Came here for a drink while my grandma had an appointment and we sat at the bar. The bartender was very attentive and super kind! I got an Aperol spritz and it was lovely. The bar is a wrap around so there is plenty of seating. They also had free standing tables to sit at too. We had such a lovely time that we ended up making a reservation for dinner to celebrate my parents anniversary. We first ordered the firecracker shrimp as an appetizer. OMG these are sooo good and to die for. I got the chicken parmesan for dinner and that was very delicious. Both the crème brûlée and brownie sundae were incredible. If I had to choose one, I'd go back for the brownie sundae. Our waiter for dinner wasn't the best and just seemed like he was going through the motions so I would have preferred if he had been a little more engaged. Thankfully we weren't in a rush! Food was great , server was very attentive . Came here while visiting family because it was nostalgic for my husband and I. Houlihan's was our go to spot while dating, 30 years ago . Houlihan's is one of our favorite go-tos, and for good reason! Even though it's usually a little busy, we've never had to wait for a table, which is such a pleasant surprise. The parking is always something we struggle to find, but the total wine next door usually makes it easier.. I always get the parmesan-crusted walleye because it's just that good- crispy, flavorful, and perfectly done every time. The mashed potatoes are a must, too!! My husband is loyal to the jambalaya and orders it every single visit. The portion is generous, so he always has leftovers, and the best part is that it reheats just as well. Wow, I discovered a dish at this old haunt that I liked so much I got it three times in a week: Georges Bank Scallops with asparagus risotto. Perfectly cooked all-round, from the translucent, creamy scallops to the delicious risotto. Perfect. I have also recently enjoyed the baked French onion soup; however the loaded baked potato soup was disappointingly kind of bland. Those scallops, though. So yummy. read more

Great food, good service and nice atmosphere! We always enjoy going to Houlihan's. They also have a good "Happy Hour"

This is a regular spot for my husband and me. It has a large parking lot. We are always greeted with a warm welcome. When there is a bit of a wait we make our way over to the bar to get our drinks started ahead of time. We haven't felt the need to make a reservation yet. We have found the bartenders to be extremely kind and helpful when making choices. It's typically busy but never overwhelming, with plenty of seats and space for everyone at the bar. I love their salads they are a great size and very filling. The wait staff is so nice we have never had a bad experience. They always have answers to all our questions. Their crème brûlée is my husband's absolute favorite. It's a generous size and has berries on top and is made just perfectly. The only problem we have is that the desert can't be picked up for takeout. read more

Went for appetizers and drinks with a friend from 6-8pm. We sat on the patio. We had an older women(60+) as our server. Nice lady but NOT attentive at all. My friend asked for water 2 different times and never received it. Our alcoholic beverages were empty and she never stopped at our tablet to see if we wanted another round. We had to flag her down. It's feeezing outside, so take out is the way to go. Houlihan's stuffed chicken breast is certainly the way to go! It is hot, with cream cheese filling, served with mashed potatoes and green beans. Our service was outstanding! It was the first time that we have sat in a restaurant in our area where we could actually have a conversation without being deafened by noise or music. EDIT: I contacted the comment section on the website as recommended (and before recommended) with no action or follow up. I have changed my rating to match the poor customer service. Last week we got the entirely wrong order of wings for our take out order. The manager took care of that over the phone. We wanted something quick so we ordered take out over the phone. I'll spare all the details but one again, the order was inaccurate and one of the items was drastically undercooked. The young woman on the phone seemed rushed and clearly wasn't paying attention and kitchen must have felt rushed as well. I'm not sure why because there weren't many people inside. I submitted feedback through the website but suspect they may be used to and hope we just had bad luck that it was twice in a row for us. read more

