The inside decor was very eclectic with art, paper stars hanging from the ceiling, and mix-matched furniture. It felt very fun. We chose to sit in a booth by the window around 1:00. There was only one other table of patrons when we arrived. It was very cold inside, but it looked clean. I ordered a ham sandwich with chips. My mom ordered a pick two with half BLT and a half cup of chicken and wild rice soup. The wait was slow for some cold sandwiches and premade soup. My sandwich was good but it just tasted like regular deli meat on white sandwich bread. The chips came from a basket with two different types of sun chips, which were not my favorite. My mom's soup did not have any chicken or meat in it, just the broth and lots of beans. It was also very spicy, which unfortunately didn't work with her dietary restriction. She wasn't able to eat much of it. We both got drinks, as well, but never refills. Our waitress didn't come back to check on us. Together the bill was in the mid $30s + tax and a tip. It just felt overpriced for mediocre food and service. Cute place, but I probably won't go back.

Because of this, I've sometimes experienced when the kitchen has put a "hold" on new orders. Thus, I have indeed waited for up to half-an-hour for my meal to arrive, no matter how small my order. I believe that the food is served in order , which is fair. However, the meals that I've received here almost always have been prepared exactly to my specifications and satisfaction, so I have waited willingly. Their steak filet has gone up in price, but hasn't everything? Anyhow, good dining choices are sparse in the Osceola area, so I'm planning on returning again and again.

There is not only nothing wrong with that, it is sometimes exactly what you need. Exotic flavor combinations and ingredients that aren't in your regular shopping cart is not what you want. A simple sandwich, BLT for her, Club for me, with crinkle cut fries gets the job done sometimes. It satisfies that 5th grader that lurks inside of all of us no matter how old we are. I also think the older we get, the more satisfied we are with safe, neutral flavors. A pinch of salt, the indication of a whisper of pepper, a patina of mayo. We were in town for my wife to visit a quilting cornerstone spot for her. We are retired now, and closer than we had been over in MD, so we hopped in the car and made a 3 day odessy, good time had by all. Our visit got off to a little of a rough start, [at the time an unexplained delay after tea delivery - the other staff could have taken the initiative of coming to take our order, but I don't know the internal dynamics here] however the young lady bounced back well, and there are no complaints on actual service or the food. I suspect it is quite popular with the locals, I see a lot of lofty praise in the reviews, and our hotel clerk recommended we try it.

We ordered the green tomatoes to share and they were yummy. Probably the best I ever had. My friends were both satisfied with their meal, one ordered a salad, and the other one had a chicken sandwich. Unfortunately, for me, I ordered a hamburger with fried okra. The okra was pretty good, however the hamburger was absolutely inedible. Dry and flavorless! I took one bite and couldn't believe how bad it was! Worst of all, when I complained the girl said "Oh, sorry about that." and walked away. I didn't want to make a scene, since I was with new friends. Needless to say, I will not be going back.
