Zachary came out to assess it the day we called him and had an estimate for us that same day. He was very honest and thorough by stating what our options were and what the pros and cons were. When it carne time to do the work his crew was amazing. They did everything he said they would do, and they were very friendly and knowledgeable, too. They cleared the water damaged and replaced the drywall so well it doesn't even look like we ever had an incident. The rate was very reasonable, too. We did have to make a deposit first, and then pay final payment when the work was complete which I expected and is fair. Overall we are VERY pleased and will use him and his services again. He's now part of our list of household contractors.

He was excellent at communicating everything with me. Only took them about 3 or 4 days to complete. We were very happy with the way the roof turned out. Our single and only complaint would be a better clean up process. We are still finding lots nails in our perimeter of the house (not good for our animals) and still picking up small pieces of old shingles off my grass and flower beds. But other than that, which shouldn't be a deal breaker, I would totally recommend them.

Be cautious!! My mother has a vacant property that needed…read moresome repairs so we hired Mr. Castillo. Before he started the work, I had a talk with him and told him we were concerned he wouldn't get the work done in a timely manner (he had trouble keeping appointments). He said he knew he could be flakey, but gave me his word the work would get done well and on time. He said he'd finish in 9 days to two weeks. That turned into 2 1/2 weeks since there was some delay with finances. He wasn't done then. He said he would be totally finished by the following Monday. He wasn't. Another week went by, then another. Finally after 8 weeks my mother had to tell him to pack his things, leave, and we will get someone else to finish. We then looked at his work. It was disappointing. When he was told the adhesive material wasn't applied adequately behind the bathroom tiles, he said he could fix that. We hired him to do the work right in the first place! When he was told that he didn't even give us the eight hour days he committed to, his defense was that he brought in a guy to help him and, collectively, when they would work 4 hours days, that would equal 8 hour days. He is full of excuses and takes no responsibility for doing the work wrong and not getting it finished. The floors looked nice although he didn't install the transition strips. Tile in the bathroom is uneven, the floors are uneven. We are having to pay extra to have someone come in and do things right. In my opinion, this man took advantage of my mother. I don't suggest hiring him unless you will be there to oversee his work, constantly, and hold him accountable. Hiring him was a huge mistake for us and set us back financially and time wise. He has a very congenial personality, but he should not be doing this to people. If you are just needing floors put in, or have some other small scale job, he might be an option for you to consider. I would not recommend him myself because of my overall experience. Please consider this before hiring him to work on your home. **UPDATE** Gabriel has recently sent an invoice and credited the labor we still owed him in full. I appreciate his attempt to make things right. I would still caution anyone from hiring him because of the low quality of work that we are left to deal with. We are still having to pay someone else to come in and do the work he did right.

He replaced two light fixtures in my kitchen and they are hanging down from the ceiling, not flush with the ceiling like they are supposed to be. He said he would fix them when he came back to repair the damage in #3, which he never did. 2. He replaced my outdoor light fixture and it was crooked. However, he did fix it when he returned to repair other damage that he had caused (see #4). 3. He upgraded my porcelain sink to a stainless steel sink and, in the process, cracked 5 tiles that he said he would come back and fix. It took me having to hunt him down for two months for him to finally tell me that my particular tiles had been discontinued and I would have to replace my countertops (at my own expense, I figure, because when I told him that he had the obligation to pay for the replacement countertops, he did not text me back). 4. After he replaced the sink, when I used my dishwasher, it flooded underneath the sink and caused tons of water damage. He came a few days later to "fix it," but the same thing happened again and he insisted to me that it was not the result of his work (that the tubes were clogged). He also told me that he would repair the water damage, but his solution was that he would "paint over it," not replace the damaged wood. When I started researching him, I saw that he was on Thumbtack and had several good reviews, but also a few really bad ones (with stories quite similar to mine). When I went to leave him a review on Thumbtack, it would not let me. When I called customer service, they told me that their policy was that I could not leave a review unless I had hired him through the app., which I had not. I went back and forth with them - explaining that I paid him $1500 only to have all this damage done to my home and even sent them 8 pictures of the damage. They still would not let me leave a review. The customer service representative told me that she had just been talking to Ismael about a complaint that they had received about him from another customer. But she also told me that they were going to let him stay on the app! 5. When I hired another repairman to fix my dishwasher, he was appalled by the "Mickey Mouse" job (his words) that had been done to connect the dishwasher tubes after the sink installation. Ismael would only communicate with me if I texted him first, even though he was supposed to be working on finding tiles so that he could replace the ones he cracked. He would never give me updates like a professional should do; I always had to hunt him down for updates. As another customer states, he would say he would come to fix the issues, but then when I gave him my schedule, he would not text me back. If you look at his responses to his customer complaints on Thumbtack, he blames the customers rather than taking responsibility for the issues that he caused himself. He did the same to me, telling me that he was going to fix my dishwasher, but "unfortunately I went and hired another contractor" to do it (after I had let him try to fix it and he could not. Please see the photos I have posted.
