They are incredibly accommodating and understanding, I cannot put into words how much it means to me. They were willing to work with me on payment as my card had been stolen and were so understanding. The appointment itself was by far the most informative and in-depth vet appointment I have ever had. It was clear to me that the vet and all of the workers truly care about the animals they are intrusted with and want what's best for the animals no matter what. The level of understanding, care, compassion and thoughtfulness I experienced has made me a loyal customer and I can say without any hesitation or doubt that I completely trust these people with the care of my furry family members!

I felt the beagles were getting great care. I took my dog in to Alpine this past Nov. 13. for a blood test. I was told results would come in 24 to 48 hours. there was never a call. EIGHT days later, I called. Asked for the results was told the Vet was busy. I called on Nov 26th. And asked them to mail them to my house. I called several days later. Asked again. they said they would. Today is Dec 6th.....still no results! I complained again and asked for a full refund. This brings me to the other issue....,as I was paying they verbally told me the total cost $215.00, when I got home the receipt said $298.00! Some would say this was a bait and switch deal. Just what the bloody hell did I pay $298.00 for?????? They didn't even take her temperature! they took her from the room was there an actual blood test??? Found a new Vet. Always do your research!

Numerous times I have had stitches come out on my females after c sections. One repair ended up with two more stitches popping inside. Did surgery on a puppy without my authorization, almost killed my one female by giving her hormone meds she had a bad reaction and passed out twice, they had no idea there were side affects, had to call my regular vet who said to stop giving to hercand she immediately got better. Also you better have a calm dog because they practice drawing blood multiple times on multiple jabs, students are nice but it will cause your dog some stress and discomfort . Have had semen over spun and killed by Dr Strickland who can have a horrible bedside manner. . They gave my newborns plasma without my permission as well. No longer going to use them as I have had bad experiences with every c section. Multiple stitched coming out causing hernias. This is also happening to other breeders in the area. We just put him in the car and brought him with us. He got a fast-food burger for dinner and a back-seat camp-out in the ER parking lot until we could find him a place to stay while I was in the hospital. In our rushed departure -- we didn't even think to pick up his vaccination papers. Town & Country was recommended by the nurses the next morning, and very close by. First and foremost, they are a small animal vet clinic -- and so they were able to talk to our normal vet at home and get pup's info, and catch him up on the one vaccine he was due for. They checked him out thoroughly and helped us with one more detail of an already difficult few days. Poor baby was a little traumatized by all the travel and breaks in his routine -- and his sympathetic pre-surgery jitters. The folks at Town and Country treated him like one of their own. Thanks for all the help and TLC for a confused little dog!

This review is specifically for Dr. Van at Eastgate. I am a…read moreresident of Portland, and when I found out that my dog had a chipped tooth I went to a specialist (which shall remain nameless...) in town. I was told a root canal was probably the best thing to try for and it would be between $2,000 and $3,000. I was desperate for another option and after calling around I found Eastgate. The first woman who answered the phone was very polite and helpful. She referred me to Dr. Van. I left a message with Dr. Van who called me back just a few minutes later. She was so honest and helpful! She had me text her pictures of my dog's problem tooth and called me back the same day. She gave me a different recommendation (which will be much less expensive and better for my dog's health) AND she took the time on the phone to fully explain why and answer my questions. This was, hands down, the best experience I've ever had talking to a vet! If you're anywhere in the state of Oregon and your pet has a tooth problem, go to Eastgate and ask for Dr. Van. She is awesome.
