Great coffee, WiFi works, but there aren't enough electrical outlets so not a great place to set up camp and get work done. If you're looking for a place with a good cup of coffee and seating to chat with a friend this is a great place. If you're looking for the typical coffee shop to do a bunch of online work you're going to be limited to 1 battery's worth of work. To each his own. Also has an outdoor seating area, which is nice. read more

Had to try this spot since its in my neighborhood! It looks really nice inside and the staff is very friendly! Although I'm really disappointed by the price.. $4.50 for a small iced chai tea. I can get a large drink at Starbucks for that much. makes it hard to want to choose small businesses over massive chains when their prices don't compete. read more

My favorite coffee spot. Consistently high quality product & services. The baristas truly give a shit about what they are doing and the customer experience! read more

Upon arrival, we realized it was where Pearl Cup used to be! The interior is nicely decorated in a uniform houndstooth pattern in light wood, with accents of turquoise. However, all they have for seating are backless stools, so it was very uncomfortable. My friend and I already had coffee and dessert elsewhere prior to visiting, so I opted for the Blueberry Iced Tea and my friend got an iced cocktail drink (with black tea, no alcohol) per the barista's recommendation. Neither drink met our expectations, as the blueberry tea came pre-brewed (a huge disappointment) and the cocktail tasted a bit strange. Service was pleasant, and prices are reasonable for the location. Parking is available on the street and in the lot behind the neighboring building. Not sure if I will return to try their coffee, but I definitely want to get my hands on one of their signature TX mugs! read more

Houndstooth is right up there with the best coffee shops in Dallas. I love their cozy and modern feel - no crusty couches. The coffee is fantastic and the staff is super knowledgeable. I wasn't sure what I was in the mood for but Tavner made sure I got something I would love. Another great Dallas find! Check it out for your next meeting, date night, or early morning wake-up. read more

Welcome to Dallas, Houndstooth. I first tried you in your hometown Austin, and was very impressed. You sure are geeky about coffee, with coffee/espresso classes in the afternoon that I hope you eventually do here. I was very sad to see Pearl Cup go, but I'm very happy to see you fill the shoes, particularly because I'm not a huge fan of the alternative on lower Greenville. You offer great beans including NC's Counter Culture and I hear you also have your own roaster. Your flavorings are limited but it's because you are focused on the bean. A little more expensive than the others...cups of coffee start at $2-$3. Excited to have you and hope you stay for a while. read more

When you walk in the aroma of the coffee just permeates the inside it smells absolutely wonderful the coffee is right on point we had a furtado and a cappuccino and then we got a couple tacos, they have tacos from taco deli! read more

I'm usually the type to love bougie coffee shops, but the drinks were too tiny, too over-iced, and too over-priced in this case.

My roommate (a self proclaimed coffeesnob) recommended this place so I came by with two friends to sip coffee and chat. The space itself is open though small and so minimal that the menu itself is barebones on a small chalkboard (though not on the wall). Most people were studying or doing something on their laptops so definitely felt weird to be the only ones talking. I got a latte and like most non-Starbucks coffee shops, was about $5 for a small mug. It wasn't bad but nothing exceptional though to be fair I don't know much about coffee. It's admittedly out of my way so probably won't frequent it as often as there're other places closer to me. read more

Houndstooth is on the cusp of breaking into my top spots in DFW. The coffee here, while not the best I've had, is delicious. Sampling both their house and seasonal espresso, I was happy to find something that seemed to be breaking away from the dry, dark coffees that infested Dallas for such a long time. My favorite part of the experience here, though, was the cafe. The design was amazing, with many levels and great use of space. The colors are vibrant but not imposing, and the space's flow is so organic. I would definitely recommend this spot to those looking to explore new coffee in DFW. read more

Love this place! Their chai tea is unlike anything else I've ever had, in a good way. The have a lot of exotic espressos that add great flavor and flare to your drinks. The baristas are incredible, super kind and super helpful. Don't skip out!! read more

This coffee is great, well brewed, but good god I am never coming back here to pay $12 for two small coffees. I think they need a reality check because these are overly hipster prices. I don't think I can justify paying that much when you can get equally good coffee elsewhere. read more

I love it when employees at a pricey coffee joint have better things to do than greet you with a smile and offer help. A cute counter girl with pretty blue eyes wanted nothing more than for someone else to help me. When I told her I didn't need a menu and ordered a cold brew, she got the pre-poured coffee, put in the ice in handed it to me and charged me, not once did a HI, a Smile or a THANK YOU cross her lips. So no tip crossed my fingers. Coffee was good, though I can't eat sugar and there was no sugar substitute option. read more

Love Houndstooth. The coffee is absolutely outstanding, and the staff are always chill and cordial, definitely never pretentious. They have a great coffee culture. Other businesses trying to compete should take note. They have along way to go if they want to catch up. read more

Decent stop in Dallas. I'm happy that Dallas' coffee scene is (finally) growing. Albeit small, I think they did a good job at decorating and use their space wisely. The latte itself was fine .. I am curious to see how they compare to other shops in the area. read more

This was once my Sunday afternoon mecca for studying, reading, and people watching. Since the old business has moved on and my family and I have relocated to the suburbs, I seldom find myself in the neighborhood. I was lucky enough to be in the area on a Thursday afternoon and came in to check out the new digs. They didn't change much in terms of layout, mostly aesthetics and furniture. I tried the Japanese iced coffee and the staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable. The drink was very good but I don't see myself driving across town for one. Overall I'm happy another coffee shop decided to take over the corner and I'm sure they'll do well. read more

Friendly staff. Clean environment. Good coffee. Located in a cool area. Would def drive the distance to come back

