Art Deco hotel!
Stayed in two different rooms here. The first room was up on the 4th floor, facing the major street that goes by. It's a hugely busy street, with buses, garbage trucks, police, ambulances, and all kinds of other loud automobiles roaring by at all hours. Every time a large car rumbles by, the entire hotel shakes. The room had no air conditioning, was rather spartan, and no screens over the window. Watch out after a long night of drinking tequila! The small fan in the room was nowhere near ample to keep things cool here. It was horrible.
The second room was much nicer- for an additional surcharge, you can upgrade to a room with an air conditioner! It had a large Jacuzzi, and a television. This room faced Calle Popocatapetl, which is a much less busy street, so things were quieter.
The lights all worked, and the TV had limited reception, with about a dozen channels. The sink and the toilet got clogged easily.
The staff at the hotel was on the ball- they were helpful and courteous. The prices were quite low. The internet was out much of the time, and when it worked, it was spotty and slow.
The hotel has a restaurant on site, and the place was clean. They take credit cards.
Hotel Roosevelt is located right next to a bus stop, but not too close to the subway. It's in a cool neighborhood, and there's lots of fun places to eat and drink nearby. read more
