When i went to get a second opinion at UCLA with the head of the department there, the UCLA surgeon said to ignore everything this doctor had previously said. I ended up getting a laparoscopy with an excellent surgeon/professor outside UCLA, and I didn't need the absolutely unnecessary oophrectomy. The story doesn't end there. The staff at this office can't deal with billing to save their lives. I've had so many wasted hours between calling Quest and Aetna both, only to find out that the office had billed incorrectly. Visit at your own risk. And in this case, at the risk of being violated, physically, financially, and emotionally.

She listened carefully, answered all of our questions, and never made us feel rushed. We were also impressed with how quickly we were seen and how smoothly everything was handled, including getting the X-ray done. When you're worried about someone you love, that level of care and efficiency means so much. I had been quite sick for several days when I finally went to Westlake Urgent Care and saw Dr. Sonia. She took cultures from my mouth/throat and a sample for a gastrointestinal panel and explained that the results could take a few days. I understood that and was willing to wait. The problem was that I never heard back from the office. After several days, I called and was told the results were still pending. I waited longer, but again, no one contacted me and I received no message or call from Dr. Sonia. Then, on 06/27/26, my pharmacy notified me that I had a prescription ready. I was surprised because I had not been told what my test results showed or why I was being prescribed medication. I picked up the prescription, which was Keflex, and called the office for an explanation. I was told Dr. Sonia wasn't there, so I was left without any real answers. I recently received two separate invoices from two different labs totaling nearly $300 for testing that I never received any results for. I called the office again and was eventually told by someone other than the doctor that I had tested positive for Klebsiella pneumoniae. I then had to research it myself to understand what it was and what it meant, because no one at the office took the time to explain the results or answer my questions. I told him it was upsetting that I was never called. He said that they tried calling me. This is not true since I have no messages or missed calls from them and I was waiting for them to call cell phone is with me 100% of the time. What disappoints me most is not simply the testing or the prescription. It is the lack of communication. When a patient is sick and waiting for test results, I believe they deserve to know what was found, what the treatment is for, and what the next steps should be. I should not have had to learn about my diagnosis from a random person on the other end of the phone a month later and then research it myself. After many years of going to this office, it is sad to say that I will not be returning. There are other urgent care options in the same neighborhood, and I feel I need to find a practice where communication and follow-up are given more attention. I sincerely hope Dr. Sonia and the office take this feedback to heart. I am not writing this review to be mean or unfair. For nearly three weeks, I repeatedly called the office, left multiple voicemails, and never received a callback. As a returning patient, that was incredibly frustrating. At this point, I genuinely believe there may be an issue with the office phone system rather than a lack of concern from the staff. When I previously visited the office, the woman at the front desk was constantly working--answering phones, helping patients, dealing with insurance, and keeping everything moving. She was clearly working hard and doing everything she could. Out of frustration, I eventually called Dr. Vesco's direct line, which said I would receive a callback within 30 minutes. Instead, I got a call back in about 30 seconds--even though it was during the office's lunch break. Both the front desk and Dr. Vesco took the time to help me, resolved my issue quickly, and treated me with kindness. I genuinely appreciated that they interrupted their lunch to make sure I was taken care of. I'm updating my review to three stars because my only real complaint is the difficulty reaching the office by phone. If that communication issue can be fixed, I think it would make a significant difference for patients.

She came in for only a few seconds, said she would prescribe antibiotics and steroids, and left. I expected her to return to explain the diagnosis and treatment plan, but she never came back. We left without a clear explanation. Only later, from the discharge paperwork, I saw that antibiotics and a steroid cream had been prescribed. I was very concerned and went to Los Robles ER for a second opinion. The ER physician actually examined my son thoroughly, including his arms, legs, abdomen, and overall skin, and diagnosed contact dermatitis. The ER physician also advised that the medications prescribed by urgent care were not appropriate for his condition. As a parent, I found this visit rushed, dismissive, and unacceptable. A child with a sudden rash should be properly examined, and a parent should be given a clear diagnosis and explanation before antibiotics and steroids are prescribed.

This review is offered as a warning to others that, based on my experience, expect many hassles…read morewith incorrect codings for insurance and inaccurate billing. Background: My primary referred me at 58 years old for my first colonoscopy as standard preventative care. I have no history of cancer, polyps or anything of the sort and am in excellent health so the procedure is 100% covered. Dr Chitayat is in network for my insurance and it was my first visit to his office. The visit was mandatory to draw blood and consult prior to a colonoscopy (in other words, you can't just schedule a colonoscopy. You must visit the doctor first). The office visit was routine, all was fine and the colonoscopy scheduled with the nearby surgery center. ALL of this is 100% covered by Blue Cross/Blue Shield if everything is in network as it was. A week prior to the surgery, the center called to say I would owe $900 when I arrived. I said that was incorrect and explained it was my first colonoscopy and everyone was in network. The surgery center said that Dr Chitayat's office coded it as a colonoscopy based on "previous polyp history" and therefore it was not 100% covered as preventative care. After my explanation that I had never ever had a colonoscopy or previous polyp history, the surgery center had to call Dr Chitayat's office and have them resubmit the proper code for insurance. Dr Chitayat's office corrected it and I was not forced to erroneously pay $900 on day of surgery. To maker matters worse, Dr Chitayat's office INCORRECTLY coded the pre-surgery mandated office visit when submitting the claim to Blue Cross/Blue Shield, thus I received a bill for the office consultation as well. Again, this was WRONG because the visit was 100% covered (corroborated by Blue Cross multiple times) since it was my first colonoscopy and the Dr was in network. Since the Dr's office sent a particular code (the WRONG one), I was being told by Dr Chitayat's office that I was on the hook for the difference. My wife and I attempted to contact the office billing person for WEEKS and left multiple messages requesting a return call. They do not return phone calls at all. We finally went into the Dr's office and spoke directly with the office manager and explained that their billing person would not return messages and we were not going to pay a bill that was incorrectly submitted by them. The office manager referenced the billing person "being young and new" which, quite frankly, is irrelevant and reflective of a poorly managed practice. The office clearly has issues with their billing and in filing accurate claims. Our insurance has been quite helpful but said they can not change a submitted code and the Dr's office must do so and resubmit the corrected claim. Despite Dr Chitayat seeming to be a fine doctor (there were no issues with the actual procedure), I strongly recommend avoiding this practice unless you want never handling hassles due to their subpar billing procedures.

You can call him directly anytime the office is closed, but staff are wonderful, and it is a calm, welcoming ,professional environment and he is a super doctor. He lets you talk and explain and ask questions and has excellent suggestions and huge knowledge of all things medical. I've been looking for several years after my long term doctor passed away and I think he is the most be for me. Also did I mention he is a very nice man.

I'm happy to say most of the tests were good but there's always room for improvement. What I love about Dr. Nudell, there's no drop dead time limit on your visit. My previous Dr. walked in and said I had 15 minutes. What!?! Dr. Nudell and I talked about different tests he would like me to consider and to make an appointment if I wanted too. We went over my blood work, vision and hearing results etc... I'm thoroughly satisfied with his level of care and would recommend Dr. Nudell hands down.
