This thing is so good I've tried to reverse engineer it so I can enjoy it back in So Cal!!! The Mexican Salad is awesome as well. It's HUGE! I can fit my head inside the bowl its served in. I added chicken and had the dressing on the side (my standard operating procedure for all salads). Definitely a meal in itself. If your ever in Cental Florida, check this place out! First time here and def not the last. This lace is amazing. I ordered some kind of "hulk" smoothie... Prob the best green smoothie I've ever had! It's the perfect blend of spinach and fruit but not too fruity. I also ordered a Greek salad but substituted the ham for chicken. Very tasty and large. I'm so grateful for this place. It is the only cafe near my house that is not a Starbucks or a Dunkin' Donuts. Great staff, great coffee and great cause. One of the most outstanding things I've had here was one of their seasonal soups this past winter. It was brie and broccoli. It was the perfect comfort food the night I got it. I've also had their peanut butter chocolate pie that is so decadent that I always have to share my slice with my bf. If this place was on my way to work, I literally would be there every morning! Nice eclectic coffee shop that has a lot of food, especially a lot of breakfast options and is open early! They have paninis, oatmeal, waffles and even breakfast pizza to help you get your day going. The food tastes great, although they do not have subs for the vegan, or even the non-red meat eater (no turkey sausage). Lots of options for coffee and some pretty good iced tea. The oatmeal is really good. I usually get it to go and it comes in an container with a spoon, there are lots of different variations, I would recommend trying it even if you haven't had oatmeal before. The staff is friendly and knowledgable about the menu. We order and sit downs and they will bring the food to you, even outside. Speaking of outside they do have seating, however there is very limited shade so I wouldn't recommend sitting out there as you will either be hot or rained on. One of the major niceties here is that all proceeds do go to charity which is nice. Overall Pluses for eclectic decor, friendly people, and good breakfast food and coffee. Minus for not having vegan/subs for red meat & cheese. I looked at your menu online and you don't have a price for the soups but I went to your place to get the mushroom soup and it was 4.50 for a little bit. When I got home I wasn't happy with the amount but I was too far to return it. Won't come back. There's barely any there. You should put prices on the menu or when you advertise the soup you should put how much and the price so one can see it. Most restaurants give a lot more for mushroom soup. I ordered an iced espresso drink and the southwest breakfast burrito ($6.10). The drink was great, the food was not. The eggs were somewhat firm and rubbery with air pockets and a green tint. Perhaps contributed by them microwaving it. I really wanted it to be great, but it is not a spot I would go back to get food. We were staying across the street at the Sabal Hotel, which offers no breakfast and the Perkins next door has closed. This coffee/breakfast house is a surprise gem! Like a specialty California cafe, the ingredients and menu items are fresh and delicious. The staff and setting have a cool natural vibe. Bathrooms are ultra clean! I ordered the Ham and Pineapple Salsa Breakfast Pizza which has hummus, eggs, ham, cheese and pineapple salsa on a perfectly crisp/soft pita....so good!!! very nice local cafe. they make orders fresh. everyone is friendly. everything they do goes towards charity. i'd say honestly that it's better to order drinks rather than food. i've gotten a couple different food items and the good ones are mediocre at best. the best drink was a tropical blender. and the best food item was the all american burrito. it's because it's all natural food and by preference i LOVE all my salt, fats, preservatives and all that unhealthy stuff. not their fault haha. another thing to keep in mind is that sometimes they'll run out of ingredients because they use fresh and local ingredients. read more

Ok, saw the owner lurks around here and responds, so it's worth writing this review. Came here for the first time for the wifi and to get work done. I usually go to the Starbucks nearby when in the area but I'd rather patronize a locally owned place. First thing that greeted me when I walked in the door was an overflowing pile of dirty dishes stacked in the trash can by the door, baking in the sun. This is at about 5:00 pm, so well after the lunch rush. The windows were filthy, by the way, but not so filthy you couldn't see the pile of dirty soup bowls. Ordered an iced mocha that tasted like a five dollar glass of watered down chocolate milk. AC was broken, apparently. You had fans installed, but they were stone still. There's a sink behind the counter marked "Handwashing sink only." It was crammed full of dirty dishes. Don't know where your employees are washing their hands. Two women got done eating and got up but the bin on top of the trash can was so full they couldn't put their dishes down. Finally, two more staff people came in from outside, and started moving dishes in from the top of the trash can. It took two people. I told the older of them "I was going to quiz you about that." He said "Yeah, I was think of letting them pile up for two days." I said "I wouldn't even joke about that if I worked in a restaurant." He made another joke and I asked him "Are you the owner?" "I'm one of the managers." "You wouldn't talk like that, if you were the owner." It explains a lot, though, doesn't it? Anyway, good luck, owner! You've got some work to do. I'll come back soon and give it another look, and fairly report any progress! Meanwhile, if the front of the house is run like that, I'd be taking a good look at the kitchen, as well. read more

I've been passing this place forever and have never gone in. One day I was hungry and read the reviews and decided to try. Really impressed to see they donate all their profits to charity so that also helps. Inside the atmosphere is nice. Though I wish they had more variety in seating. There is only one couch and the rest are hard seats. I would like to sit on a couch or a cushion when I go to a cafe. Another negative for me was the music. It was all Christian rock, which I personally didn't like and was surprised by but it's not loud and you can bring your own headphones and listen to something on your phone like I did. I got the veggie frittata and chai tea latte. The Chai tea latte isn't the best I've ever had but good enough. The frittata was delicious once I put hot sauce, salt and pepper on it. But I'm just one of those ppl who like a lot of seasoning, I put that on everything.. One negative is no one checked on me , offered to remove anything from my table or see if I needed anything. So with that I'm not sure what the tip is supposed to be for. Another negative is the caramel cheesecake looked delicious. It cost $5 and I took one bite and I was done. I LOVE cheesecake but that tasted terrible. Like they left it in the fridge uncovered for a week before they put it out. It was definitely not fresh and I went there earlier on in the day so I know there is no way they got it that day for it to taste like that. But even when they saw me throwing it in the trash after only taking one bite (they did see me) no one asked me if I liked my food or if I wanted to try something else.. Again.. What's the tip for if not the extra services? Anyway I'll go back because it's close to my house, it wasn't terrible, there's more that i want to try and I love cafes. read more

Cute little place with food that has big flavor! I saw HBC on Yelp before but thought they were closed because their PDF menu says they are only open till 3pm. Come to find out they were open till 8! My boyfriend and I decided to call in our order and they said it would only take 5 mins! The cafe is super cute with a chill vibe and the staff seemed friendly. I ordered the chicken pesto panini and OMG...soooo gooood! The pesto flavor wasn't overbearing and tasted fresh. I got the pumpkin apple bacon soup as my side and let me tell you....I wanted to live in this soup. It was smooth, creamy, and perfect for fall. I want to get the recipe to try to make it! My boyfrienf got the southwestern turkey panini which was pretty ok and the baja chicken enchilada soup which had a little kick to it but very good. Overall, I would a great first experience so we'll definitely be coming again!
