They are incredibly accommodating and understanding, I cannot put into words how much it means to me. They were willing to work with me on payment as my card had been stolen and were so understanding. The appointment itself was by far the most informative and in-depth vet appointment I have ever had. It was clear to me that the vet and all of the workers truly care about the animals they are intrusted with and want what's best for the animals no matter what. Staff isn't very friendly and felt like they were more concerned about seeing my cat for the overall exam fee, rather than trying to figure out what was wrong with her. I came for a check up, and they had me pay for a very generalized test, which they said I would have results in 5-7 days. They called me back 2.5 weeks later, and would NOT stop bringing up the fact that they "really want to exam my cat again, and they think it would be best." I don't want to keep taking her to $85 exam fees every 2 weeks just to do trial and errors, isn't that what the initial one was for? Going to be taking my animal elsewhere, feels like they don't entirely know what they're doing here. Really unfortunate. read more

It is neither the cheapest nor the most expensive vet I have been to. My cat is almost 20 and has some early stage kidney failure. My impression among vets I've been to is that Corvallis Cat Care understands this condition for cats better than the others. Cats have different protein needs from dogs and I think the specialty nature of their practice helps them understand when renal care diet foods aren't always the best thing for cats specifically. Also, they have always been extra cautious and upfront consulting with me about any extra test or treatment options. read more

I took my previous cat here and thought it was OK. So, when I got a new cat I continued going to Corvallis Cat Care. They were extremely expensive, ordering $700 tests for example. They never could figure out what was wrong and it ended up costing me a lot of money, time, hard ache, and stress for my cat who wasn't getting better. I started going to a new clinic, and right away my cat started feeling better and the exam cost a third as much as at Corvallis Cat Care. At CCC, they wanted my cat to have acupressure treatments. Those are really expensive and were ineffective. I just feel like the care I get at my new clinic is so much better and they don't try to run the bill up. The people at Corvallis cat care are very nice, I hate to say anything bad about them, but there is better care out there and for a lot less money. read more

So I found this place with a quick google search and decided to take my little fur baby in, well fur-less in this case. I was impressed I have been to veterinarians in portland, wilsonville, salem, keizer, klamath falls, and albany, both good and bad experiences. At first you're drawn aback a little because it's not like your typical veterinary office, it looks like a house so I almost missed it because I was looking for a building. Then I went in the front staff were very friendly, the veterinary tech and the veterinarian were friendly as well. They answered all questions and then told me some things I already knew as well. They were extremely nice to my little man and DIDN'T treat him like some veterinarians that seem to be "all business, trying to get everything done as fast as possible". The veterinarian recommended some labs however didn't try to force me into anything, she wasn't rude, condescending, there was no attitude, it was more of a "if you're interested we can do this". They show you how much things cost before they do anything and what I really appreciated was that she was honest about not wanting to over vaccinate (which I totally agree with, because some of it seems unnecessary). She was very caring, she let me know that since he was neutered recently (at a different veterinarian) that it wouldn't be a good idea to get him his rabies until he had a little time to recuperate since his immune system just took a bit of a hit from that. Her veterinary tech was very nice and even went out of her way to look up some travel information for me. They also had Darwins cat raw food diet which was impressive because I am waiting on my order, they let me buy some to get him through until the order I placed gets here. I like the fact that their office is a "cat only" set up because it allows the veterinarians to concentrate on the feline species with their vast knowledge and allow for a more caring personal visit, when I take my little guy to the veterinarian I want someone who actually cares about how he's doing and asks questions or answers my concerns, just like my children(s) doctor does. The prices were not bad at all especially for here in Corvallis where everything is overpriced, and the service was well worth the price I did pay. It's also a comfortable office, it isn't noisy, and it doesn't have your typical veterinary office smells that can cause your pets to get stressed out. Overall more than deserving of a 5 star rating. I would recommend taking your feline friends here for care. read more

