I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay again if I needed a hotel in this town…read more The staff was excellent. The woman at the front desk was very helpful and friendly, and everyone in the restaurant was also friendly. They accommodated my request for a particular room type even though I made a last minute reservation. The property is older and you can tell, and my room was a little dark, but it was comfortable and had a full size refrigerator, microwave and a La Z Boy chair. I honestly can't remember another hotel having one, and it was really nice to put my feet up after arriving. Parking was also convenient and close to the room. I enjoyed the complimentary happy hour drinks and ordered the fish and chips for about $17. They were tasty and cooked to order, although the fish seemed like a frozen, pre breaded product. The portion was small, with two pieces of fish, but the coleslaw was fresh and tasty. Considering the price and the two free drinks, I thought it was a good value. The bartender was very friendly. The breakfast was disappointing. The scrambled eggs were oily and the sausage was the mass produced type I don't care for. The sourdough toast was fine. I was glad breakfast was included because I would have sent it back if I had paid for it. The bistro coffee wasn't very good either, but the Keurig at the front desk was a better option. Overall, I had a quiet night and would stay here again. The property is older, but the friendly staff, convenient parking, room amenities and complimentary happy hour make it a good value.

And sadly I am wrong. Not only did we drive extra 25 minutes out to Lompoc. I paid the $56 early check in and when I walked into my suite and opened the toilet I was surprised to see pee and toilet paper. Disgusting. Whatever I flushed it and cleaned the toilet with my handy Clorox wipes. Unpacked, went downstairs told the front girl what happened to me and she did attempt to write down what I said but instantly picked up the phone and asked me a few questions as she was on the phone. This threw me off because I wasn't sure if she was randomly pretending to pickup the phone or was answering a call and not saying anything but mouthing stuff to me. The phone never rang, unless she saw a massive light underneath hidden where no one can see except for her and thought the call was more important than my issue. Went back to my room and noticed two more things that I was not happy about. The shower water was not working properly and the ac does not shutoff. Breakfast food was just ok. The lady making the omelettes forgot our orders. The complimentary drinks / snacks (cubed cheddar cheese, crackers, stale carrots, broccoli were ok. I genuinely don't understand how this place has "Inn & Suites" in the name because this room felt…read moremore like a survival challenge. The chair in the room was literally peeling apart. The hot tub was out of service. And the pool? Absolutely disgusting. It looked so dirty that getting into it felt less like swimming and more like volunteering for a medical experiment. I took one look at that water and decided my immune system had been through enough. Then there were the beds. Calling them "uncomfortable" is being generous. I could feel the springs, and one of them was actually sticking out enough to stab me. Nothing says relaxing hotel stay like being attacked by your own mattress. The AC control was missing buttons, so apparently controlling the temperature of your own room is considered a luxury here. The TV didn't work either, so after realizing I couldn't enjoy the pool, hot tub, bed, air conditioning, OR television, I started wondering what exactly I was paying for. At that point, the only amenity that worked consistently was disappointment. I wasn't expecting a five-star resort, but I was expecting the basic things in the room to actually function and the facilities to look sanitary. Instead, it felt neglected, outdated, and badly maintained. If your idea of a relaxing getaway includes dodging mattress springs, staring at a broken TV, sweating because you can't control the AC, and admiring a pool you're afraid to touch, then congratulations you've found your place. Would absolutely not stay here again.

Since I was staying with my child, I was worried someone could potentially step through it. I was also a little disappointed that the jacuzzi wasn't available during our stay. Additionally, the ice machine on our floor wasn't working, so we had to go up a couple of flights of stairs to use the one on another floor. Despite those issues, we still had a pleasant stay. I just hope these maintenance concerns are addressed for future guests.

Unfortunately, the condition of the room was far from what I expected. To start with the positives, both the evening and morning front desk associates were friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. However, that was where the good experience ended. The room itself was in very poor condition. The lampshades were visibly dirty, and one even appeared to have what looked like a speck of blood on it. There was a thick layer of dust--about an inch--on the back side of the TV, which made it clear that the room hadn't been properly cleaned in quite some time. One of the "clean" towels had visible skid marks on it, which was honestly shocking and unacceptable. It didn't stop there--there was mold above the door and also on the bathroom wall. Then, upon checking out in the morning, I noticed a tissue hanging from the ceiling in the shower. That was the final straw. I did inform the front desk associate when I checked out, but I'm still stunned at the overall state of the room. This goes beyond a simple oversight--it reflects a serious lack of upkeep and attention to cleanliness. I hope Red Roof Inn takes a closer look at this location and invests in the maintenance and sanitation it clearly needs. Guests should not have to question basic cleanliness when staying at a hotel.

There weren't any roaches, dirty towels or anything of that sort. Yes, it's located next to a Circle K and sometimes there are transients/addicts nearby. I was never bothered by any of them nor were any of the people in adjacent rooms (to my knowledge). I was gone during the day for work, so the room was really just a safe place to crash/shower/get ready. I had no problems whatsoever. I'll be booking there again in a few months and will give a 5th star if that visit matches the first. But all in all it was nice and served my needs.

We stayed at this one star motel....Boy were we pleasantly surprised…read more So first of all....its a one star hotel. We were nervous because we read all the bad reviews. We booked here anyway last minute due to unavailability elsewhere. Our options were this motel, a campsite with no toilet or sleeping in the car. Regardless we booked on a Sat for $150 total. We arrived in late evening and were greeted by Jacob who was friendly, pleasant and welcoming. Check in was quick and seamless. We arrived to a first floor double room. Because of covid we wiped down all the surfaces and to my very pleasant surprise the wipes were just as white after. I was calmed. There a were couple of aesthethic things...but whatever its a 1 star hotel! The dryer was gone, there was one missing art frame (the had art frames!!!) and there were three wall repairs that were visible... but they were fixed and while the pain didnt quite match, it was clear an effort was made (and would you paint an entire room just for the pain to match or fix it until you're able to do it if you were running a business???!!....... Exactly!). The bed was comfortable although too soft and likely needs to be flipped or rotated. I'm used to my tempur pedic . There was a bit of a slight smell to the room, but it was more like ciagrette than anything...if was mild but noticeable... if it's something that would bother you bring febreeze or an air freshener. We noticed it and forgot about it even though we are sensitive to "scents." The room came with a 32inch (?) TV with dish cable and were able to watch some of our favorite shows including the Golden Girls! Lol...(yes even my millennial generation loves the golden girls!). We ended up booking a 2nd night for half the price for a single queen room. Which had a single queen, a nice small table with two nice faux leather chairs, and a TV that in addition to DISH cable came with Roku..but Internet was slower than I'm used to (I'm used to the fastest). We had difficulty with getting to regular TV because the previous patrons disconnected the cable HDMI. We couldn't figure it out so we called the front desk and Jacob was there within 2 minutes (yes!! 2 minutes, I don't even get this at a 5 start hotel!), he quickly set it all back up for us and even quickly showed us how to use both cable and Roku controllers. What exceptional service!!! This was room had no missing art frames had less patron damage than the first and had upgraded mini fridge. Both rooms came equipped with microwave, iron and ironing board, hangers in an open closet, a mini fridge, free wifi, free cable, and free Roku (access to Netflix, Hulu, Showtime in the 2nd room!) AND I especially loved the recycling containers!!! Both nights we woke up rested, checkout was the easiest! Leave the key and lock the door. For this 1 star hotel, just 17 miles from Solvang, with friendly and fast service it deserves more than a 5 star review. I'm glad now I know Lompoc for more than Mossimo being in its federal prison for the college scandal....lol. We'll be coming back!
