If you're someone who has a hard time finding the motivation to exercise, Hotworx is the place for you. It's extremely difficult to get bored because of the many options of classes they offer. It's also really nice that all members get 24/7 access to the space. As a student, I work my workouts around my school schedule, and it's seriously so nice to know there's ALWAYS something available for me to take. I would recommend parking in the San Pedro/Market Street garage and do a quick 3 minute walk to Hotworx - the first hour and a half of parking there is free! Staff is VERY friendly and helpful. They also do an excellent job at making sure the space is clean. Overall, I've had a really good experience with Hotworx in downtown! read more

INFRARED SAUNA + WORKOUTS I'd never heard of HOTWORX until I moved to San Jose, but as someone who's obsessed with hot yoga, I was super curious and had to check it out. With the many health benefits of infrared saunas, the concept of combining them with fitness classes seemed like the perfect fit for me. UNIQUE STUDIO HOTWORX is a one-of-a-kind gym with multiple infrared saunas running virtual classes 24/7. A virtual instructor leads a variety of workouts, including barre, Pilates, yoga, stretching, cycling, rowing, and more. Each sauna can fit up to three people, but I've often had the sauna all to myself. The studio also has a small weightlifting area and a shower for those who need to get ready after their workout. Everything is well-maintained, clean, and inviting. AFFORDABLE MEMBERSHIP Because there are no live instructors, the membership cost is very reasonable - especially if you get someone else to join you. Just know that your first month will be the most expensive since you'll pay an enrollment fee and have to buy their sauna-specific equipment (like a yoga mat and towel). LOVE IT I've been a member for over two months now, and I'm hooked! The 24/7 class schedule makes it so easy to fit in a workout no matter how hectic my day gets. Plus, the staff is super friendly and the whole vibe of the place is just perfect. TLDR If you're curious about HOTWORX, your first class is free, so give it a try and see for yourself! It's a unique and affordable gym that offers infrared sauna workouts with a wide range of virtual classes, perfect for busy schedules. Highly recommended for anyone looking to combine fitness with the benefits of infrared heat. read more

I love this gym!! I've been to several HOTWORX locations in multiple states, and recently had an awful experience at one in particular, and it made me realize how top tier HOTWORX SJ is. The staff is absolutely amazing. One work out and I felt amazing but also felt so welcomed. I was hooked after one session. Brought my husband and now I'm a member! I was looking up a hot fitness studio and this place is perfect! Basically, you book a time and workout type (stretching, rowing, biking, etc). You are then assigned to a sauna room that will show a video for the workout you chose. They use an app that shows you how many others will me in your sauna room for the class (max 3; you can work out a time where you get the room to yourself). You come in (members get a combination to open the door) and workout! They have a space with free weights outside of the sauna, bathrooms with showers (I only saw 1 shower) and it's open 24/7. There is a city parking garage about a block away. Street parking is about a block away, too. Just make sure to stay hydrated and do not push yourself if you're feeling out of it from the heat. Take breaks as needed!! read more

Hotworkx is my jam! As a new mommy it has been difficult for me to get back into working out. A friend of mine had been going here for a few years and suggested I give it a try. After taking just one, hot, intimate cycling class I was ready to sign up. It's intense at first but you sweat so gooood. The facility is very clean! I absolutely love that it is open to members 24/7. I look forward to my work out sessions atleast 4 times a week. The staff is super responsive & always willing to help and answer questions. The members I've encountered are all kind. This gym is located downtown so I try to arrive a little early to find parking and get situated. I'm excited to see the results I receive while being consistent here. If you're thinking about giving it a try I say GO FOR IT! read more

This was my first time ever trying an infrared energy workout. I heard about it through Instagram and decided to give it a try since they had a free class deal. Their staff was responsive over text when it came to reaching out, setting a date, and providing all the info. HOTWORX is located on W Santa Clara street and you can park at the San Pedro Parking Garage (free for 90 minutes). Being in Downtown and knowing parking is manageable is nice. It's better than spending forever finding a spot and paying the meter. From the garage, it's only a short walk in between. It was a little tricky at first because my navigation took me more around San Pedro instead of the actual location. They have a 24 hour gym that's secured, 5 individual saunas, and a shower. They offer 10 different workouts such as barre, yoga, cycling, and rowing. For your workout, there are individual saunas. I was really surprised by this and appreciated having the room to myself. It feels private and less intimidating. There was also a virtual instructor guiding the workout which made it easier to follow along. If it gets too hot or loud, the temperature and sound are adjustable. Their membership is $80/mo for all access. Kinda pricey but compared to other fitness studios, that's a pretty good deal for a boutique gym. Other places I've been are $100 for 4 sessions or $200 unlimited. I think if you workout often but want variety, privacy, and 24 access it would be a good fit. The first payment is pro-rated. However, there is a $99 enrollment fee and 3 month commitment. Because of that, I wish they did more than just a one time trial. If it was a week free or 3 time trial, it would give a better idea of how well it fits into someone's needs. read more