I take both of my fur baby's to Dr. Tran. She is the kind of person who I would describe as having a gentle soul. She's also a cat person, which give her extra brownie points. She is very kind and understanding and has answered all my stupid, wacky questions. Dr. Tran also gives a lot of great advice for those of us who are trying to be a little more earth friendly with our kitties. My youngest kitty, Bunny (yes, my cat is named Bunny. You can imagine the problems I have picking up prescriptions for her) is a menace to Dr. Tran and her poor vet tech, Ted. While Bunny loved my last vet, he just couldn't help her in the way I was hoping. Dr. Tran has gotten Bunny's allergies mostly under control and also helped with some of her behavioral issues. If you're a cat person, this is definly the vet for you! But don't expect a cheap bill when you leave. You will pay for top notch care for your feline. I consider it to be well worth the price. read more

We just adopted two kittens and brought them here to get their vaccinations and check up. The entire team was extremely friendly and great with our kitties. Dr. Tamara had a lot of advice about raising cats as well as how to keep them healthy. There was another person in the reception area who wasn't feeling well and several employees were going above and beyond to make sure she was okay. This has been a pretty stressful, unpleasant, ongoing experience with this place. Took my wife & I's 19 year old cat in for a lion cut and a vaccine update & it's turned into hypothyroidism, a UTI, and a bunch of hardcore meds that have rendered her sluggish & depressed for the better part of five days, some they tack the bill on for days later despite saying we were settled up the first time. They speak to me in a way when I comment on how financially hard all this has been on the family that says "if you don't spend all this money you're a bad cat owner." Our cat hasn't eaten the majority of this time which made my wife & I blame the medications, but now our younger cat is displaying the same behavior which suggests they caught some kind of bug the vets hadn't even mentioned as a possibility. They also cut the 19 year old during the dematting--which they didn't tell me they'd downgraded the service to before doing it and sending me home to be surprised by a sad, patchy cat emerging from her box--despite her being largely docile in nature, blaming it on her skin flaps. They had to give her stitches; we've gotten her groomed many times, and never had any problems like this. My trust is at a low point to say the least, and we will be getting a second opinion. Update 6/26/18 - Took the 19 year old to a different vet last week and things went almost perfect. Single antibiotic shot for the UTI--which Cat Care said would be "too stressful" for a cat her age; she did just fine--and topical ear administration for the hypothyroidism, much easier for everyone involved. Also somewhat less expensive and with none of the condescension & homeopathic tomfoolery of Cat Care, who still actively deny the 19 year old could've picked up a bug that spread to the younger cat (Who too is doing much better). And unlike Cat Care, the new vet let me stay with my cat almost the entire time, save 5 minutes for the sterile antibiotic injection. Given all this to compare it to, I've got to give Corvallis Cat Care 1-Star. What a waste of $600. read more

This office is small and cozy. They have tea/coffee for you while you wait in the lobby. There's a small parking area behind the building in the alley. You can easily miss the office while driving down 4th street, but look out for the purple sign and you will know where it is at. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I had called for an appointment and they explained the types of services and vaccinations they offer. They book appointments quickly so be sure to make an appointment as soon as possible if you need one. As nice as Dr. Forster-Blouin was, my kitty was really mad and uncomfortable being in the office. I had felt really bad and embarrassed that my cat had scratched the vet while she was trying to handle him. I was frustrated that after the first visit I had to pay $108 for no rabies shot, just an angry cat. I understood the fee they charged for the aggressive cat handling (he did scratch her, after all). They prescribed my cat gabapentin to try to calm him down prior to bringing him in again. When we returned, my cat did not seem to have any change in behavior and that's when they referred me out to another doctor that does home visits. I'm happy to say at least they did not try to see him and then charge me for it! Their prices are pretty expensive - but it is because they are thorough with information and procedures. Overall, I understand that they need to charge the fair price for a visit, but it does make up for the fact that the staff are very friendly and the Doc is very knowledgable. read more

Do you want your cat to be seen in an individal room designed to make them comfortable and calm? How about a vet who listens to both you and your cat? You don't have to go farther than Corvallis Cat Care! I was recommended here by a friend (whose cat has a similar stress disorder as mine), and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. Dr. Tran was very honest and open about my options for my cat as well as what might be needed in the future. She made sure he was up to date on his vaccines and gave me tips and instructions on how to resolve his kitty anxiety without turning to drugs like Prozac For Kitties (which is an actual thing). Although I won't see these people for a year unless my cat gets sick, I had a fantastic experience with them and will keep them as Boris' vet as long as I'm in the area read more

