HT learning center is a very good tutoring center. During my time here, I had some nice tutors that helped a lot, and specifically had their own subjects they were skilled in. The owners are especially nice and check in to see how the classes are going and if the students are okay. read more

HT learning center is a great place to get tutored on subjects you need help in. I go here for physics and calculus. I can already say I feel a lot more confident in the subject. I've been able to actually understand the homework and class work I've been given due to the help of the tutors. The tutors and director, Dr. Kris, really care about your success and well-being because they are constantly asking me questions about how my work and school is going. Even when I'm quietly completing homework, the tutors make sure to ask if everything is going alright. I also feel safe when coming here because they check everyone's temperature, make sure we're 6 feet apart, require masks, and have sanitizer readily available. Overall, if you're looking for an outstanding tutoring center, definitely choose HT. read more

The tutors had absolutely no back bone to the point where I was "expelled" for being "manipulative and evil" - Says Christine/Kristine, whatever the principal's name was. I learned absolutely NOTHING in my time here, other than to step all over my tutors and get cookies. I forget the names of my tutors (since it was such a horrible experience), but I can tell you that without instigation, my female tutor started crying because I asked her for a clock... Timed essays people! I would like to know how much longer I have left to complete my assignment. All the bad reviews are true! I took my 1st & 2nd grader here for the first tutoring session & the minute we stepped in, I can sense there was something wrong with the tutoring center. The owner Kris & her assistant Linda are very money driven people while running a very unprofessional business. The minute we step in this business, they demanded money (CASH ONLY) with tutoring rates that changes within seconds!! Forget what is posted on their wall & contracts, they will SWITCH & BAIT for business. They will say just about anything to change the rates. read more

I am borrowing my sister's account to write this review, as I feel compelled to offer a different perspective of Mr. Benner. Mr. Benner was my SAT Math teacher a few summers ago. He was very competent in explaining math concepts and helped me see and approach the math problems in an efficient and "big picture" kind of way. Under his guidance, I was able to improve my math score tremendously. With a high SAT score, I was able to attend USC (Go Trojans!) with a merit scholarship that left me with zero undergraduate debt. If you're eager to learn and score well, Mr. Benner will help you achieve success. I am grateful to have had Mr. Benner as a teacher and would recommend him to anyone seeking SAT math prep. I rarely leave a review but this is long overdue. My son has been a student at HT Learning for 3 years now. He is 8th grade and in advanced Math and honor English. Before coming here, it was always a struggle for us to tutor him. We've realized that instead of helping our son, we stressed him out more with our way to teaching. Teaching is a skill that we don't have nor we have enough patience. My son has been fortunate enough to be tutored by some wonderful teachers at HT Learning. They are highly qualified and well-versed in all subjects. During school year, he mainly has help with Math lessons and occasionally got help with language art/English from his tutor. During Summer, I had him take extra fun classes such as Programming and Spanish which were excellent. I know for a fact that without his tutor, he would have a tough time to archive his 4.0 for 3 years straight. 2020 is a bad year for everyone and keeping a small business afloat during this time is an incredibly tough challenge. I hope HT Learning can whether through this storm so that our son can continue to get quality tutoring service from their amazing staffs. read more

My brothers and I receive tutoring here. I came here because I needed tutoring for AP Physics and AP Statistics, and I have improved so much since the start. The tutors here are nice and very friendly. Chuong, one of the tutors, usually helps me out with physics and statistics, and my understanding of the material has grown. Not only do they help me with the classes in struggling in, but they have great tutors who help advise you when you have questions about college and applying. I am very glad that I came to HT for help with my classes. My grades have definitely been improving. read more

