I am a previous a/c tech and have been in the business for 12 years. I had Deerwood come out to fix…read morean issue a previous a/c company messed up on. We had the duct work replaced under our double wide mobile home after Hurricane Harvey and the original company insulated the inside of the duct work instead of the outside cutting down airflow by more than half which caused the compressor to over amp and burn up. Deerwood (owner) came out accessed the situation and determined that was correct diagnosis. We discussed removing the insulation on the inside of the duct work and putting everything back like it was from the factory to which he agreed. However, I come to see a bunch of small flex duct laying in the yard but didn't think much of it. After pondering what they could possibly be doing with this small flex I asked, to which the reply was "getting you fixed up" so I went back inside. Thinking on it more I figured it, so I asked again. He was drilling holes at the air vents one trunk line and patching them over to the other trunk line. This is not what we discussed at all. When asked why he was doing this he said he didn't realize the double wide has 2 trunk lines. So basically he under bid the job and was trying to get away with not dropping the other branch and removing the insulation like we discussed in the very beginning. Needless to say I was very upset the he changed the scope of work without asking or notifying me. Then he breaks out a duct o lator for measuring airflow in duct work to try and snowball me like I don't know what I'm doing. knowing I am very frustrated and agitated he tries to explain it away his mistake to which I am not believing at all because I've been in the field and now currently working in sales. Then he snowballs my wife so bad that she is upset with me because I told him it was incorrect and the only reason he do it this way and with out notifying me is because he under bid the job which should not fall back on me. He then tells my wife that he spent an extra $500 in material that wasn't on the bid. Total BS that could have been prevented had he notified me before changing what we had previously discussed. I would let them install a window unit!!!

We cold called AC companies for an HVAC inspection on a house we are buying. Holy freaking crap,…read moreMaria has to be the happiest nicest lady I've ever spoken with on the phone. She listened to my questions then joyfully transferred me to her husband who talked with me in the phone for a half hour and was very patient with many questions other companies would have required a service call to discuss. They sent Patrick out, who was both on time and professional. Granted, our service experience was just an inspection, but he called right after completing it and discussed his findings with me thoroughly and made several recommendations for the sellers to address to protect our interest in the house. Then I had the opportunity to call Maria again and provide payment info. Again, just the happiest nicest person you could imagine. If a T-Rex had just dropped a massive dump on her new car I bet she would STILL greet everyone on the phone the same way. I think if I could find an excuse to talk to Maria every day, I would. I was sorry to see that the other review had such a negative experience, but given their willingness to answer questions and their prompt service, we will absolutely use Deerwood again.

I check out their website and find that the service I'm getting a deal on advertised at $75, I just paid a Groupon mark up. Warning sign *1. The next morning get a call asking for my exact address, there just so happens a tech in neighborhood and would like to do the work now. I'm sure I missed a huge headache. Wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

It was not a single simple task so it took them a few appointments to finish all the work. First time they had a minor car accident and came two hours late, which was understandable. Another time they came pretty late because of finishing up another appointment but got the work done (they had to stay until almost 9pm because I refused to reschedule for this one). Other times were fine. Over we are happy with the price and service. The can lights we got upstairs are significantly cheaper than the ones downstairs done by a renovation company. The quote they gave us was reasonable and on some items they ended up charging less based on the work required (not a single item was charged more than the quote). I also needed to fix my doorbell as they started so this was added later and they gave me a very good price for it and even helped with other small things for free. Overall we would definitely go back to this place if we need some work done in the future. So far all the elements, people, price and work, are packaged together well.

After we agreed on the type of replacement faucets (quarter-turn) and the cost; they installed black bibs (360-turn) instead of the agreed-upon faucets. The owner tried to convince me to accept subpar work by indicating that the black faucets were good and did not require anchoring. When, I touched the faucet/bib it freely moved. I have attached pictures showing the old blue faucets, the replaced black bids (not anchored), and the hopefully correctly replaced quarter- turn blue faucets. I informed the owner who was on-site this was unacceptable and caulk was not a stabilizer. The owner then went and purchased the faucets bibs initially requested which cost approximately $10 each and removed the makeshift black bibs. It only took about 5 minutes to change each faucet/ bib. I can't help but wonder whether my gender (female), unethical work practices or any unknown variables played a role in this situation. Why would this company not install what was requested and agreed upon? Why would anyone cause a loose, exposed, or unsecured water pipe that could lead to a costly disaster? While I typically don't leave negative reviews even when mishaps occur, this experience was unacceptable. Cost approximately $350.