I haven't done much eating at this place, but my coworkers and I frequent here for their happy hour specials right after work. There are few things like a good beer after a long day. Appearance/Atmosphere: Located in a plaza with a few other big name restaurants this place has a stand-alone building basically right in the middle of it all with its own private parking lot. The restaurant has a modern feel to it. Lots of cool, unique paintings on the wall that don't really follow any particular theme, but are enjoyable to look at. Upon entering the building you're kindly greeted, buy normally not 1, but 2 hosts. To the left and straight back is the main dining room filled with comfortable booths and tables. To the right is the bar, where we normally go, where you have to go to partake in happy hour. Service: Awesome. I've been here maybe 4-5 times and each time the service is consistently great. They never miss a beat and always make sure I have what I need all while doing it with their own unique personalities. Food: The only food I've had here was the "Burger '72" which is their fresh blend of sirloin, chuck and brisket all topped with arugula and a fried stuffed mushroom. I really enjoyed its blend of meaty, salty, savory flavors with the crunch of the fried stuffed shroom. As of now it's not offered on the menu anymore, but I have confidence in the rest of their burgers based on this one that I had. During happy hour they offer a buy one, get one free of the same kind on beer and wine. You do HAVE to get the same beer twice, you can't mix and match. If you come with friends though, you guys can all order different beers then pass around the extras. Value: Great place to come get a good lunch or dinner and not break the bank. A nice burger for around $13.00 isn't too bad. The buy one get one free on the beer and wine usually gets me 2 really good craft beers for about $6.00. I see why this restaurant chain is so successful. Not only do they have good food, good beer, but the hospitality is truly off the charts. We were trying to find a place close by to eat since it's quite a ways from town. Not a lot of options in the area. This fit what we were looking for.... I'd been here before and got bar food (some tuna bites and deep fried mushroom balls) so I didn't have high expectations for a proper dinner, but the menu was impressive and service was excellent. I'm currently on a really strict diet (booo) and I felt bad ordering off the menu but our waitress was so sweet and didn't make me feel bad for ordering a side of asparagus and salad-less side of grilled chicken combined as an entree. The food was really tasty and portion sizes are impressive. Even my sides were plentiful and filling, and my sister got the organic power greens salad which was massive and looked really fresh - she said it's her favorite thing here! We read some not so great reviews but decided to give Houlihan's a try anyway. We are glad we did! We had the stuffed mushroom appetizer which was delicious, followed by a house salad, also very tasty. Our main events were the Huli-Huli chicken (seasonal) and the George Banks scallops. My boyfriend and I went here after work for his birthday, and we are definitely going back. Especially for happy hour, they have some great looking specials. We go the seasonal Tuna Poke Nachos to start and they were amazing. For an entree he had a pile of food that was the Fish and Chips, and I am talking a whole huge fish fillet and a mound of fresh made fries. I got the Seared Georges Bank Scallops (small comes with 4 good sized ones) and I topped it with a bit of fresh cracked black pepper. Both were delicious, with leftovers from all of it. We also got some of their cocktails after our beers, great Manhattans and Martinis packed with plenty of alcohol for the price. The menu is varied and the staff is friendly and attentive. We had a great experience today. Service was wonderful and staff kept up with things. I'm a patient person and understand every place is under staffed right now. I go with the flow. They were very professional and attentive. Shout out to Nicole H and the food runners! Shout out to the BOH as well. My seared scallops and asparagus risotto were delicious and my dining partners loved their ahi tuna app. The guy that just ordered chips and salsa and four beers missed out. haha Thankfully he was not the driver. Tried this place for the first time. Party of 5, we had a reservation and were sat immediately. Our waitress forgot about our drinks and needed to be reminded, and it took about 20 minutes after being seated to actually order our food. We were seated at 6:40 and didn't receive our meals until 7:45, when we had to ask for the bill immediately and all take our food to go since we had somewhere to be after at 8. Our waitress was not very talkative or responsive and one of the cocktails we were served had large chunks of fruit and no ice, while the first was served beautifully. Had to lower my rating after my last (and final?) patronage of this establishment. Never have I been so disappointed in a meal to the point of where I had to send it back. Never, until last Saturday night. On top of a meal that had sat for what must have been 20 minutes to half an hour under heat lamps, they had the gall to actually try to serve it to me; A table of 4 had been seated well after our table (of 2) and competed their meal before we did. Another table of 2, seated well past us, also were also in and out before us. I've never had such a horrible wait time here at Houlihan's. Manager was supposed to stop by our table after our waiter disappeared (after dropping off this debacle of a dish) to look over the situation, but never showed up. The bill took 3 times to be corrected - I'll through the manager as we were told, so that was also an extreme disappointment to top off a horrible dining experience. The Buffalo wings (small-sized serving portion as part of their "Happy Hour", so really not a deal) were excellent though. Avoid this place. It's not what it used to be. read more
