Monticello Veterinary Practice - Gemma

Monticello Veterinary Practice

This clinic came highly recommended. However we have been disappointed. We had to post a $97…read more"deposit" before they would even give us an appointment. We were charged an additional $600 for the actual exam. We were given no record of the visit so we are sure what we paid for. We did come home with some flea and tick meds. The physical building left a lot to be desired. There were large sections of sheet rock missing in our exam room and there were multiple colors of paint showing in various areas. Definitely a facility on the cheap. The vet was friendly and seemed to give a full exam. However the $2,000 estimate for the suggested teeth cleaning seemed a bit excessive. We had been previously quoted $500.

I have to put a shout out for the new vet I found because they are nothing short of EXCELLENT! It…read moreis Monticello Veterinary Clinic on Putah Creek Rd. just south of Winters. The vet that is part owner and who Pattie, my cat saw today is Jeannine Berger. The clinic is professional, super clean, ethical, and their decisions just make sense. I had taken Pattie to a Vacaville vet hospital who has followed her since she and her brother were two weeks old. After her latest visit I just did not feel confident in the care and treatment she received for her eye injury. The other vet cost more, did less, and really dropped the ball. I heard about Monticello Veterinary Practice from a retired family friend who is a vet. I wish I had gone to MVT and Dr. Berger sooner. It's okay though. We found her and her practice and can go there from now on. I literally cannot give any higher praise than to refer Monticello Veterinary Practice to my friends and their fur babies.

I've been a client at All Four Paws in Suisun City, CA for the past 2-3 years, but my most recent…read moreexperience has left me deeply concerned and disappointed. First, I was shocked to see the clinic owner publicly posting dogs' photos, medical records, and medical histories online in response to a review they did not agree with. As a client, this felt highly inappropriate and alarming. Whether intentional or not, it raises serious concerns about privacy, professionalism, and ethical boundaries. Clients should never fear that their pet's medical information could be shared publicly as retaliation. Second, in all my years coming to this clinic, I have never once been allowed to speak directly with a veterinarian or see a vet in person--not during exams, not during treatment discussions, not ever. You're not permitted to go inside for an appointment, and all communication is filtered through front desk staff or nurses. Instructions and recommendations are relayed secondhand, which leaves you wondering: Is there even a vet on duty? As a paying client, this lack of transparency is unsettling. The front desk staff often appear disgruntled, and while the nurses do their best, they are the only point of contact you ever get. Medical guidance should come directly from a licensed veterinarian--not passed along indirectly while the client remains completely removed from the process. My breaking point came when my dog contracted a virus. At a time when empathy, reassurance, and clear communication were critical, the response I received was cold and dismissive. After spending nearly $3,000 on exams and prescriptions, the complete lack of compassion was heartbreaking. I felt like a transaction--not a concerned pet parent. If you're looking for a clinic where you may never see a veterinarian in person, where communication is indirect, and where the focus appears to be more on revenue than genuine care, then All Four Paws may be for you. However, if you want transparency, empathy, and a vet who actually speaks with you and treats you like a human being--not just a bill--consider going elsewhere. There are other vets in the area who truly care. The contrast between the level of care provided and the image presented (including luxury vehicles prominently parked out front) only adds to the discomfort. Trust is essential in veterinary care, and unfortunately, that trust has been lost here.

This has been the best vet hospital from the beginning to the end of my dog, Bubba's life. They talked to me about his diagnosis, the expectations for his life, interventions, treatments, and palliative treatment . They gave various estimates for the treatments to help me make an informed decision. If I had my way, I would keep him alive forever, but I couldn't do that to my boy. We let him go peacefully. I'll reach out to this place again one day when I find another fur baby, they've been incredibly compassionate.

I really appreciated the people I spoke to over the phone when asking questions about the whole procedure and setting up the appointment because they were very supportive and respectful. Dr. Renee was amazing. Very sweet to my baby girl on her final day with us and she was comfortable and peaceful in her passing. They offer a complimentary clay paw print and Dr. Renee was able to shave some hair for me. It was a quick procedure and Dr. Renee ensured that she was in no pain during the procedure and she was safe when being taken away. I chose to do private cremation and was able to pick up the ashes from the crematory after a few days. I've had to euthanize previous dogs before but this was my first time using Lap of Love and I thought the whole process was perfect for my old gal.

I don't want to get into details because it's all still too raw, but after realizing it was time to say goodbye to my 15 year old best friend, I knew I wanted her to be at home and not at a vet's office when she transitioned. I talked to their team and they were very helpful, answered all our questions, and just helped us make the right decision. Dr. Jeannie was so compassionate and kind. She took care of everything, walked us through the entire process. While this was such a hard day, the team really helped us through and helped us give our sweet girl a peaceful sendoff.

This is something no one ever wants to do, but if we bring furbabies into our hearts and homes, we'll likely have to do it at some point. The last thing I wanted to do was to traumatize my terminally ill kitty with a car ride to a cold, sterile vet's office (no offense to any vets) like I've had to in the past. After doing research, Dr. Noe was reasonably priced (although that's not necessarily super important in these situations), quick to respond, professional, and compassionate. She clearly explained what would be happening and allowed us to set the pace. Nothing happened until we were ready - including our final goodbye. Even better, when it was finally time to leave, Frankie was placed into a basket and tucked in with a blanket he would've loved. His passing was peaceful, respectful and surrounded by love. **The photo I'm attaching is him before they left. He looks like he's taking a quiet nap and I'm so happy to remember him this way.**

She was very professional and was able to come to the house an hour earlier which was a huge relief, as our girl was suffering. I can't imagine having anyone else and felt like she was an angel.
