Howard doors has a great product, but the office staff is horrible. Brian has an extremely bad attitude and I don't know why they'd want him working there. Surely they can find someone better than him.. He was extremely rude to me. I can't imagine him speaking to a man like that so I can only assume that he has a problem with women. My experience couldn't have been better. I needed to replace the molding across the top of a door in my almost 75 y.o. home. Home Depot, Lowes had nothing matching, not even in their catalogs. I drove out to Howard's with the old piece. The guy at the counter took one look and said "sure, we have that." We went to the yard, he found the right bin and said "how much you need"? Says I "three feet should do it." He rummaged around, pulled out a 5-ft piece and said, "this is the shortest one I have - no charge." Great experience. read more

There are "cuts" you pick out stuff....fixtures.....appliances....paint.....upgrades.....once you do it.....there's no going back...one "cut" we missed was a door that seperates the master bedroom from the bathroom...no problem you say....just go to Lowe's and Poof.....problem solved....... W R O N G!!!!! The doorway is TEN FEET HIGH!!!! Checked around....decided on Howard's... THE RIGHT DECISION!!!! FANTASTIC PEOPLE!!!! The team at Howard's is great. I ordered a slider for the back of my house. You can tell the door is well made and quality. Several months after I installed the slider, I had a young kid run right through the screen door. It happens frequently, this time it flew off the house. It busted an inner clip on the slider. Brian worked with me to get the part ordered and replaced. After having difficulties with the supply chain right now, Brian graciously took apart a scrap screen door and gave me all the parts I needed, plus extra wheels and clips for the door. And when I tried to pay, he said it was on the house. Brian went above and beyond and took his time to help me out. Thank you Brian for the help, I appreciate you. read more

Ordered a door through Howard's and the communication was awful! Firstly, When you call this place they act as if you are bothering them , which starts everything off on a bad note. I provided Paul the measurements of the opening and our existing door size. I relied on their expertise to provide the door that would fit the space. Boy was I wrong... I picked up a door that was 2" too short!!!! This may have been a "one off " except for the fact that I've ordered from them before and there was a crucial mistake made on that door as well. Not only did I drive back and forth, spending hours in the car, I had to pay for an additional door that was their mistake to begin with! In the end I was charged twice for a door, when the whole situation could have been avoided by thoroughly communicating with the "customer". In the future it might be a good idea for them as a "business" to provide verification by email or in writing before cutting or fabricating a door. Blaming the customer for your poor communication is NOT a good business practice! On a positive note they are fast at getting doors ordered. However, definitely not worth your time and energy to deal with their bad attitudes and mistakes. read more

Just had a garage side door installed that was made by these guys-WHAT A PC OF CRAP. They couldn't even template the dead bolt area right and is basically useless unless I modify the door jam area. Geez you would think door guys would know a standard striker size is for dead bolts but not these guys. They also use sub-standard materials not fit for a dog house. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS YOUR JUST WASTING YOUR MONEY. read more

Ok so I had Howard's Doors cut the door I brought them to my measurements. Mortising they hinges and asking them to cut the door to fit in the opening measurements I provided. Well it turns out I messed up one of the measurements by a quarter of an inch so the door didn't fit. I brought the door back and explained the problem to Brian and told him what I thought needed to be done. First he didn't embarrass me for my error, second he said something else needed to be done than what I thought, third he said he'd fix the problem right away even though it was very late in the day. While it took me awhile to trust his approach and I didn't really understand his solution, I finally said ok, do it your way. His way worked perfectly. I'm glad he didn't do what I asked. To make this review even better, when I said it was my error and I'd be glad to pay him for fixing my problem, he said 'no charge' just call him to let him know how it turned out. Needed to get a standard bedroom door replaced, went to both lowes and Home Depot and was given quotes of over $200 and with a 2 week wait time for the door to come in. AND they weren't going to measure the old door for me and they weren't going to put the hinges on the new door for me. I was turned on to Howard's Doors by a friend after I needed a custom fit door for my furnace closet at my rental property. They did NOT disappoint. I brought the old door in the Firday before the Thanksgiving holiday week. They got the door done by Tuesday. Fantistic turnaround time. Just before this Xmas I bought two slab doors from a bix box store (not prehung - my mistake but it was too late), and I learned the hard way that you need to still cut them to size. So I called Howards last week (the Monday before Xmas) to see if they could somehow get this cut (I had a guy coming Tuesday afternoon to paint the doors for me along with others). They said that they are short staffed (understandbly becuase of the holiday), but that they would do their best. I also bought their doors for $4 per door less and took mine back to the big box store. Then Tuesday monring I completely forgot I had bought a third slab door an needed to cut it down (I had already painted it once and couldn't return it). They said bring it down. They managed to get all 3 doors done by Tuesday afternoon. Again, amazing turn around time. I was so greatful becuase I didn't have to cancel my painter. Howard, Paul, and staff are very professional, great to work with, and extremely accomidating. Don't ever buy your door at a bix box store. Go to Howards. I would not recommend this business to anyone. Normally I don't write reviews, but if this helps ONE person then I'll be happy. We ordered a door from Howard's Doors and things did not work out well. It took over 11 weeks, yes 11 to get our door. The wrong door was manufactured, there were delays, and the replacement door (after the first wrong door) was broken in transit. I get it, things happen, but Howard really did nothing to make things better. He made inappropriate excuses like, "The manufacturer is a big company and they don't care about the little people." Doesn't everyone just love being called the little people? I pleaded with Howard to call the manufacturer and get things moving faster since our whole remodel was being delayed, but he didn't care enough. When our door finally did arrive I was hoping Howard would maybe, just maybe try to help us expedite things (by perhaps going to the assembler to pick up the door) or perhaps deliver the door to us, but no, he did nothing. That's what you'll get with this company - NOTHING. read more
