Thank you Dr. Sarah, for being so kind and compassionate. Mine and my son's experience with this office/staff was wonderful. It was our first time here and we had to bring in our kitty, Cleopatra, for (what we thought was) asthma. Dr. Sarah initially thought the same, until X-rays showed something awful. We had to put her down immediately. It was a horrible day (many tears were shed), but the staff made it better with simple human-kindness and compassion. Dr. Sarah went above and beyond to help us with a heart-wrenching situation. Thank you so much for your huge heart. CM

I would avoid Dr. Berger at all costs. It's money down the drain. I also have concerns about her professional ethics. My experience is best summed up in my email response after Dr. Berger told me she was too busy for a follow-up appointment and instead referred me to someone in the Bay Area. I wrote: Thank you for the response. Gemma has been a real challenge, but we love her very much and our biggest hope is to help her get out of her own way so she can truly enjoy being a dog. I have come to learn that there are a lot of faux experts in the dog training field and zero accountability if methods don't work. The person we were going to hire and who referred us to you had already diagnosed Gemma as a fearful dog and wanted to put her on meds before she even met her. After 18 months with Gemma practically 24/7, I don't believe she is a fearful dog. Last night, for instance, we took her to our remote place for off-leash exercise and she was running 300 yards ahead of me, happy as can be. A fearful dog would never do that. She is a confused dog who does not seem to be able to process the reality before her. We will consider seeing Dr. Sung, but I have misgivings. Diagnosing behavior in an office setting does not seem to provide a true picture of what we are experiencing with Gemma in her difficult moments. I also looked into the book she co-authored and the consensus of reviews is that the book gives a very good rundown of identifying behavioral challenges and next to nothing about how to address them or overcome them. In your case, while we enjoyed meeting you and appreciated your kindness and compassion, we found it frustrating when we received the follow-up assessment and plan for Gemma. It was basically a generic printout that was not specific to her behaviors or needs. Part of the advice was to not put her in stressful situations and to slowly expand her boundaries. But there was no information about what to do to expand those boundaries or how to interact with her when she freezes and refuses to move forward. The meds you prescribed also made no difference. You never felt the need to check back with us to see how things were progressing. More disappointing, however, is the fact that when I contacted you this time, you didn't seem to feel any professional obligation to continue with a patient you had started working with. When you said your appointments were all booked, did you mean for the next week? The next month? The next decade? You were basically saying you have nothing else to offer and no interest in trying something else. If you were going to diagnose your response as an expert in behavior, would that qualify as anything better than "pretty lame?" Given all this, I am now frustrated that we paid $195 for essentially nothing. It's up to you, of course, but I hope your professional obligation at this point would be to refund us the $195 we paid you, plus the $20 for the meds that did nothing. If you'd like to subtract 10 cents for the follow-up plan you sent us, I would be OK with that.

MVP took great care of my kitty during her first visit. She has a long history of being spicy with veterinarians. The staff were great and attentive to me and my kitty's needs. I scheduled my appointment a few weeks in advance. When I noticed my kitty had an issue I wanted to get looked at, MVP had no issue moving her appointment up to the next available day. Dr. Heidi was fantastic and empathetic. She gave my cat sedation to appropriately give her vaccines, a thorough physical and treat some issues. They even sent a follow-up text the next day asking how she was doing after her vaccines. The prices were similar to our previous vet in the Sacramento area. So happy to have found this practice!

I needed a fast medical clearance to travel and Monticello vet practice was fast, efficient and took great care of our dog. Melody went beyond help by get records and repeated calls to help us out. I couldn't get ahold of our old vet, but had no problem with communication with Monticello. I highly recommend their care for your animal and 5 star service. Thank you!!!!

This is much better, since it's less time out of my school/work schedule. Nancy has everything she needs to do a check-up and minor procedures in the back of her truck. For minor surgeries (teeth cleaning) I take my pet to Winters, where she has a small office. For emergency services she recommends the UCD Vet School and an emergency vet place where she works sometimes. Cost: similar to a vet clinic, because she charges for the house call a similar mark-up as what you would be charged by a clinic that has rent costs to cover. Additional pets are discounted for the house call cost. Friendliness: (5 stars) Nancy is very friendly, calm, and very kind to my dog. My dog only likes her at the end of the visit, upon receiving a treat (to be expected, since no one likes a thermometer up their rear). Timeliness: (5 stars) Nancy has always arrived on time, so I've never had to wait for her. Also, she returns phone calls the same day I leave a message (I just let her know what time she should call me back). Convenience: (5 stars) No waiting in a vets' waiting room with someone else's sick/hyper/scared/barking animal. Also, no new environment (new floor, slippery examining table) for me and my pet to deal with, since we stay home.

When one of my dogs were seriously injured she went above and beyond then any other vet I've heard. She constantly touched bases with me to see my dog was doing. She lent me her shoulder when I cried. She is very honest about what your animal needs. Cost: She is very comparable to office vets. She comes to you if you want her to. Compassion: She really is gentle and patient with your pet. I can not say enough praises about Nancy. When I moved out of Winters, I still drive into town to see her and that's over an hour away. I'm not a weirdo about pets, but I trust her professional opinion and recommend her highly!

Legitimately loved this vet clinic. (You're gonna want to keep reading!!!)…read more I'm a first-time puppy owner and 3 days after I brought my pug puppy (2-month old) home, he started showing symptoms of Parvo, which obviously freaked me out. (And the Google search results that told me his survival rate with treatment would be around 60%-90% freaked me out even more) First, I took him a highly rated Yelp vet clinic that had an availability for him on the same day. Of course I know Parvo is very serious, but the technicians there made the whole situation very negative and made me even more nervous. They recommended me to either take my puppy to a 24/7 vet hospital which would have been crazy expensive (they would not give me a general price/quote for it either!) or conduct home treatment which they said will most likely not work. They didn't give me a third option. I'm pretty sure I didn't even get to speak to a doctor. I just felt frustrated and pessimistic about the whole already-stressful situation. However, I immediately called my friend whose friend worked at Yolo Vet Clinic, and she told me she recommended me to take my puppy there for a second opinion and for more transparency on Parvo treatment prices...and everything is now history! The Dr. Bulkeley and the technicians at Yolo Vet helped me and my pup so much. As soon as I got there, they kept me feeling optimistic and positive, and by ensuring me that I caught the symptoms early and calming me down. They gave me a clear picture of what their non-24/7 hospitalization process looked like, and gave me a realistic price estimate. Before, I thought Parvo puppies could only survive at a super pricey 24/7 vet hospital (being misled by the other clinic) due to the low-ish survival rate, but I had no idea how fast my puppy would get better and recover under the care of Yolo Vet! He came home after 3 days and the technicians gave me specific instructions on how to continue to support his recovery! But of course do keep in mind that each puppy is different and have different immune systems! To say I'm eternally grateful would be an understatement. I loved and appreciated their transparency, optimism, friendliness, and professionalism. Their app also helped so I could contact their technician if I had any questions. Overall, suuuuper positive experience!
