Howie's Diner is not too bad for a truck stop diner. It looks like they're putting some money back into this location with the new pumps, which is a positive sign. The breakfast meal I had was good, and the pricing isn't too hard on the wallet. Overall, I was pleased with my breakfast and would consider stopping by again.

Service very friendly and quick. Food was great and plentiful. Pancake lopped over the edge of the plate, goetta was crispy. Recommend!

I've lived within a few miles of Howie's Diner for YEARS (I drive by it every single day), and I'm so mad at myself that it took me so long to stop in and try it out. My boyfriend and I were craving a hearty breakfast meal - not a chain restaurant - and he suggested Howie's. Honestly, I was hesitant to agree because this place is quite literally inside of a gas station / truck stop. Let me just say, I am SO glad I was talked in to going here and I can't wait to go back again and again. The service was great! Our server was friendly and attentive. They have GREAT coffee - I know it isn't hard to make a cup of coffee but Howie's coffee is something special. I ordered the Hoosier Eggs Breakfast with a side of goetta and it was delicious. I was starving and barely finished half of my meal because it was so much food. They offer a lengthy menu with great lunch/dinner options that I can't wait to try soon. I'll definitely be back to Howie's!

Howie's is your classic, American diner serving up home style and hearty meals 24/7. The couple of times I've visited this establishment has been during breakfast and both times have been excellent. The waitresses are friendly and the food comes out quick. Located adjoining a gas station, it's a local pit stop for truckers and locals looking to grab a hot and fresh meal. But don't be fooled by the locale, this diner is well deserving of many praise and will fill an empty stomach. The portions are generous and the food is fresh. The warm, Homemade biscuits are some of the best in the area. The restaurant is clean and can get busy during brunch but it's usually quick to get a table. Give this place a visit if you're looking to cure a hangover or just need a nice meal served alongside some friendly faces. I'll certainly be back again and supporting local business always feels better than some of the dollar menu conglomerates.

Biscuits and gravy and the omelets are the best around. Breakfast any time always pleases.

My husband and i stopped in last week for breakfast. There were approx 4 tables seated and two new tables of two that came in behind us. Honestly the entire place felt dirty and sloppy. We sat for 15 minutes while the only waitress in the restaurant took care of all the tables including the two that came in after us because she apparently knew them. Both tables got their drinks and orders input to the cook before we were even approached. (We were never approached) We left. With one cook who did nothing to help the waitress and one waitress who honestly looked tired and sloppy and could not be bothered acknowledging us or get us water and coffee , we just didn't feel like the breakfast would measure up to our former visits. We went to Bob Evans instead.

Just past Elvis is a glass refrigerator case with shelves of pie and cake slices. There is a counter and stools straight ahead, and memorabilia on the walls. We sat in a cozy booth and our server was prompt and courteous. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, served with provolone, arugula, bacon, and Southwest ranch dressing, with a side of well seasoned fries. It was quite good with a decent piece of chicken. My husband had the turkey club wrap, with the same contents, but chose onion rings as his side. They were fresh and tasty. A quick and satisfying lunch. Bonus: one parking spot designated for veterans. Thank you.

Imagine my surprise when I found out that the Waffle House was open! Let's be serious, we aren't surprised. Waffle House has no family. Upon entering, there is no mistake where you are. Lights, windows, floor tiles. Everything checks out. You could scrub the name off everything at this establishment and the moment you walked in you would say, "oh, yeah. Waffle House. Nice." Some things just have That Look™ or Those Patrons™ or That Lawsuit™. Everything you've read about this place is true. In every location. Everywhere. Patron get a waitress pregnant? Check. Cook fistfight man parking his car? Check. Waffle with a cigarette butt cooked into it? Check. My saying is usually "hope for the worst, it's the least that can happen." Knowing the bare minimum for Waffle House will set you right up for experiencing their bare maximum. And that's exactly what I got! I ordered 1 (one) waffle, (2) Eggs, and (sausage). I'm a bacon man through and through, but the Waffle House Deities™ were whispering in my ear. Or screaming from the kitchen. I did not order the sticky table. That came as a bonus for dining there. The food came out and was not disappointed. The eggs were flat top grilled. Probably by a man working under an alias and getting paid cash under the table. They were a good constancy. A little S-n-P, and down the hatch they went. The sausage patties were round. As patties usually are. Don't let the dry, bland exterior food you. These actually had some good flavor. As you face it from the street is a little kitchen where we ordered and purchased some huge chicken salad sandwiches for 5$. There is a little seating on that side, but on the right is the bar/ restaurant. With more seating and service. Between the two areas mentioned is a newly remodeled event venue with a stage where various music, comedy and mystery theater occurs and a calendar was available. Apparently this place is rentable and has its own bar set up where potentially 250 people could be seated. The place brags about Indians fried chicken but we didn't get any. I am so disappointed (and a little irked), that I paid so much to receive so little. My partner got the chicken tenders, which they described as extremely tough and chewy. Additionally, my dining companion and I were seated directly in front of the door, which made for a very chilly dinner. Overall, a disappointment, and I'm not sure that I'll be back.