The best infrared sauna gym!!! I've been a member for a little over a month now and I'm hooked. The gym itself is incredibly clean and tidy and every staff member (and gym members) are absolutely amazing. Everyone here is so kind and welcoming and I love the idea of virtual instruction and 24 hour access! I feel safe in the gym and love the flexibility of being able to come however often I want. All the workouts are great and I've especially been into the hot cycle sessions! There's so many options for classes-not just yoga! I'm excited to try hot iso next! read more

I've been a member at Hotworx San Jose since January, and it's become one of the few gyms I visit consistently. The location boasts 8 saunas equipped with modern facilities including 2 bikes, 1 rowing machine, 1 Keiser total body trainer, and 4 isometric workout saunas, alongside a well-maintained standard gym for weight lifting and more. What sets Hotworx apart is not just the quality of the workouts but also the staff who are super attentive. They are incredibly knowledgeable, not only about various workout styles and nutrition but also surprisingly adept at engaging in more intellectual discussions, like the impact of Paul Volker on interest rates. My favorite routines include a mix of hot Pilates, iso, core, warrior, and stretch classes, complemented by heated rowing sessions. The facility is open 24 hours, which has been a lifesaver for my hectic schedule, allowing me to fit in workouts late at night or whenever I can. The downtown San Jose location is perfect--safe, walkable, and surrounded by great restaurants and activities. Makes me wish there were more Hotworx locations around the Bay Area, especially in San Francisco or Daly City. Joining Hotworx has notably improved my fitness levels and posture, and the sauna workouts are incredibly effective at maintaining calm on stressful days. Plus, the cost of membership is very reasonable. I cannot recommend Hotworx highly enough for anyone looking to enhance their fitness journey in a supportive and dynamic environment! read more

Love this location! The staff Rosie, Paige and Nora are very friendly and answered all the questions that I had. I really appreciated how knowledgeable and approachable they were. The infrared saunas are well-maintained and perfectly heated, and the workouts are a perfect balance of intensity and resistance- you will definitely feel accomplished after trying the workouts. There are a variety of workouts to choose from with various times. They have towels, matts, and water available to purchase. Plus a small area to get in some weight training, which was a nice touch. Added to that, they have an app that makes it easy to see the schedule, book your sessions, and track your calories burned. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get a great workout in a top-notch sauna! read more

I joined this month and I absolutely love this place! I'm trying to go as frequently as I can. The staff here is quite friendly and approachable, the facility is clean, and I love the concept of the infrared workouts with virtual instructors. Although the infrared sauna rooms are cozy and quaint, I often times am able to get a room alone which I like as an introverted person. The app is easy to use and I like how efficient it is to book or cancel a session. I highly recommend this place! I enjoy the hot yoga and hot pilates the most so far. (: read more

Alright, I wanted to wait until I did this for one month to give you a true review. I originally signed up for Hotworx because I wanted to incorporate some hot sauna workouts with my Functional Fitness workouts. Lifting heavy weights and moving intensely with high reps is really taxing on my body. Over the years, I started to feel certain areas of my body getting tighter, which further affected my movements and caused a few minor injuries. I started to look for places where I could incorporate some stretching but also burn some calories. I also was looking for a place that would be open during odd hours because I work 3/12 night shifts. Hence Hotworx! I signed up back in March but COVID happened. I gained 15 pounds while in quarantine and I am so thankful Hotworx was able to open up in June because I realized that I am def not a "home workout" type gal. Since starting exactly on June 1st, I have been doing 2 ISO workouts 3-4 days out of the week. I lost a lot of my strength during quarantine and I felt so weak in the beginning, being unable to hold ISO movements. After two weeks, I started to feel more accomplished and stronger because I was finally able to hold these movements. After a whole month, the workouts are more tolerable to me because I can actually hold ISO movements without super struggling - yay for strength. Changes I have seen include being more mobile and flexible which are important to me since I still do Functional Fitness. I have noticed being able to get deeper in my back squats because I have more ankle mobility. I also feel stronger in my core again which helps with a lot of gymnastic movements in Functional Fitness. After a while month of being consistent with Hotworx and throwing in a handful of Functional Fitness workouts, I have seen results not only in my strength, but also my body. On June 1st, I started off with 32" waist and 130lbs. On July 1st, my waist was 28" and 124lbs. My "weight loss" did include a macro counting/minor cal deficit diet. I am happy with my results so far and continuing with the same plan for the month of July. Other misc. info to add to this review: Membership is $80/month if you commit on a monthly basis. You do have to purchase a mat and mat towel, which are made to withstand the heat of the sauna, at an additional cost. Other gym items like bands and rollers can be purchased at the store or you can bring your own if you have them already. Because of COVID, only 1 person is allowed in each sauna at a time, which my introvert self is loving so much. My favorite Hotworx workouts are: Hot Buns Hot Core And on occasions: Hot Bands Hot Pilates Hot Iso Hot read more

Hotworx - Proof that this works if you stay consistent. - Yoga Near Me - San Jose, California