Solid coffee, but a bit overpriced, in my opinion. The coffee was good, but I've had better. The inside is open and airy, but the seats don't have backs (they're stools), making it less comfortable to sit for extended periods of time. Service is friendly, but there's not much else that makes me want to return. read more

I have tried the Peruvian beans in a cortado and it was great, the taste is rich with almond notes and the aftertaste lasted long! Highly recommended read more

While I loved the teal stools, I was disappointed that the only type of chairs they had are stools. As a gal that needs lumbar support, I constantly found myself slouching. I was also underwhelmed with the number of outlets. Yes, it's a coffee shop to enjoy coffee, but I'm used to easy access to numerous outlets. They keep the coffee shop a bit chilly, so bring a cardigan. The plus side: the outside patio was calming and it was a nice view of the street. read more

Tasty coffee of good quality. The cold brew is good, especially now when it's 100 degrees out. The service is also great, very friendly staff. read more

They have a really big open space inside with a lot of natural light coming in and also has outside seating. They have benches and stools so you can really spread out. The coffee was good and baristas really friendly. read more

The best Coffeeshop in town. Baristas are uniformly nice and the crowd isn't overwhelming like at the pearl cup before. Favorite place to work at on weekends. read more

Coffee is ok but not worth over $4 good for just a small Americano. The coffee shop is nice and has a nice outside area but the coffee doesn't warrant over $4 for a cup. read more

Coffee was great. Atmosphere was calm. Houndstooth could earn the fifth star if it offered a better variety of pastries and/or desserts. I would come back if in the neighborhood! read more

Houndstooth is a solid coffee joint that screams "you're in the hipster part of town." You'll also see the occasional Dallasite in yoga pants pop by after yoga practice out in the wild. I'm a sucker for Houndstooth. Their coffee is great but I wish that they had more food options that tacos and pastries. This place can get packed with hipsters all over the place in their man buns, plaid shirts and Mac books. Coffee gets made fairly quickly and you always see the same baristas there all of the time (not that I am complaining, coffee is good every single time). I always get the consistent latte art heart. I know a lot of folks will work from Houndstooth but it's not a big place, so I personally don't think it's worth my while to do so. But you can definitely find someone updating their blog or doing some code while sipping on some fancy drip coffee that dripped out of a Chemex. read more

Best coffee in Dallas by miles. Being spoiled by the great cafes of Vancouver, I was beginning to think I'd never find anything decent after 5 days of searching but finally found it. First place to get the milk temperature just right. Great decor, great staff, and a perfect cappuccino! read more

Laid back... quite... relaxing! Swung by to grab a quick coffee but landed up spending a good hour or so and just hanging out. They have all the usual coffee and tea options! And some homemade cookies. A simple menu. Had a cup of cappuccino and ginger molasses cookie - was delicious! Will be back if I am in the neighbor hood... read more

I've been a couple times for double shots of espresso , and they were good . But all of a sudden there "double shot" looks like a single but still a double price ... going back to MudSmith. Even the quality of the espresso isn't as good as when they first opened. Bummed out read more

This place is my favorite coffee place this side of the metroplex. These guys are coffee people through and through, yet the baristas were really friendly and helpful. It was on a really cold day that my girlfriend and I came in, and we fancied ourselves some good pour-overs. They gave some suggestions, telling us what flavors each coffee had. Both our cups were great. Houndstooth is also a nice place to study; wi-fi and lots of table space. read more

Great coffee! But if you are going there to get some work done pick another place. There are hardly any power outlets. Not the typical coffee shop where you can go for hours and get stuff done. read more

Slightly disappointed. I got a vanilla latte and it just feels like it's missing something. The coffee doesn't seems to have much body and actually tastes pretty watered down. There is also little vanilla flavor. The parking is also hard and confusing. There isn't really any sort of clear marking or signs that help direct you. Won't be coming here again. read more

Awesome coffee! We got a latte and cortato. Both were amazing. Staff was very friendly and artistic. read more

I love this place, they definitely know their coffee, I'm a 100% certified coffee snob, they do me right here LOL. They have Almond milk, which is an absolute must in a coffee shop that I am going to frequent. Decaf almond milk latte, that is my usual drink, this place does not disappoint, they are based out of Austin, what else do you need to know?! read more

Great service. Super polite. Speedy and very good spot for chatting with friends or studying.

Came here recently on the whim per a friend's recommendation. Got the the latte (they didn't have the coffee I wanted at the time) but the barista gave other recommendations and the product was amazing! The atmosphere is light and minimalist, which I love. The barista that was there at the time is friendly and we had a nice chat (definitely something I look for). Prices are a bit steep, but you get what you pay for. read more

Houndstooth fills Pearl Cup's old space. The prices suggest that they take themselves seriously. The aesthetic is modern/hip but relatively quiet/studious. Be prepared for stools, community tables, and MacBooks. read more

Second time returning after a not so great experience. However, they won me back! The barista educated us on the coffee to milk ratio for an iced latte option (which never occurred before at any coffeehouse). The vanilla latte was insanely delicious! The vibe was not pretentious and customers were focused on whatever they were doing instead of people watching. It was very cozy, delicious iced latte and educated baristas! Great job Houndstooth! read more

Such a cute cozy atmosphere. We ordered chai tea and Japanese brew tea, it was kinda expensive. The chai tea was lacking in tea flavor and kinda heavy on the latte side and Japanese brew was too bitter for my liking. read more

Solid shop. Not a lot of frills, but they know what they're doing with their beans. They may be a little vacant, attitude-wise, but I'm not going there to make friends. read more
