I am very dissatisfied with the way Rick runs his family business and the job performed. We hired him to upgrade our breaker box, add a microwave circuit and check our home for regulation compliance. While the box is working fine, the lighting repair does not. After completing the job, he apparently was not ready for the inspector because he let his license expire and we had to wait almost a month to have the final inspection. After experiencing problems with his work a while later and wanting to check or repair the lighting in addition to other work we would happily pay for, he ingored me. After calling three times with the promise of scheduling, and sending him my information for a call back three times, I am done trying to get his help and will simply find another electrician. I wouldn't do business with people who guarantee their work, nor professionals who perform work without proper certification. I recommend finding another professional. read more

He had good reviews but he just didn't live up to them. We were looking for someone to install 4 ceiling fans. Found his reviews to to more than good, so called. First day he was planned to come out he didn't show up so we called him and rescheduled the work. Then for scheduled work we called him and he started talking about other jobs and said he left us a message. On third day scheduled, we contacted him again and he said he called and left a message. Because he didn't answer he scheduled other jobs. No message. Then he told us he had the number written down wrong. Three strikeouts. In today's world with all this technology, he was able to read back our correct number but not call us on it. read more

Very satisfied customer thanks to Rick at Howell Electric. The outlets in our kitchen stopped working all of a sudden, so we definitely went into a panic to plug the refrigerator (and food) back up asap. I tried calling a couple of other 24 hour electricians (it was 6:00 pm) and no one answered but Rick. He was very helpful even over the phone; attempting to assist my husband and I by having me take a picture of my breaker and send to him! Now that's service! Needless to say, we couldn't figure it out, so Rick came in the time frame he said he would, was professional and took all of 10 minutes to fix our problem. We will definitely use his services again! read more

First of all let me say that Rick Howell is one of the most Honest person I met. He saved me easily a minimum $ 4,500 to $ 10,000 Dollars. What happened is I heard a loud pop sound from the Electrical Panel outside and then I lost all power in my Home. I called and Scheduled an inspection of my Electrical Panel with another Electric Company that is located in Riverside. That Company sent out a technician who told me I had the worst possible scenario on my hands, I was told my whole Panel had burned out and that I was in need of a complete panel of $4,500 and that it could cost up to $ 10,000 if walls had to be knocked down and I need all knew wiring throughout my Home. I was stressed out severely. I then Called Rick of Howell Electric. Rick had done some work for me in the past I really liked his work and him so I called him up and explained the problem. Rick told me he would be there in 40 minutes and look at my electrical problem. Rick arrived at my residence in the time he said and immediately inspected my outside electrical panel. Rick started laughing after inspecting my panel and said " There isn't anything wrong with your panel, it's just a little outdated is all " Then Rick Came inside my home and checked my electrical fixtures and he said all was good. Rick only Charged me $ 85 dollars for the inspection. Rick saved me from being ripped off by this other electric company ( Rightime ). I am so grateful to Rick for his complete Honesty. Rick does excellent work at very reasonable prices. The reason I didn't call rick in the first place is I lost his phone # and I needed a Technician asap because I felt it was an Emergency Situation. Again Thank God for Rick. Scott Bentley read more

I called Rick because of some electrical issues I had with my main breaker and my power flickering in and out. When I called Rick, right off the bat he was very kind and attentive. He asked about the problem I was experiencing and I expressed I didn't feel safe in the house. He stated this was more of an emergency case and made it out the next day to meet with my dad. He was able to determine the problem and fix at a more than reasonable cost. He was very informative and let me know the do's and don'ts and some extra tips regarding my AC unit and the amount of power it uses. He suggested getting it serviced regularly to make sure it isn't putting a strain on the electrical panel. He stated to call him at ANY time if I have any questions, concerns or if I need him to come back out to take a look. I get a lot of good service when I go places or need repairs, etc. but Rick was beyond exceptional. I will definitely be calling him back for further electrical work and recommend him to anyone needing his assistance. Thank you Rick! One Happy Customer! read more
