estimates, and when fees are due. While good quality, I'd also advise you to check your returns carefully every year, comparing what was filed to prior years.

We ended up here at Ivas, CPA as they are local and have been in busines for quite some time. Jeff Ivas provided us with a quick appointment, and assisted us with running several reports on the best way to file to get the best rate and pay the least amount of taxes as possible. Process was quick and painless and they e-file 2 returns for $240.

The son (Francesco Finocchiaro) of Santo Finocchiaro was going to try to charge me $750 when I met with him. This insulting price was to prepare two fairly simple tax filings. Keep in mind that only two weeks earlier while shopping for an accountant to help with my taxes I had been quoted $250. That was to prepare both filings. This was quoted to me by an entirely separate and unrelated accountant working in another town. I have every reason to believe the father, Santo Finocchiaro was a reputable accountant who up to this point built a solid business and understood the meaning of what is fair. As for doing business with the son though, I say be safe. I wouldn't have a thing to do with him. Attempting to price gouge his customers strongly suggests an opportunist. That young man has a lot to learn about word of mouth in regards to reputation and what is fair when dealing with customers. That is of course if he ever wants any of them to return to do business with him again. If I could have given this business a lower rating than just one star - I would have. And NO. I would not refer this business now to anyone nor will I stop warning people of my experience there. What's fair is fair.

Her office is very responsive, getting back to calls quickly and getting things filed right away. A pleasure to work with this office.

The Best CPA I've Worked With in 35+ Years of Business…read more After running multiple businesses over the past 35+ years, I've worked with many CPAs -- but Stephen Jordan stands out as the absolute best. He's not just a tax preparer -- he's a strategic advisor, a calm presence in stressful times, and a true professional who knows how to get things done. When I came to Stephen, my records were a mess: overlapping business filings, real estate sales, crypto transactions, partnership transitions -- you name it. Within a short time, he helped me get fully organized, created a clear plan for back filings, and identified exactly what needed to be done to stay compliant and protected. He navigated it all with precision and patience. Stephen took the time to understand me -- not just the numbers. He respected my experience, offered smart solutions without judgment, and helped bring order to years of financial chaos. For the first time in a long time, I felt confident about my filings and my future. If you're a seasoned entrepreneur or just starting out, don't waste time with generic CPA firms. Stephen Jordan is in a class of his own. I wish I had found him 20 years ago.

Nakata Consulting is an essential piece of my business life!!…read more But for the rest of this review let's just be on a first name basis and talk about Joe. I would have probably given up the whole self employed business long ago if not for Joe. I found Joe through some other colleagues in the Boston photography network years ago. I'll admit I was more than clueless about how to keep my bookkeeping organized and he took me under his wing, took the chaos and made sense of it all. Now I do most of the bookkeeping on my own and he gives it a look once a month to make sure I'm on track. In a "teach a man to fish...." sort of a way. Monthly, quarterly and annual taxes are a breeze now and I can confidently make business purchases and know the overall health of the business. If you're a small business (he has a keen knowledge of the photography business - take a look at his client list!! http://www.nakataconsulting.org/links.php ), but also for restaurants, etc... He'll do your sales taxes, bookkeeping, consulting and all at reasonable rates. I've referred him to friends (non-business owners) as well and he'll definitely take care of you. So walk right past H&R Block and call Joe!
