I chose Rommel(Happyhandyman) for the simple fact that he said he would give me a FREE quote. On a project like dryealit's hard to pay money for someone just to come out and tell you what it will cost, you know. Price was reasonable, Rommel was very professional, well spoken and respectful of the work area. The shower remodel company left me with 2 different drywall textures(don't ask me about it :/) and he did a great job! Would hire again and would recommend to anyone. read more

On a Friday a week ago I contacted Happyhandyman. I was asked to send photos of the project for the "office" to provide a quote on the job. Sent the photos right away -- in fact I ultimately sent photos for more than one project -- but did not hear back Monday. Figured the weekend got in the way, and followed up again via text. Rommel said he wanted to come out to scope out the project. The appointment was set for Friday. He never showed up. He never called to cancel, either. When contacted, he said he had a family emergency. If this is true, our sincere condolences. To Rommel's credit after being contacted to see what had happened, he offered to refer us to someone else. But not knowing who that person is, our phone number ends up out there with no way to look up their reputation, not to mention that some calls from "unknown numbers" end up silenced :-( I literally just spent my entire summer going in circles with a variety of projects from deck repair to fencing with nothing to show for it. (If someone had told us when we became homeowners that it would be a full time job to find help, I never would have believed them.) I try to look on the bright side: "Bidenomics" must be working out really well for so many businesses of this type to pass up so much work and still pay the bills. read more

Hi Romelle, thanks for scheduling a time with me to meet in person, to only cancel last minute (literally). I only decided to fly down and meet you in person (I'm from Northern California) for a business arrangement. We had a big project we wanted help with and more permanent role with our team as an onsite handyman. However you said you had to cancel because your child has cancer. (I'm sorry to hear) however probably a more professional response would have been: "Sorry I have to reschedule, my child is currently sick and I need to go to the hospital, can we find another time to meet?" Your excuse?: "My kid has cancer is more important to me him all over" (Your words) For anyone looking for a handyman, this was my experience. Your miles may vary with this one. read more

Rommel and Ana did a fantastic job for me. First of all, my call/text was answered in a timely manner, they understood what I needed done, and were able to finish the job they were on, and got me on their schedule the same day. Three of the four handymen I called did not want to build some cabinets for me, thank goodness for Rommel and Ana. Before even starting the job, they helped me move totes out of the way, and then swept the area clean. When the job was complete, I noticed that they had torn down all the cardboard for me, placed the cabinets right where I wanted them, swept the area again and left my garage cleaner than it was when they arrived. You will not be disappointed having them complete your list of items you need done. read more

I found Happy Handy Man & Rommel, after trying Angie's List TWICE! I needed a shed I had purchased assembled. Being new to the area I decided to go with Angie's List since they had "background check" all of their brokered out servicemen. The first guy Angie's List tried to send over called said he was running 30 minutes late (no big deal) 30 minutes turned into never coming over despite calling the tech and kept getting 30 more mins 30 more mins 45 minutes and NEVER showed. Said he'd be there the next day NEVER showed. Angie's List said they will send out a different person (never showed). I started googling handymen in the area and found Happy Handy Man. Rommel is the best! He is polite, on time, fair pricing, stands by his word and by his work. Came over at the time he said he was going to, assembled the shed and everything was perfect. I suggest calling Rommel for ALL AND ANY work needed that he does. I will use him for all projects in the near and distant future. I wish I found him the first time, would have made it stress free the first time! Thanks Again!!!! read more
