In my honest opinion, we should of kept on walking by. Their HH sushi and roll were horrible. The rice was bad and hard the fish wasn't the best. The crab and spicy tuna roll had no flavor. I can't believe I've never been here before! I am so happy that I came across it while at the mall! Their hand roll combos are delicious, perfectly made and so fresh. The spicy tuna rice cakes are out of this world. (I ate them before I could take a pic ha) They honestly may have beaten out Nobu's for me. Perfect balance of spicy tuna, rice and sauce. Most places have too much rice, but HRB's was PERFECT. A must try. Oh and the ginger salad is massive and delicious. At 4 o'clock no one calls me in the end I had to call them back it's ridiculous when I called them back the lady said that the manager is Busy and tells me to wait again I don't get it I'm the customer I waited for you once I just want to fix the problem but they tell me to wait I don't get it if your manager doesn't have time to talk why did you tell me 4 o'clock later when the manager calls me back she talks to me rudely though out the call I asked her why 3 pieces of sushi would be more the 50 something dollars and she says ma'am this is Los Angeles I take that incredible offensive. Price / Portions / Taste does not add up at all. The rolls in the photos are blue crab on one and lobster on the other. The waitress talked us out of getting the baked roll. She said it was literally ONE small piece we would have received for $20+. These were about $30+ each and there's nothing but the meat and seaweed wrap. They are also very, very tiny pieces and did not taste beyond mediocre. Luckily we ordered a side of eel sauce to help. After this snack, we have decided to cook our salmon at home since we were still very hungry. I randomly ran into HRB while shopping, and it was definitely NOT a mistake. I'm a huge sushi enthusiast, and before moving to LA, I tried just about every sushi spot in Texas, from the cheapest to the most expensive. I can confidently say the quality here is up there with the best. This place is hand roll focused, and that's exactly how you should order. I don't do rolls. I stick to hand rolls, sashimi, and nigiri, and HRB does all of it really well. Each fish tasted clean and fresh, and the uni really stood out. Knowing the uni comes from Santa Barbara makes it hit even harder if you're serious about sushi. SO good, and surprisingly affordable compared to other spots. I would come back here again and again. It's one of those places where you get high quality fish without destroying your budget, which is rare. If you actually care about sushi and want something solid without paying luxury prices, this spot is IT. She was preoccupied with being on her phone w a friend , I had to ask for assistance twice both times she said hold on. Very unprofessional and disappointing. One star off for a few things -- it's one giant community bar for seating and outside only (which is totally fine right now because it's summer as I write this).