Dr. Blouin is, by far, the BEST veterinarian I've ever visited. If you bring your feline family members to her, she'll treat them with the dignity and respect they deserve. The entire clinic is cat-centric - from the fish in the waiting room to the bird feeders outside every exam room window - to the curtains covering the exam room doors. When Dr. Blouin examines your cat, she'll tell you exactly what she's doing and why. She's gentle and soft-spoken, and will even perform her exams while kneeling on the floor if she thinks that will benefit your cat. I trust her completely with my furballs and you should not hesitate to do so as well. read more

Don't let my location fool you, this is for the clinic in Corvallis, OR I would give this clinic zero stars if I could. In summary: they fail to follow proper clinical procedures, they are greedy, and they treat pet owners disrespectfully. The details are listed below. We have an ancient cat, 22, who we are trying to take care of, all while living within our budget of my husband's graduate school stipend. I asked this clinic to allow us to purchase one of her medicine in bulk to help us afford our appoints and they refused. She would write a script for two more weeks, if we made an appointment to come in on the spot. They treated us a children, that if they didn't hold the medicine hostage, then we would not bring our cat in for tests. Never mine the fact that we had already brought our cat in THREE TIMES IN THE LAST FOUR MONTHS. This was for fluids. We also get five other medicines from this clinic - there was no reason to hold this particular one hostage. This vet missed the point entirely: treatment for our cat is a collaborative effort between the vet and ourselves and we are full partners. Factors that go into this include our willingness, and to what extend, we will do medical procedures, and what we can afford. These are the same factors that go into human treatment. In no case, ever, does the vet or doctor get to play the role of dictator. When I pleaded my case with the extremely young vet, she told me that "they knew what was best". How is making it so we cannot afford to bring her in for her best interest? She would not answer that question First off, if we follow her line of logic, the end result is that the cat gets no medical treatment whatsoever because we would have spent our entire budget on medications. Second, that horrific condescending attitude, combined with the lack of any real information to work with, was the most incompetent, offensive experience I have had in recent memory Frankly, it was the response of a bully. Regarding the medicine in question, they charge triple what other vets we have seen charge (triple!!). They charge $23 for a 'kit' that we used to get for $8, including a more expensive administrative line! It was greed pure and simple. We could buy a case of that medicine for $50, save $180 over the course of six months and have enough to pay for one vet visit with tests for our cat. But this vet saw absolutely no value in this approach, instead insisting we pay that $180 to them for the medicine AND make a vet appointment, whether we could afford it or not. In case you think I am rating them poorly on this one instance, horrific as it was, I am not. We had one of those sets of tests they strongly recommended. It cost 1/5th of our monthly income. They were so insistent on how important it was. Well, guess how long it took them to get back to us about them? SIX WEEKS!! To be fair, the vet tried to send an email but it was cut off. It took us two emails and several phone calls, and FIVE MORE WEEKS to get them to actually finish the process of getting back to us. The reason it was so difficult to get any information about that email was that when I would call, the vet had failed to write any notes about her recommendations in the charts. NONE. This is like failing Clinic Procedure 101. As a patient, or patient owner more specifically, I should be able to call and any single person on the staff should be able to look at her chart and tell us what we need to know. The doctor not filling in this information is absolutely unacceptable, and this instance is a prime example of the reason why. We were not able to make the proper adjustments to our cat's treatment because no one knew what they were, except the vet, who had that information stored around in her head. This is the part that blows me away. Vets want the same respect and responsibilties as medical doctors. Well, then act like one and don't do such sloppy work. Put the information in the chart where it belongs. The last bottle of medicine I got from them doesn't even have the correct name on it. That is simply beyond the pale. Don't go there. They are not realistic about budgets and the realities of life. They demand tests, but do nothing with them because it is too much work follow proper procedures. BTW, I am a board certified medical professional with twenty years experience and I have never seen such horrible behavior towards a patient, be it human or animal. This is also how I know just how terrible their clinic procedures are. These people should find another line of work, they are not suited to this one. read more

