This is the train station in Malahide. It's not very big station. There are two platforms. Platform…read more1 is usually for the Dart (the Dublin Area Rapid Transit train). Malahide is the last stop for the Dart so that train ends here and then goes back south to either Greystones or Bray. Platform 2 (and sometimes 1) is for the commuter train that goes to/from Dublin city centre (Connolly, Tara Street, or Pearse) to/from either Balbriggan, or Dundalk, or Drogheda. Most of the station is outdoors. A large part of platform 1 is covered, but most of platform 2 isn't. There is a small waiting room on either side. The room on platform 2 tends to be closed after 9pm. There's a bridge to walk from each platform and a lift as well. There's a read out screen on each platform telling you of the next train arrival/departure. Since this is a small station there are no toilet facilities. There's a mineral/pop/soda machine on platform 1, but nothing on 2. During the day there's a small coffee/snack cart in the parking lot. If you enter the station on the platform 1 side there's two ticket kiosks to buy a train ticket or buy/top up a leap card. If you have a lot of change there's a limit to how much change you can put in the machine. There's also an attendant at a desk who's there until about 9pm. If you walk down the road (Dublin Road) and go down the stairs to enter on platform 2 there's one ticket machine there. They tend to close the gate to platform 2 after 8pm, so you'll have to enter on platform 1 and walk over the bridge to the other platform. If you're visiting Dublin it's easy to take the Dart to Malahide. Malahide is a small enough town you can come here for a day trip, or you can stay here, and take the Dart to/from Dublin. The station isn't fancy, but it does it's job.

Even returning to a red sunset and stopping off anywhere for a stroll along the coast(especially between Dun Laoghaire and Booterstown). Keep an eye out for the odd bit of poetry printed around the inside walls of your carriage, and more recently, the occasional massive billboard with prints from Rasher. The DART supports art, apparently. Don't forget though, no matter how much more comfortable it is, ní do chosa suíochán!

Sutton Dart Station is right on the seafront and is lovely. You walk off the dart to lovely sea air…read more- not so favourable in wet and windy conditions mind you, but still very nice nonetheless. One strange thing is that they have a little coffee shack there, and I have never once seen it open, and I am there maybe once a week. I don't know if it's closed or what - but it always has the shutters down. Very strange. The location is about a ten minute walk from Sutton Cross - where the village/Superquinn is located. It's also opposite Suttonians Rugby Club.

That said, even on a summers day, it can be quite chilly. If you ware walking towards Baldoyle, you can exit onto Station Road from platform two, so no need to take the stairs to leave the station. If you are going towards Burrow Road, there is a short cut via a path from the back of the carpark (best avoided if you are walking alone, late at night). Nothing more to add.

Checking out the connections at Connolly Station, the next train was heading to this station, which a quick check on Google maps had it coming up as a small Irish seaside town. So off we jumped on the train and approximately an hour later, winding it's way along the coast, the train deposited us off at this quaint little railway station which was also the terminus. The station is only two platforms, and if you look down on its surface, you can clearly spot how it was extended. Right outside the station is the bus connection to one side and the other side is a beautiful beach. It's a pretty little spot, the railway station does its job and hence no complaints. The location is very nicely lit and the design of it is very easy to navigate and figure out, even if it is your first time here. There is security all around so I felt safe while I was here, waiting for my tour to begin. I will say I do wish there was more seating because as soon as I got up to grab a coffee, people were trying to swoop in and take my spot. I also wish there was heating here, I felt like an ice cube while I was waiting around in the seating area. There is a handful of places to grab some food and drinks and the coffee stands had some reasonably priced coffee that I decided to get while waiting. The flavor was nice and helped keep me warm while I sat and waited! Bathrooms were also very clean but got busy very quick when the station started getting more and more people in as the morning was progressing.

She was short, blonde hair, blue eyes, and looked really distressed so I felt bad. She asked me to buy her food and cigarettes. I said I'd help with food but not cigarettes, but she kept pushing. We went into a shop and something just felt off, but I still felt guilty so I ended up getting her a cheap meal after. Afterwards, security told me she's known for doing this all the time and it's basically a scam. Just putting it out there so people are aware. Better to be safe than sorry.

Tara Street Dart station has been jazzed up recently with new turn-styles that are built…read morepractically on the platform so you don't have a hope if you were thinking of DARTing and dashing! Like at all city centre stations, security has been tightened mightily in the past few years so ticketless chancers beware! Although technically on the South-side, I always jump off at Tara when I'm heading to the North-side for some shopping. There's some dispute among my acquaintances over whether Connolly or Tara Street is actually closer to the O'Connell Street/Henry Street area (ok, dispute is probably a bit strong of a word for it!). I go with Tara every time but really it's much of a muchness. The station itself has well-stocked newsagents downstairs to meet the newspaper and coffee demands of busy commuters. Be a bit careful in this area if you're running for one of the later DARTs - it gets a little bit lonely by dark.

By far the easiest City Centre station to navigate, Tara Street station is the clean, well lit sort…read moreof mid-city stop that keeps travellers confident. While its single pub has been shuttered a good long while, there is a rather well-appointed news stand just outside of the wide bank of turnstiles. For tickets and information that (ok, is a little grudging at 7am on a Wednesday) can get you where you need to go anywhere along the DART line, queue up (but be assertive as the lines can get a little blurry and anyone can jump ahead) and ask at the booths just to your right as you enter. Also, here's a bonus for regular commuters at Tara street: much like its larger brother Connolly, this station is seen as a key area to target young urban professionals -several times a year companies will stake out the front of the station to offer free samples and give-aways. Keep than in mind next time you're thinking of whether to take the bus or DART!

Beachwood Luas Stop was somewhere that I used to get off on my way to the Milltown stop when I…read morelived in Rathmines because it possessed a very special entity, something no other stop on the habitually lackluster but pleasantly leafy Green Luas line had, its very own Mortons grocery store and newsagents! This Mortons fortunately had a tobacconist and hence why I often dismounted the Luas prematurely so that I could get off, buy my cigarettes from this shop stationed within the perimeters of the stop itself and hence no distance required to be walked, then get back on the Luas and happily go a further two stops before alighting the Luas at my final destination. The Milltown stop is positioned in an isolated corner of Rathmines, 15mins walk at least from the main village and so unsurprisingly I never came across a shop from the Milltown stop to where I lived and it for this reason it seemed that the initiative of jumping off then back on at Beechwood seemed so great having either forgotten to pick them up in town prior to boarding at St. Stephen's Green or only realizing I was lacking in any tobacco whilst on the Luas making my way home.

I do not go to this stop that often but when I do go it is very convenient. I only go here for my…read moredentist Beechwood Dental who is located right around the corner from the Beechwood Luas Stop. It is always clean at this stop and not many people fill up the Luas. It is located in a very quiet but also suburban area. The stop has what all others have, the screen which lets you know when the next Luas is coming, bench and not very covering cover (if it supposed to cover from the rain I think they either ran out of money and could not make the full cover or they just were not from Ireland where it is known that rain comes from all sides and it rains hard) and the stand where you can buy your tickets.
