Fast food done the right way. This cute little burger joint is located in a prestiguous embassy district of Oslo, amidst high end retail stores, hip bars, cozy coffee shops and restaurants, and is impossible to miss because of its location on the street corner. The moment I enter the joint the familiar scent of fried potatoes and meat hits me like a brick, and I immediately crave a tasty burger. A friendly cook takes my order, chosen from a nice selection of burgers, of which includes BBQ, Salsa, Vegetarian, Garlic and the one I had, Blue Cheese.
After a little while my food is done, conceived in the delicate timeline between obviously pre-made fast food and handmade gourmet food. As I unpack my burger my nostrils are filled with a delightful mixture of burger fat and blue cheese particles, and I start to salivate slightly. The meat is perfectly done, a nice bonus for a burger that is clearly made from high quality meat. It's incredibly juicy and tastes phenomenal, with a selection of toppings even Ron Swanson would approve of: lettuce, thin cucumber slices and homemade blue cheese sauce. An often overlooked but essential part of the burger, the bread, also shines here. It's baked by themselves, and meets the parameters of a good burger bread. The fried potatoes are pretty standard, fried wedges, generously coated in the typical Norwegian pommes frites seasoning - but they fill their role just perfect.
I leave a happy, full man, and I will return soon. read more