We recently bought our 2 cats to Corvallis Cat Care. Kitty #1 was seen by Dr. Tran, then a week later kitty #2 was seen by Dr. Raines. Both vets were excellent, performed gentle and thorough exams, explained the diagnosis and offered several treatment options. During both visits, we were seen on time. The office is located in a tastefully decorated and relaxing craftsman home, with a pleasant waiting area. The exam rooms are clean and comfortable for both pet and humans. The vet assistant (Stacy) was excellent, explained procedures and was so sweet to our kitties. Front office is run by Judy and Ted who are both helpful and professional. One item I found especially helpful: after the vet evaluated the kitties and discussed the diagnostic/treatment plan, the vet assistant would then present a price sheet listing all anticipated charges. If you agree with the charges, sign and proceed. I found this very helpful since there was a food item listed that I decided I didn't want, so it was removed from the total. An added touch: a follow-up call the next day to see how kitty was doing. This is a professionally run office that is immaculately clean and has a very peaceful vibe. So glad to have found them and know our kitties will be well taken care of in the future. read more

I liked this place at first, particularly the cats-only aspect, but things went down hill quickly. I had several bad experiences that I can't get over. Once I took one of our cats (who loves people) in for just a blood draw, no exam. After waiting 45 minutes, they took her to the back. I heard her howling, which was caused by the tech having to try over and over to get blood. This had NEVER happened with any other vet. I had to return the next day to complete the draw -- unnecessary stress for me and the kitty. My other cat gets very scared at any vet visit, but if I am present she stays calmer. For blood draws, they absolutely refused to let me be in the room, even after I explained several times that it would help her (and me, frankly). Again, never was refused this anywhere else. The vet also insisted that I schedule visits every six months for cat #2. She does indeed take a potentially toxic drug and tests to monitor its levels in the blood, no other vet has EVER required twice-a-year exams as well (and the test results have been very good, so the exam is necessary why?...). Also, the prescription was written for only one month's refill at a time, meaning frequent pharmacy visits. With the new vet, I can fill 3 months at a time, so I don't have to go to the pharmacy every darn month. They also push things like homeopathy and supplements for which there is scant, if any evidence of efficacy (like vitamin D). And they are VERY expensive. A routine office visit is I think $78, compared to $48 at our new vet. I didn't even realize how expensive they were until I switched. I also found out that their mark-up on tests is much higher than with our new vet. Disclosure: Ironically, shortly after I booked an appointment with our new vet, they called to tell me they were "firing" me as a client for reasons of incompatibility. I'll say. read more

Best cat vet I have ever been to! They always take the time to explain everything and take my opinion into account. They work WITH me to care for my cats. The vet techs (Love Leslie!) are so great and always follow up with a phone call to ask how my boys are doing. I love that all the staff are up to date and knowledgeable on feline nutrition (so many vets are clueless). I highly recommend Corvallis Cat Care as a regular vet. The entire staff is empathetic, caring, and knowledgeable. They guided us through hospice care with one cat (and sent us a condolence card when he passed) and are currently treating our other cat's kidney problems. Because they are a smaller practice with regular hours, the doctors are able to confer with each other and be familiar with your cat's condition. (This does also mean that if your cat needs emergency care you will need to go to an emergency vet because they can't always see your cat right away and are not available after hours.) Their highest priority is your cat's health and well-being, so they will help you choose treatments based on what you can afford (if possible). You can also leave your cat for a day visit if needed, and you can rest assured they will keep an eye on your kitty! read more

I took my adult cat in with congestion and a cough. Dr. Tran was very pleasant, took her time, and made both me and my cat feel as comfortable as possible. She explained all the options carefully and gave me price estimates in advance. Today's visit with blood tests, antibiotics, and pill pockets cost $167. He needs a tooth pulled surgically, and that's going to cost a lot, over $1000, including special blood tests in advance of that. That seems very expensive, but I don't know what it would cost elsewhere. I just know that it was a very positive experience. The atmosphere is nice. My cat liked watching the fish in the tank in the waiting room. It helped calm him down. read more

Just went into Corvallis Cat Care last night. The nicest staff and Dr. Blouin is an obviously caring vet who loves animals. They did a very thorogh exam of our cat before addressing his wound to ensure that he had nothing else wrong and spent their time explaining everything to us and made sure our cat was as comfortable as possible. Even after having to perform a minor procedure on his wound, the pain meds, and antibiotics the price was very affordable! Everyone was very understanding and there is no doubt that if something comes up again they will be our first choice! read more
