My new favorite yoga studio in Tulsa. I love it here…read more I have been practicing yoga probably for 10 years. I wouldn't say I am a super good yogini or anything (still need to master the headstand and handstand!) but it is my favorite form of exercise and way to destress and stretch. I have gone to many different yoga classes and places over the years and have seen different styles and studios. Yoga has become so trendy and popular now and I think some places are now more of a yoga workout place and have forgotten the real aura of yoga and the breathing and calming down and all. Not that I don't like a good challenging workout, that is what I usually do! But Be Love incorporates a good workout with the breathing and calming aspect too. I have only been 4 times so far (the 9 am classes during the week) so I have not tried some of the soft yoga classes and other classes they have to offer. I have already joined-their drop in prices are better than most places in Tulsa to begin with and the monthly prices are really great, if you want to commit to unlimited. They have several options to choose from. One thing to try if you are new is their 2 weeks unlimited for $20, a great deal! To begin with, I love their atmosphere. They are at 6th and Peoria next to Phoenix Coffee (which I want to try!). Their place is warm and inviting. I love how when you walk in, it is an open room and the class is right there. They have a big garage door. It is fun to hear the street sounds. Someone said when the weather is nice they will open up the garage door. I think they have a very strong community, I am excited to see all what they do-they have a board with all kinds of fun things going on. Oh-they have an Intention for the Month-love that-July is New Beginnings, which totally resonates with me since my company I founded is based on the concept of new beginnings. The owners Joe and Margot are very sweet and so helpful. I love how they show different modifications to accommodate all kinds of people with varying practices. I love how it is so nonjudgmental-that is how yoga is supposed to be. One day last week I came flying in late (which I hate to do!) and I felt like a whirlwind coming in and then my feet were peeling everywhere (don't know if anyone noticed-I did the product Baby Feet a week ago-it is an exfoliant for your feet-awesome-the bad thing is you don't know when your feet will start peeling! So I felt like "Pigpen" from Charlie Brown. Ok maybe this is TMI!) Anyway no one scolded me for being late (some workout places shame you! Happened to my friend at a different place!), just met me with love and I don't think anyone noticed my peeling feet. That's another thing I love about yoga, is it is not a competition! Anyway, their classes are really great and everyone is really inviting and friendly. They are opening another studio in Broken Arrow in September so that will be great for everyone out south!

First time in with my friend and we giggled 2 minutes into the session. The instructor said…read moresomething to us which is fine, use your words. But he then proceeded to snap his fingers and point as if we were some dogs needing to be reeled in. It was entirely not that serious. Was super unwelcoming experience; for your first time you would think they would want you to have a good experience. But treating people with such disrespect and being demeaning is entirely not the way to go. I was super disappointed the entire rest of the time there and honestly uncomfortable.

Studio POP is the -ONLY- place you should want to work out at! I've never been the type that is…read moremotivated enough to go to the gym, until I found out that group exercise is what I needed! The welcoming and encouraging environment at Studio POP is what someone like me needed to start a regular routine of working out and yoga practice. When you're cycling, the lights are off and LED colored lights on the mirrors play to the music. This is my favorite since you don't have to worry about people seeing you get ugly if you need to! The music is upbeat and is the main focus of the ride, where trainers like my favorite, Nicole, ride to the beat of the song and incorporate fun moves to keep you going. On top of that, they always have the most encouraging and motivational words to share! Their yoga room is the complete opposite of the cycling room, very calm and serene. Classes are a very open environment for people from beginner to advanced, and instructors, while all having different styles of teaching, always offer an option that is either less strenuous or lets you go further with the pose. The entire staff is super friendly, and the owner, Abbie, is a bundle of joy! The facility is top notch and is always immaculate. They even have private showers so you can get ready for wherever you're going afterwards! This is the place to -invest- in your temple!

We started off with a yoga class, which definitely worked on many muscle groups (Core, back, leg, arm, and shoulder) to improve strength, flexibility, and overall well-being. The instructor had a very calm, soothing, and encouraging voice that helped us relax and ease and transition smoothly into the class. Following that, we jumped right into the spin class (indoor cycling workout) and pedaled very intensely to work on our hamstrings, quadriceps, and gluteal muscles. The spin instructor had great energy and was very motivating, which kept us going as long as we could. The music and lighting were also very upbeat and bright. After everything was over, we felt super tired, but glad that we came to this welcoming and encouraging environment. I highly recommend checking it out!

One…read morething that drew me to Salt Yoga was the heated yoga session as I have always wanted to try it. It didn't disappoint. I easily signed up on the app purchased one class to try and showed up. The class room is cozy and tranquil. The room heated isn't overwhelming and they provide mats, bolsters, and blankets to utilize. They have wipes and sprays available to clean at the end as well. From the start of class to the end it was cohesive and inviting...as it's my first time doing yoga it was amazing! I defiantly plan to join and attend more classes.

Let's talk about love and my first hot yoga experience here at Salt Yoga…read more I sweat. Even my belly button sweats, so naturally, the idea or even mention of hot yoga made me sweat. It took the forecast of an eminent blizzard for me to gain the courage to try hot yoga. My experience was like a Savage Garden song. I walked in and was warmly greeted by a well-run check in system. Once I filled out my paperwork, I was given a key-card tag to swipe when I attend classes in the future - something I have never seen at a yoga studio. Complimentary mats are available for use. There is a retail side where you can purchase some really cool yoga clothes, mats, etc. Cubbies are available to stuff purses and shoes in before entering the yoga room. It is beautiful, inspiring and comfortable with red brick walls and only a few mirrors. An infrared heating system kept me warm, never hot. The music was recognizable and kept the pace of poses while the peaceful and encouraging instructor guided us. The strength and sweat class was challenging, but I could see any level of yogi coming in and feeling good with the modification options which were explained. Yes, I did sweat; no, it wasn't uncomfortably profuse. After the class I felt so good I looked up the benefits of hot yoga and found them: Detoxifies the body Increases circulation Strengthens the cardiovascular system Improves skin appearance Strengthens the immune system Reduces pain and cellulite Here's to courage, heat and Savage Garden-like love.
