Having nice ladies with great customer service in the front is always a great experience. Their dental hygienist Lily Pham is such a pleasure. She makes you feel like she really cares about you and your teeth's health. She will use a skinny tool to measure your gum health. It kinda hurts if your gums had inflammation, with that tool, the lower score you get the better. All that aside, the deep cleaning was a game changer. The staff is kind, patient and make my mom feel welcome and cared for. They are careful to include me in the communication process, so I can make it easier on my mom. Dr. Parikh invested the time to come up with a treatment plan that aligned with my mom's insurance, to minimize her out of pocket costs while also minimizing disruption to her ability to easily use her teeth as these treatments happen over time. Both he and his wife (the other Dr. Parikh) are kind, caring providers, and it's clear their leadership in the practice carries over to everyone else, because everyone working there exhibits the same, thoughtful bedside manner. Today, I went in for a cleaning. I checked in and waited about ten minutes before heading back with Christina who was also my hygienist about six months ago. She did a great job again and tried to be as careful as possible. Asked me a couple of times if I was alright, and I was fine. At the end of every cleaning, Dr. Ahn comes in, asks me how I'm doing, checks my teeth and the cleaning job, and asks me if I'm having any dental issues.

My experience with Dr. Vinh and his staff was excellent…read more They worked me in as a new patient on the same day(!) to examine a tooth that was having severe pain from a filling two months prior. Dr. Vinh examined the tooth, took x-rays as well as actual images of the filling and found that the filling was on an area where the body was rejecting it due to it being outside of the biological width of the area. He explained what was happening by showing a quick video as well as diagrams. He reccomended an extraction, after discussing and explaining other non-invasive alternatives, and offered to perform it at that moment. I decided to proceed with the extraction. They provided instructions for care and Dr. Vinh personally called me in the afternoon to check on my recovery. Aetna Insurance (PPO) covered most of the procedure, and the out of pocket expense was literally 1/10th of what I would have been subjected to at my previous dentist. I am grateful to not be in pain, and would reccomend Sequoia Smiles and Dr. Vinh as a primary dentist.

To give you a small understanding…read more- I'm the guy who 99% of the time doesn't like complaining and refrains from making any sort of scene in public. I try to be an understanding person when a service/food experience is just horrible to try not to get anyone fired. Somehow when I leave I'm able to look at the positives and I walk away just not going back to that location again. I'm going to change that today as I am now fed up completely. I initially called this dentistry on the recommendation of a friend. I called for Dr. Noorani and apparently he was booked for almost two months. I have a root canal that needs to be done and so I was obviously in tons of pain. They tried to have me go with another dentist at the office. Due to my horrible experience with bad dentists I did not want to take a chance and I told them to just give me Noorani's next available appointment. I waited just to get a call the day before that my appointment is cancelled. The office KNEW i was in pain and that I waited for this dentist yet I get a call almost two months later with them trying to throw the same dentist that I initially declined. I was extremely upset as I was in tons of pain but I gave it another chance (people make mistakes right?). The front desk lady said she would book me for a consultation appointment (with a different dentist a week and a half later) to just view it so they can prescribe me medication for pain control/antibiotics and then the Monday afterwards would give me my appointment with Noorani in the morning. The first Monday comes around for my consultation and I was still out of town for work, I call to let them know and ask them if they can just do the consultation on the same day (Noorani appointment) and ill get through the pain till then. She then tells me I never booked your appointment for next Monday. When I asked why she said "I wasn't sure if you wanted it". So you booked me for the consultation on Monday but didn't book the main appointment that I have been waiting for over 2 months (close to three now) with the busiest dentist in the world?! She then tells me my first appointment wasn't a consultation and Dr. Noorani was going to start the procedure... I had never been more confused in my life. I was completely silent over the phone and then she gives the final blow by saying that Dr. Noorani has also said he will only do the root canal if I let him also do the crown!!!?? This was something we spoke about the first day I called and they specifically knew I was going to another dentist for my crown and he is a dentist that doesn't have an issue with it. BUT ALL OF A SUDDEN he wants to do my crown which is very expensive almost $1000 over my primary dentist. By far my worst experience ever from a medical professional. You would hope that people in this field care about your medical needs and at-least stay true to their word. Calling a patient 2 months later the day before an appointment to cancel and making sudden ultimatums is completely unethical and to be frank upsetting. Man, I feel a little better now. Is this why people do this? Hopefully I don't see you yelpers again. Take care

