You can order fresh grapes by the crate in 36lb. increments which can make for easy mix and match. There are a handful of regional delivery locations and I was fortunate to have one local in San Diego. They charge $30 for handling fee and it seems to be the same no matter how much you order. Last year, I bought 216lbs. of Cabernet Sauvignon and was very happy with the condition they arrived; cold, clean, and full. There was not any suspect material in the clusters so in they went to the crusher/destemmer at Curds and Wine, San Diego. It would be nice to know specifically where the grapes come from instead of just "Northern" or "Southern". Also, the wooden plywood crates are difficult to deal with, I suppose you could re-purpose them.

Just bottles last night with my family and friends and happy to say that it's been all worth it and can't wait to do it again! The biggest help was the support I received form the guys at West Coast right from the start, helped with selection and some of the trade offs between doing a bit of several different varieties vs. more of a few. The quality of the grapes was great, no issues. Their Cabernet sauvignon were the best, if you are a beginner to a master - you can't go wrong. I stayed around the day that they delivered and got to try all of the grapes. Everything looked great producing a lot of juice. The West Coat owners stayed around making sure that everything was good, clear that they take pride in their grapes. Only thing that i would have liked would have been to know where the grapes actually came from. They had northern and central listed, I figured I would go with northern, and when they arrived they all had the same label. At the end I didn't know if everyone who ordered the less expensive grapes got a deal or if I got the short end of the deal. One thing that I will tell you upfront, do it for the love not because you think it will be inexpensive and your own.. Each 36lb case produced around 10 .750 ml of wine. Figure that you need to rent the crusher, press, pump and corker if you have the carboys. I buying from these guys again this year and doing it all at Curds and Wine in San Diego. I didn't talk much about Curds and Wine in San Diego, if you live in San Diego - it's the place to get your grapes and everything else you need. Their pricing is great Nd they will help you every step of the way. You go get your grapes at the storage facility, you miss out on their service. No mater if you are a beginner or a master, Curds and Wine is the place to deal with no mater how far you live from there!

We chose to sit outside because we had our dog with us and there are signs advising no dogs are allowed in the building. They have offerings of beer, wine and empanadas and we sampled them all. The bartender was very nice and made suggestions. They also had convenient public restrooms and it was a quick walk to get the ferry back. I like that even on a weekend it wasn't crowded and we were able to enjoy the weather and have some lovely conversation. There was also music playing even though we were outside and it added to the ambiance. I would definitely stop in if you're in the area.

So when I saw he was at the EB Passport event and pouring inside Two Mile we had to make a stop. Specializing in tropical fruit and dessert wines puts many people off but everyone should really give him a try. His wines are done well, very well and they are oh so good. We started with Mango Wine. This is made with 100% mango. It smelled sugary sweet but it was crisp and refreshing and went down smooth and easy. The Mango dessert wine followed. It had the same sugary sweet smell and this time, it tasted that way. The persimmon wine was next and was the same and the mango wine, delicious! We finished with his signature Chocolate Dessert wine. It had a chocolate nose. It tasted like chocolate wine. Summer is around the corner. Stock up with Adams Point Wine for the next heat wave. You'll thank me later.

I generally adore stickies and am thrilled when I find a good local one - sadly, that was not the case here. To be fair, all I tried was the persimmon sweet wine and the mango wine and I believe they're known for the chocolate wine. After trying the two listed above, I really didn't want to try anything else. The mango wine was reminiscent of a rancid mango snapple and the persimmon wine had a distressing turpentine top note. Based on how much I "enjoyed" the wine, I'd give them a single star, but I like the idea of local wineries, so an extra star for that.

Pacheco Ranch Winery was a magical spot to get married in a gorgeous outdoor setting. From the…read morebeginning, Deb and Herb Rowland, the owners, were so thoughtful and gracious; an absolute pleasure to work with. We loved that Deb provided great resources for vendors she has worked with, but that she is also flexible and willing to work with others you want to bring in. They clearly take so much pride in what they do and it absolutely shows in the warm and personal experience you have at Pacheco. The property is adorned with citrus trees and flowering vines, beside the hillside vineyards, waterfall stream and the lovely old farmhouse. It's tucked into a small valley, protected from the wind. In the evening, strings of bistro lights make the dining and dance area twinkly and romantic. Our guests loved the space and kept commenting on how beautiful, relaxing and unique it was. Deb answered all of our questions leading up to the event very helpfully and provided a site plan to help vendors understand where to install things like the tables, dance floor, bar and buffet. We really appreciated how responsive she was and how willing to troubleshoot any unexpected issues. Beyond which, she and Herb and their employee Ann are so sweet and fun to be around. We're very happy we picked Pacheco as our wedding venue. If you're looking for somewhere personal, beautiful and one of a kind to tie the know, you will love it too.

The grounds are beautiful, I see why many people choose this spot for weddings and parties. The old ranch house is still owned by a descendent of Ignacio Pacheco - for whose family our town, some shopping centers, and a bunch of streets (including Rowland) in Marin are all named. We were there on a beautiful November day at an event remembering a friend who had recently passed. Even though the event itself was bittersweet, the management at the ranch did an exceptional job of making our visit memorable. The family provided parking assistance, led all the guests to the beautiful outdoor space, and kept the food and beverages flowing during the memorial. I will definitely think of Pacheco for our next event!
