Amazing food! We had the boneless wings in the Thai chili sauce, jalapeño poppers and two French dips with a side of Mac and cheese. Everything was so delicious! Our server, Shawn, was so kind too! I definitely recommend!

This place is so fun!! The Potato skins were delicious and the service was amazing. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely love this food spot! We were driving thru Tucson and stopped here for lunch. Food portions are large and great for the price. We asked to sit near the window to look in on the mechanics working on cars. Very unique idea and they have live music advertised at night. The whole restaurant area is wonderfully decorated. Fun atmosphere and our server was beyond amazing. She was friendly and attentive while we ate. Food was delicious too. Recommend for locals and anyone passing through town.

The place is very clean, the service was outstanding and most of the food was Delish! The only downside was the Cole slaw....the only taste that it had was very mild vinegar..... The burgers were done to perfection and that rarely happens. The fries were crisp and tasty. The service was friendly and professional and the guy that served us was tacos for the eyes, and that's always a good thing. Give this place a try and I know it will be on your "favorites " list.

The atmosphere of this place is really nice. Really cool rustic look. The food was below average, more of a bar than a food place. I came to eat here right after they opened where there was 2 people in the whole place. My family and I of 3 still waited 45 minutes to get our food. Men's bathrooms were also absolutely disgusting.

Went to Hotrods on Saturday despite mixed reviews and experiences over the years. Happy to say it was AWESOME! Wings are smoked and then fried in Bacon Fat! I had the Mac N Cheese burger between 2 hunks of deep fried mac n cheese instead of a bun then covered in cheese....let that sink in. Wife had pulled pork sandwich which was great and friends had the Portabello Burger and French Dip. All were excellent! Service a bit slow but worth it! Atmosphere really interesting as they are restoring cars on site. Have a bar and pool tables on patio

Ask the Community - Hotrods Old Vail

Is the patio at Hot rods dog friendly?

Yes!

Are they still open?

I was last there about a month ago. Try their wings! They are great. Don't open until noon.

Do they have live music?

We were there on Wednesday evening and there wasn't live music but I think there might be on the weekend! Give them a call to find out.

This is a great place out on Old Spanish Trail. It's been here longer than the housing developments…read morein the area, and that gives it so much more charm. Great selection on the menu, prompt service. Both the server that helped us out on the front porch and the bartender were very friendly. All the customers around us seemed quite friendly and it has a strong "hometown" vibe for the area. I had the bacon - bleu cheese burger that was excellent and cooked perfectly. We also started with their wings, which beat those found at some of the wings places in the area. Good beer selection on tap. Eat outside if can; there's a great view of the Rincons. We will absolutely go back. Excellent across the board.

I've gone here on two separate occasions, and it's either around lunch hour or late afternoon…read more I love the little store, and outdoor patio with overhead lights above you like a canopy, overlooking mountain scenery and high speed traffic LOL However, the service in general needs improvement. It takes about 10 min. to be seated (let alone be acknowledged you're waiting in front of the cashier) and another 10 minutes for someone to take your drink orders and food. Twice I ordered something different on the menu only to be informed by the first waitress they don't have it, second choice I replaced with, they sent a waiter and he was pleasant and jokingly said they send him to give the bad news. I jokingly and politely asked why don't you let me know what you DO have available on the menu and I'll have that. So, I got the burger. The second time I went, we waited a yet again to be noticed. We ordered peach lemonade, only to be brought only lemonade with a slight tint of peach because the waitress said they didn't have enough peach so she poured what was left. Even before I ordered it, I said IF you have this peach lemonade, I'll order one. The waitress came back and asks how's the peach? LOL I'm like, it tastes just like lemonade. She was very nice about it and gave us a refill. Anyhow, for a small establishment, they either need more staff or if they do the staff isn't as attentive. Perhaps others have had very great experience from the moment you walk in and throughout your stay, but in my situation, it just didn't. The food, well, I can't say I tried anything other than burgers since they seem to be always out of everything. Maaaybbbeeee, until next time I'll go when I'm not sooo hungry.

It was pretty busy when we arrived and they only had one waitress and the bartender. The bartender, Felicia, jumped in to help the other waitress. Both of them were fantastic and handled the crowd expertly. We had the appetizer sampler, which was delicious. However, they were out of pot stickers so we got extra jalapeño poppers. The Tuna Tataki was very tasty and quite a lot for one order. The chicken solo was very tasty also. We had to order the smoked salmon sashimi due to being out of the plain salmon, but it was still delish. The Japanese bagel roll aka Philly roll tasted much better than last time. It tasted freshly made as opposed to the last visit. We really enjoyed our cocktails which were refreshing and yummy. This was a much more enjoyable meal and we were impressed with the service and the food. Great job to all involved, especially our server, Felicia, and we will definitely be back again. I gave it a four only due to being out of two items, but otherwise outstanding.

Once inside, the music was so loud it made it hard to have a normal conversation with my wife about our day. Not a great start for a weeknight dinner. Service was uneven. My wife's food came out in a reasonable time, but my order (spicy tuna roll and sashimi salad) was significantly delayed. Long enough that her meal was getting cold while we waited. There was no communication, no apology, and staff avoided eye contact during the delay. The restaurant didn't appear understaffed, so the holdup was unclear. Food quality was mixed. The sashimi salad was solid and fresh. However, the spicy tuna roll had a noticeable canned-fish smell, which wasn't what I'd expect from a quality sushi roll. My wife's fried rice had an overpowering burnt soy sauce flavor. Between the loud atmosphere, lack of communication from staff, and inconsistent food quality, this wasn't a great experience. We likely won't return, especially with more authentic sushi options that we've had consistently better experiences with. Update: A generic copy/paste apology. No explanation for why my meal was delayed while my wife's got cold. No acknowledgment of staff avoiding communication. No response to the food quality concerns (spicy tuna smelled canned, fried rice tasted burnt). Asking me to email privately doesn't address the public service and quality issues described. Accountability would mean explaining what happened and how it's being corrected; not redirecting the conversation offline.

The food was great- loved the rice & veggies they used. She made and awesome mocktail- I think it was like a pear blossom or something? Really tasty! My only complaint is their restroom door is tough... takes a lot to open/close and it closes quick on itself. It slammed on my finger when I was exiting the restroom to go back to the patio. My finger was legit sore/bent/bruised for a good 2 months.. If you're leaving the national park, this is a great spot to grab a bite. I think they just need to calibrate their doors a bit so they open and close with ease and not high pressure. So be careful!