I came here throughout high school to get help on multiple subjects, mostly math and sciences. The tutors here assigned based on what subjects you need help on. A couple years ago I came to get help for AP chem and I ended up with a 4 on the AP test and an A in the class. The Principle there was very rude and very deluded. Even though, she did something wrong or she is in the wrong, She blames on other workers and other tutors for what she had done wrong. When I was sitting there doing my work, she came and would call my tutor and talk to each other like someone is in the wrong. She even looks at my things, questions me, and called my parents for "doing something else, like 'chatting', while in class." It was very dumb and annoying. It frustrates me and my parents because we payed them at least four hundred dollars a month and only get complaints out of it back. But besides the woman with Proza*, the tutors Chuong, Huy, Justin, James, Mrs. Mizuhara, and Alan are the most respected tutors in there and they are there to help students good grades. My 2 sons (1 middle school & 1 high school) have gone to HT since elementary school. Thanks to the tutors (many are credentialed teachers and college graduates) my sons have been consistently getting great grades. Aside from helping your kids to complete their homework, the tutors will also quiz them for exams. When I pick them up, I know everything is done, and I don't have to worry. I've been coming here since for about 5 years on and off and they've usually been able to help with whatever subject is needed. Returning students are greeted with an organized system/ breakdown of info to best allow the tutor to help such as current homework, upcoming tests, and the student's subject in need of improvement. Tutors each specify in a certain subject to better each student'a specific needs with subjects varying from all levels of math to forms of English literature and even languages such as Vietnamese and Spanish. HT Learning Center has been a tremendous help in helping me improve my grades. The tutors here are very nice and give a lot of their attention to the students. I have been struggling in Chemistry because I do not have a good teacher that teaches well. With the help of the tutors here, I was able to understand the concepts and pass my test with a B or above. I've been coming here for both tutoring and summer classes on and off since 7th grade and it's always very helpful! I came here to prep for my AP Physics class and I ended up with an A in the class and a 4 on the AP test, I felt very prepared coming into the school year. I also raised my AP Calc AB grade from a C to an A after coming here for after school tutoring with Chuong as my tutor, and I also got a 5 on the AP test! Went here for summer English and math classes ... One word : RIDICULOUS!!! The principal Kris is rude and disrespectful & I don't feel welcome to take classes here when I was talking to her. The classes are set up really weird. Your English class depends on the math your taking. So if you were to take a 8th grade math then your English class would also be full of 8th graders...... Ridiculous ...Since when did your math level determine your English level ??? I would definitely not recommend this so called "learning center"! There are millions of other great tutoring places such as Elite, A+ Tutoring, Excelcius, etc. Did I mention you have to pay an extra $25 each to your teachers for them to make copies for the class .... This is a poorly ran tutoring center. Christo (the office manager) is not friendly, horrible with communicating and made the experience not the most pleasant. In addition to that the the tutors where not educated, totally "winged" each day and didnt know anything about my program (SAT prep). Don't let the owner, Kris fool you with her credits. This pertains to their location on hiel. By far the worst tutoring center I have come in contact with. I will now list two scenarios and based off it , you can come up with your own opinions and judgements regarding this place. One - my first week there, a little boy asked his teacher to go to the restroom. Mind you, he's about 6 years old. The teachers response? "you're wasting my time," in a harsh and rude manner. Now please, BY LAW it is illegal to deny a child of their right to go the restroom in which can lead them to get infections by holding it in. Why does this tutor feel she has the authority to say no? To further my point, obviously a young child is still yet not capable of holding their bladder. Second scenario - Class starts at 9:30AM. I came early and was texting my mother to come pick me up at 12:30, which is when class ends. I was on my phone 9:25. Yet this caucasion lady has the audacity to come up to me and say "should you be doing that?" Again, in an unnecessary tone and manner. My response was, "class has not started yet and i am making sure I get a ride home." Shouldn't a tutoring centers first priority be a student's safety? That they get home safely? Hm...but even after the fact of stating i was figuring out a ride home, she rudely respondes saying "You need to put that away now!" What right does she have? Class didn't even start yet. Oh and besides that, right before break she has the nerve to smirk at me due to the whole incident. Good job HT tutoring for hiring a place with mature tutors and knowing how to deal with students! NOT. Do not come to this place! You are just wasting your time and money. Read the other reviews, it is self explanatory as to why they receive an abundance of one star ratings. TO MAKE THIS CLEAR: Mr. Chuong, as a teacher, is fine. He does his job and knows his boundaries (respectful and does not cross the line with students).
