I was pleased to see that MUV offers flexible summer classes with the option to take various classes on a drop in basis. They offer high school prep classes, ballet, jazz, hip hop, technique classes and more. I have been so pleased with the classes and my daughter loves them. They have many highly trained instructors. They have multiple studios so they can run several classes at the same time. It is clean and well organized. All the teachers are friendly and cheerful. Dancing has been great gentle exercise, and we always have fun. Recently, we rented the studio venue for an anniversary party for about 60 people. The space was more than adequate for that crowd, plus we had plenty of room for dancing, the buffet line, and the large photo booth. Dominic is great to work with and knows events. Cost was quite reasonable. He was on hand to help us with details. The studio provided set-up tables, chairs and linens. There is also a kitchen with a pass-through window and we put our beverages in their refrigerator. There is a big TV in the larger dancing room, and we ran a slide show there, which guests enjoyed. In addition, we created our own music playlist and the studio ran that through their sound system.

I reached out via email last night explaining the issue and never received a response, I suppose because they're more concerned with their public image on Yelp than helping families. After reading this response, I'm pretty disgusted with the management of this studio. I am beyond upset and disappointed in the studio after what happened to my daughter during class last night. She loved her class last year when her instructor was Nicole, but this year she got Maggie. I've watched the class as Maggie pays zero attention to my daughter and instead focuses on the other girls who are doing really well. She didn't help my daughter as she struggled to learn the dance, she would just yell at her in front of the other girls and simply tell her to keep up. Last night, My daughter got frustrated during class tonight because she felt like she wasn't keeping up with the rest of the girls, so she cried and looked very defeated when I picked her up. After class, Maggie asked to speak with me privately in which she made it very clear that she doesn't want my daughter to return to her class. She said that the other girls are having fun and working hard while my daughter is always crying. She said she only wants dancers who will have fun and work hard. I'd also like to note that I've watched Maggie's interactions with my daughter while in class and she visibly ignores her and doesn't engage with her like she does the other girls. We had a great season last year when Eliana was in Nicole's jazz class, but unfortunately this year has been very disappointing. I'm incredibly upset with Maggie and her comments to me tonight, so we don't plan on returning. I would feel too uncomfortable sending my daughter back after we were indirectly told it'd be best for the class if she doesn't return. Unfortunately, I've already paid for the recital, the costume, and the tuition for March, so I guess I'll have to eat those costs.

We went and my daughter had a blast and the parents couldn't say enough good things about the instructor/owner Mr. Evans. So we talked to Evans and he said for her to come to a real class for free and see if she liked it (as the birthday parties are a little more loose and silly compared to regular class). Sounded like a solid deal so we did 2 days later and to our surprise she loved it. She goes to class about 3-4 times a week only because some days the class for her belt group was at a time that we couldn't get off work in time to get her there. The new location is awesome because it is so close to our house and Mr. Evans and some of the black belt student instructors like Donald and Daeyon (god I think I spelled that right) are amazing. The amount of patience these guys have with working with kids from 5/6 all the way up to 13/14 year olds for the "kids" classes is amazing. We have seen such a big difference in our daughter's confidence as well as manners too (not that she was a bad kid or rude to begin with) but they teach kids about respect and courtesy and what it means to have self discipline and other values. Plus the exercise she gets has been great for her too, and I feel that if she did get picked on by bullies she could deal with it. The place is great, lots of our neighbors have daughters that go there and it is awesome seeing the girls kick ass as much as the boys. We couldn't get my daughter into any extracurricular activities like Dance or anything, so we were very happy she has found this. The school also rewards kids for good attendance as well as getting good grades at school. If you are looking for your kids then call them and set up a day to check it out. I would be surprised if they didn't love it and it is very affordable.