Today as I was parking in front of Hotworx at 6:55am, I learned that the city closed off street parking from 7am to 5pm that started yesterday 11/18 and will be closed off until 11/22. Since this occurred last week, it appears that the city is still enforcing parking restrictions this week. The owners and employees send text messages to promote their deals and I wish they would have communicated in advance about the parking restrictions this week as I could have planned my workouts ahead and not have to turn around to go home. I did not have time to find parking elsewhere. I just wish the owners would have notified their members that there will be no street parking available during the day for this week, but I guess that won't be good business for them. I really love the idea of infrared heat exercises especially when you need it for muscle relaxation and recovery. I have a back injury and really enjoyed hot yoga and hot stretch to ease the aches in the morning and after a workout. It's definitely good for weight loss! However, I had a good run with hotworx for a few months but I don't think I can keep up with the limited street parking and restrictions. I realize I am still relatively new to Hotworx and that I am unsure of how frequently the city limits street parking for maintenance, but so far it's been several times since I've joined. I try to arrive to Hotworx in the mornings and complete my workouts before 9am since parking is free before 9am, but that wasn't the case for me today and it won't be for this entire week. Although it's 24 hour access I don't feel comfortable walking to my car downtown when it's dark or at night especially when the sun sets at 5pm now. If this business was located on a parking lot that's open to the public - guaranteed I will be here everyday. I'm aware of the garage parking options but one location is down the alley, which is the closest and the other garage location is like a 10 minute walk. I'm not sure if you have to pay for garage parking or if it's free for a certain time like the street parking. I just think why would you pay for parking in addition to paying $80-$100 for a monthly gym membership is crazy to me. Sadly, it's not worth it for me anymore. There's a lot of good reviews on here so it seems like it's working well for others. I just don't know how members are doing it staying with hotworx for so long and dealing with limited/paid parking but it's good to know others are making it work and maybe it might work for you! I still recommend hotworx and I would give this business 5 stars but with the parking situation is not ideal for me. If you're still here..thanks for reading! read more

This gym is the first to come to the bay area at least the Silicon Valley! There's nothing like it in San Jose because this hot yoga studio has virtual instructors within each box that could fit three people to work out in. Each Hardwork studio box has a virtual instructor that is displayed on a TV in front of you while you work out in 125° infrared energy heat. Your body gets acclimated to the heat after that you get used to it even after a long day of work it's so refreshing to get in and out after a 30 minute workout. You feel lighter sweating out all the toxins and to detox your body the same time! Working out in a infrared heat sauna does wonders to your muscles it sure does loosen up any tight joints/hip or chronic pain that you might have. Especially for myself I do you have a light knee injury that if I am not careful with my cardio or when I lift weights the joint hurts but after using the infrared sauna work out it's so light on my joints and recovery! read more

Hotworx - Cutting water weight while toning up using their infrared sauna workout rooms - Yoga Near Me - San Jose, California

Very awesome first session! I signed up immediately. Paige was so helpful and knowledgeable about everything.

Awesome concept but the schedule did not work for me. I signed up for the cycling class but little did I know the workout was only 15 min. long. HIIT is not supposed to last long like LISS sessions but I woke up early per usual to try this class at 5AM on a Sunday only to leave after 15 minutes. I should have read about the class before I made the 22 minutes drive (round trip). I liked how I was given a code to enter or I can use an app to enter. I was the only one that Sunday morning. Quite frankly I was a bit scared at first. There is a small dumbbell section and TRX. Rooms are broken down by the type of workouts. There is a sauna room, a rowing room, a cycling room, and I believe a free-style room. There is a core, Pilates, etc. workouts that utilizes the free-style room. That room and the sauna requires their hemp yoga mat. It's quite expensive. The app you will need to download will enable you to book your slot and from there you will see which room you need to go to. If you are by yourself you can adjust the temperature or have the lights on or off. I had it on at the highest temperature (it warmed up after 2 minutes) and worked out w/ the lights off. Just be sure to turn it off once you are done and wipe down the machines. What I realized is that this place is for folks that can workout various times to experience the different workouts that they offer. I would be pretty bored after 2 days if I did the same 15 min. HIIT cycling class. Super friendly service. Canceling was easy. Maybe when Gavin is older but currently I am looking for an apartment which means no more working out in the early AM whilst he is sound asleep. read more

I want to post this but then again I don't hahaha why? I want to keep them to myself... but I also know in this environment we live in having a healthy place to be able to workout where everyone is conscious of cleanliness and mindfulness is important... that being said heated workouts here are amazing, guided, 30 mins and done, but also there's you and another person in the sauna... they are great and customer service is a given here, the members are mindful of one another and because you have 24 hr access there's no excuses and also it allows for flexible workout times vs a crowded gym. All wear face masks unless in the sauna cuz it's hot in there and you're alone.... Most times or one other person, they have weights, TRX type machine, showers, everything you need for a full body workout. Free 90 min parking near by or if you live into be area get your cardio and walk here hahaha... I hope you all try it out at least once and your first workout is free so you're really the only one getting in your own way! They have monthly memberships as well as drop in pricing, swag and tons of cool things to help keep a healthy lifestyle, enjoy the burn and give them a try! read more