My wife had a female and she was gentle. That's not the problem. The problem is the upselling. We got in with their $59 first time client cleaning and examine. Great deal! But I also assumed upselling was in order because of the sale and I've had many dealings with Korean businesses. I'm Korean BTW. Then, he proceeded to begin setting up for a deep clean without asking me first. He simply stated I needed it and assumed I would agree. I stopped him and asked the price difference and he said it was substantial. I told him to do a regular cleaning and he seemed a little disappointed but he did. I know my wife has some dental needs but they told her she needed $3000 in work. Maybe. But I didn't feel 100% comfy with that diagnosis because of the way they went about it with me. The office is set up nice. The waiting area is huge with plenty of couches, TV, tons of magazines, and even a full body massage chair! But some lady put hair grease all over the headrest so I didn't use it. Yuck. The receptionist was friendly and the employees were helpful. Their gift package had some good stuff in it as well. But the assumed acceptance of the upselling was annoying and didn't settle well with me. It makes the client feel uncomfortable.

MALPRACTICE AND NIGHTMARE!!!…read more Please do not fall for her background description on her website! She does not specialized in implant dentistry at all!!! My orthodontist referred me to Dr. Kim. Even though it was a one-hour drive, I still chose to see Dr. Kim because trust was something that could not be replaced by distance. She did my dental cleaning, tooth extraction and bone grafting. However, my nightmare started with bone grafting.... I needed dental implant for two of my teeth, after she did the bone grafting I went back for a checkup about 3 month later; Dr. Kim touched my gum during my checkups and scheduled me for the implant. I did not realized at the time but: No X-ray or CT before and after bone grafting. Dr. Kim simply used her "magic hand" to touch my gum and decided it was ready to place the implant. On the day of implant, there was no X-ray or CT scan either, she simply cut my gum open and a few moments later, she told me my bone was too thin to do the implant. She had to close my gum...she then suggested me to see an oral surgeon. She said the only way I could get a dental implant was to take a small piece of jawbone from my body and place it in the missing tooth area to create ideal bone condition for implant. (None of the oral surgeons I seek for second opinion agreed with Dr. Kim's opinion, they all insisted my case was simple and general dental implant was good to go) Poor bedside manner: I was lying there, numbed (local anesthesia), my gum was cut wide open..., all I heard was Dr. Kim was running here and there, looking for things, murmured negatively and then told me that she could do nothing. Yes. With my gum was still cut open and not being able to talk yet. Outdated and irresponsible bone grafting/dental implant: 1). Here in Dr. Kim's office, you will not be treated with PRP/PRF procedures, which is to draw patient's own blood and centrifuge before bone grafting to optimize healing. In the email I addressed this question, asking her why they she did not apply this treatment; she explained, "PRP/PRF can help for better healing but nothing is guaranteed". Then why the oral surgeons I visited for second opinion use this method without any hesitation. They all take PRP granted as a necessary procedure of bone grafting. One thing for sure, this office has no such machine to centrifuge blood. 2). Dr. Kim's office does not have any CT scanner equipment, in which case how could she handle bone issues before placing her scalpel?! Oh, instead of using any mature technology, she preferred to open her patient's gum and check bone condition. While we the patients took the pain and risk gum recession issues...it was reckless!!! Funny that when I asked her why you didn't prescribe me any CT scan beforehand? She said, "It's cheap". You know what, this whole dental office is cheap! As a dentist, you want to set foot in oral surgeon's area (dental implant) but reluctant to invest in a cone beam CT machine. At least you could have suggested your patients to get CT scan somewhere else. Honestly, Dr. Kim can handle general dental cleaning and some other regular checkup. But if you are like me, who is looking for dental implant, reading online reviews to identify and determine the right doctor to visit, please at least avoid Dr. Kim. She obviously is not knowledgeable enough to handle difficult miscellaneous problems. Please go seeking an oral surgeon, who specialize in tooth extraction and implant!
