I am very dissatisfied with the way Rick runs his family business and the job performed. We hired him to upgrade our breaker box, add a microwave circuit and check our home for regulation compliance. While the box is working fine, the lighting repair does not. After completing the job, he apparently was not ready for the inspector because he let his license expire and we had to wait almost a month to have the final inspection. After experiencing problems with his work a while later and wanting to check or repair the lighting in addition to other work we would happily pay for, he ingored me. After calling three times with the promise of scheduling, and sending him my information for a call back three times, I am done trying to get his help and will simply find another electrician. I wouldn't do business with people who guarantee their work, nor professionals who perform work without proper certification. I recommend finding another professional. read more

First of all let me say that Rick Howell is one of the most Honest person I met. He saved me easily a minimum $ 4,500 to $ 10,000 Dollars. What happened is I heard a loud pop sound from the Electrical Panel outside and then I lost all power in my Home. I called and Scheduled an inspection of my Electrical Panel with another Electric Company that is located in Riverside. That Company sent out a technician who told me I had the worst possible scenario on my hands, I was told my whole Panel had burned out and that I was in need of a complete panel of $4,500 and that it could cost up to $ 10,000 if walls had to be knocked down and I need all knew wiring throughout my Home. I was stressed out severely. I then Called Rick of Howell Electric. Rick had done some work for me in the past I really liked his work and him so I called him up and explained the problem. Rick told me he would be there in 40 minutes and look at my electrical problem. Rick arrived at my residence in the time he said and immediately inspected my outside electrical panel. Rick started laughing after inspecting my panel and said " There isn't anything wrong with your panel, it's just a little outdated is all " Then Rick Came inside my home and checked my electrical fixtures and he said all was good. I called Rick because of some electrical issues I had with my main breaker and my power flickering in and out. When I called Rick, right off the bat he was very kind and attentive. He asked about the problem I was experiencing and I expressed I didn't feel safe in the house. He stated this was more of an emergency case and made it out the next day to meet with my dad. He was able to determine the problem and fix at a more than reasonable cost. He was very informative and let me know the do's and don'ts and some extra tips regarding my AC unit and the amount of power it uses. He suggested getting it serviced regularly to make sure it isn't putting a strain on the electrical panel. He stated to call him at ANY time if I have any questions, concerns or if I need him to come back out to take a look.
