Called and requested a quote. The quote was $450 to dismount a tv, put it in my car so I can move it to the new location, and remount it at the new location. I was trying to be courteous and not waste his time by stating that I had a quote for $199 and was just informing him that it was more than I was looking to spend, however, when I said that he hung up on me. Very rude and entirely unnecessary. Nice response but I don't have a fireplace... and I was not rude I stated I had a quote for 199 and didn't want to waste your time and you hung up. I was searching online for a deal on mounting my TVs and came across their web page (#1 placement on "Houston TV Mount"). I called in and schedule an appointment. Installer was on time and was very professional throughout the installation. They mounted 2 TVs in under an hour and the placement is perfect. Their prices are very competitive and I paid much less than I did a year ago with a competitor. I've now used Houston Custom Installers for several four-figure installations regarding electronic A/V equipment inside and outside my home. Most recently, they installed a ten-camera security system with DVR that I had picked up from Costco on sale. As expected, they offered a clean installation, friendly service, and consulted me throughout the ten hour job. As a bonus, they re-distributed the attic insulation to erase their tracks created during the complex installation (which left no visible holes or wires behind). So far, I've used Houston Custom Installations for installing projector, screen, and speakers in my media room; in-ceiling rear speakers in the living room; and outdoor TV and in-ceiling speakers on my back patio. Anthony (both of them), Jose, Moses, and William have all been a pleasure to have work on my home and I'll have them back out anytime I dream up a new project. read more

Had an appointment to mount 3 TV's as well as conceal all wires. Tech showed up early and was incredibly professional. Each tv in every room looks incredibly clean with zero wires showing. They measured everything to make sure eye sight was right as well as the overall look in that particular room. Price was a little lower than other quoted prices in the area. Not a good experience. I scheduled an appointment and they overbooked the installer and they had to reschedule a number of times. Once they finally arrived they could only do some of what was promised It was very frustrating and I will have to find another company to finish the work. My first impression is that they over promise and under deliver. read more

If a company cannot make 2 appointments that they had to reschedule just to come do a quote then my advice is stay away.

We had our surround sound installed in 2012 and have never had any problems until June 2014. When I called them, they came out right away. It was a simple problem (a speaker had come unplugged), and they did not charge me for the visit. They were super helpful and explained everything. Totally Recommend!! read more

These guys botched our initial installation and then charged us a $100 service fee to fix it, which they neglected to tell us over the phone. I strongly advise users to avoid this service...look elsewhere!! read more

Poorest Experiance in customer service I have ever experianced. Little to no Knowledge of the A/V cabling. Told me my TV was bad and have it returned after they could not get it to complete initial set up. Left me there hanging packed their gear and walked out despite my protests. Their Boss David backed them up on phone when I called their shop. I then called Sony and they walked me through unplugging interface cables that were hooked up wrong, (In to In was one issue instead of out to in) After cable corrections TV went through initial set up no problem. Was up and running 1 hour after HCI walked out on me. Then I had the mess to clean up. TV Packing, cable management, plastic cable covers all over the floor from HDMI cable packing. Later I had to get someone to help level TV. It was off to one angle on the mounting. Do not reccomend Houston Custom Installers to anyone! Waste of $$$. Tech/s did not even wear shoe covers into my home. Not a professional agency and doubt any training. Main Tech did not even know HDMI 2 from HDMI 1 cable and no understanding of AudioReturnChannel. Even broke my Fiber Optic cable cause he did not know how to release an F connector on a Multimode fiber cable. I was only couple months Post Transplant so I had to hire somone to do somthing I likely would have done myself with a friend. (This why I undrstand the gaps in HCI knowledge in A/V) It was a Sad Day and very stressful for me. I would cut this rating by 1/2 star if I could! Regards Craig read more
