Hood. Recently, one of the titanium screws holding my jaw together became loose and started to protrude through the gum line from behind my R-molar. Luckily, Dr. Ford was still around, and who better to contact than the surgeon himself? Staff was accommodating and pleasant. Check-in was almost seamless (prior referral was somehow missing on their end, so they had to re-contact my other dental clinic for information), and the wait time was minimal. The extraction process was near-painless (of course, with the help of a local anesthetic) and fast. Plus, Dr. Ford even let me keep the 1/2" titanium screw as a souvenir and called me later that evening to ask if there were any complications. I have to add that the side where the screw came loose (R-side) was the work of his partner at the time. When describing his work and because he's left-handed, he confidently stated, "that's because it's the Ford side." Highly recommended!

Dr Campbell is very knowledgeable as well. He's always checking to make sure you're okay during whatever process. Fast forward to the day of surgery, they make a driver come with you and stay during the entire time of surgery. You're given instructions orally as well as written instructions just in case. After that, I don't remember much of anything until I woke up again. A few hours after surgery Dr Campbell personally calls you to make sure everything is fine. You're also given his cell number beforehand in case of emergencies after hours. I did however have complications with my removal due to the tooth being so close to my nerve. Because of this, the staff made it easy for me to schedule a follow up multiple times and though I was concerned, Dr Campbell's knowledge of the procedure put me a little at ease by letting me know that sometimes the healing process takes time and this case was rare. I'm just always the lucky rare person unfortunately. While I'm still not fully healed, I appreciate the urgency to respond to my concerns and great customer service.

I'm not upset about this as I am a lawyer and I understand that a second effort to smooth out the bone is very probably necessary in some cases. The healing of the bone in some cases may leave rough spots on the bone where dentures will not fit ideally. The staff and Dr. Ormeni were excellent. I think this is a good medical provider and I highly recommend this facility and specifically Dr. Ormeni.

My orthodontist Dr. Geshey (Brazos Braces) who is Dr. GATLIN's fiancé has been amazing and contacted Mr. GATLIN about my condition and he got me connected to Dr. Arango in Dallas to will do the maliofacial surgery to fix my jaw and give me a total joint replacement. Last week I went to Dr. GATLIN to get my wisdom tooth pulled. The whole procedure went super smooth and he called to check up on me later. So…read moremuch so that I put off having my wisdom teeth removed for 2 years just to avoid getting an IV, which lead me to Dr. Warren and his fabulous staff. Everyone at Heart of the Brazos was so kind, welcoming, and professional. The office is very clean and I felt well taken care of from the moment I checked in to the time I left after my procedure. Dr. Warren clearly explained how the procedure would go, what to expect afterwards, and what I needed to do once I got home. Thankfully the nurse who did my IV (I think her name was Darla) was extremely gentle and I didn't feel a thing. A couple days after my surgery I ended up getting dry sockets (which are very painful) and Dr. Warren was nice enough to see me that same day to relieve my pain and make sure everything would heal properly. I don't ever WANT to have oral surgery again but if I ever need it, Dr. Warren and Heart of the Brazos will definitely be my first choice.

When I saw a dentist 5 years ago, the guy said I would have a high risk of permanently losing sensation in my jaw as my teeth were impacted and were very close to my nerves. The dentist did not seem very confident and honestly, it scared me so bad that I avoided every possible surgical intervention. However, the wisdom teeth eventually had to go since it was starting to affect my other teeth and the local dentist here referred me to an oral surgeon to take a look. When I met Dr. Pritchard, he was very comforting and also confident in his abilities. You have no idea how much of a relief it was to hear when he said my teeth would be a very routine procedure and that it was highly unlikely for me to lose sensation in my jaw. Dr. Pritchard was very kind and told me how normal it was to have anxiety about the surgery and that the procedure will be quick and painless. I ended up going under general anesthesia and it was the best decision I ever made (as I had no recollection of the surgery, I did not have to remember any trauma). The surgical assistants were also very kind and also comforted me when I was getting anxious with the IV sedation process. Dr. Prichard is amazing and I recommend anyone who has an intense fear of wisdom tooth extraction to seek only the best oral surgeon to do the job!

Even the lab techs are helpful as well as funny. The cafeteria as a few nice selections of food but could use more seasoning. As long as you are a patient going to your appointment and going home, you will be ok. Then there is the emergency room. In the emergency, it is as if there isn't enough techs because the lobby is always full. A lot of the nurses do not have bedside manners. A few of them do. I have had bruises, loss blood and even been assaulted nasally after they were told I did not want the care that they were trying to administer. They do not listen to the wishes of the patient or the family because they think they know everything. The people in charge will let the workers talk to the patients and families any kind of way, but they have a violence policy where the patients or family members cannot retaliate or use profanity. But when it comes to the speak up policy that is supposed to be enforced, the patients are rarely heard. I'm a heart transplant patient so I'm usually on the fourth floor. Now there are a few good nurses that actually do their jobs, have bedside manners, make the situations personable, and even make friends. Some even become like family. Then there are those who come to work with a chip on their shoulders and try to take it out on the patients. Now when it comes to Patient Relations, Douglas Stephens is probably the only one that actually cares and wants to help the patients. He actually takes the time to listen and come up with solutions. All in all Scott and White is a business. There are always some good people and some bad people. They need to read the signs provided for them as well as the patients. Treat people how you want to be treated. You have to give respect to get it. That's all I'm saying. The place itself is a wonderful place. You will find the right doctor for you.
