Everyone who works here at this hotel at every level and position were great except at the end when they changed the city tax fee they charged my mom from $90 to $130 saying the person who helped my mom at the beginning "did it wrong". Would have gotten 5 stars from me but that shady bait and switch tactic the guy at reception did to my mom is bull. It is a beautiful old hotel with renovated rooms but that's it. Second day I was there they gave us rotten cold cut meats during breakfast and the breakfast manager tried to deny it. I told the chef and he corrected that problem immediately. The food was great especially when they took back the bad prosciutto I ordered and gave me a new one. They didn't give me nice but slices as the first time but it was still alright. The lunch manager took care of it and was very professional bringing out my food and water. read more

We have stayed here 3 times over the past seven years and I never knew that had rooms this small!!! OK, so the first two reservations were made directly through their site. This last one was through a 3rd party site. So take note of that. This room was about as far away from the elevator as you can get, past utility rooms, and a couple of staircases, near the end of a hallway. So yeah. The room was small, but in good condition and the bathroom looked recently renovated. Ceilings are high with heavy drapes and a chandelier. There was one small chair at the desk, a suitcase rack under the window, a fair amount of hangers and a safe in the closet. Bed linens are comfortable. The mattress is firm. Pillows were a bit flat for me. Two extra blankets are in the closet. Bath towels are large and absorbent. No face/wash clothes. Two each: hand towels and bidet towels. This bidet is a sitz bath style. Fill the basin, wash and pull up the stopper to empty. Great big soaking bath tub with both a shower and a hand held. Breakfast was included and plentiful. Juice and coffee from machines. Lots of breads and pastry. Yogurts, fresh fruit, cereals, eggs, meats, cold cuts, cheese, salad. You get the idea. The tables are set with quality flatware and napkins. There are a couple of public spaces to sit on the ground level. A small bar. A lovely courtyard with seating and some hallways and stairways have seating as well. Housekeeping is done daily and well. The room and bathroom clean. Staff are helpful, friendly and speak several languages. We didn't have a car so I am not sure if they offer parking. However, they are in the ZTL so everytime you drive in the area you must buy a ZTL pass or be fined. read more

Our family had a nice stay at Hotel Quirinale! Our two rooms were basic, not suites, and the bathroom was sizeable by European standards. Yes, there is not a lot of counter space in the bathroom, but again, it's Europe you're hard pressed to find a gigantic restroom like we have in the states. The courtyard was lovely! It was a wonderful respite from each day spent walking [we used a cab maybe twice during this trip, including visiting Florence], sightseeing, and putting up with the infinite number of aggressive street vendors. We enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast on the patio in the courtyard. This hotel is all about location! It's situated a very short distance from Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, and convenient to the train station. The bar, as advertised, is "cozy," and had delicious wine that we enjoyed in the courtyard. We had no language barrier issues with the staff who were helpful and courteous. Also, we found the rooms to be quiet, we didn't experience any street noise, subway noise, or "thin walls." Hotel Quirinale checked all the boxes of accommodations for our family! read more

Starting from the front door through to the rooms, Hotel Quirinale was amazing. We were greeted by friendly staff and a 14 foot tree decorated for Christmas. The dining room's food was so delicious that I had the Pasta Cabonara two nights in a row and almost a third night too. Our room was huge and very comfortable. Breakfast was almost too much food. The bar was very intimate. When I return to Rome, there is nowhere else I would stay but Hotel Quirinale and I have recommended them to all my friends and anyone who is going to Rome. read more

It was unfortunate that my friend had her purse stolen straight from the lobby. We were in a group of three and we took 10 steps away from our seats to take a picture and five seconds later when we came back, her purse had disappeared. We immediately notified the Front desk staff where they were extremely unhelpful and refused to call the police. They advised if we wanted to file a report we had to go to the police station. They were adamant about not calling the police. The only reason I figure is because they didn't want the negative publicity for their hotel. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed at their Behavior and lack of consideration for their guests. They were extremely uncaring and unhelpful. Because of their unhelpfulness and lack of any kind of empathy, I would never return to this hotel or recommend it at all. read more

We stayed one night at this hotel after a cruise. It is old so be prepared. We were upgraded to room 520 which faces the side street and is very large with a hall that separates the bathroom from the bedroom. The room has a king bed (memory foam) even though my daughter and I reserved two singles. We welcomed the space after being in a cruise cabin for weeks. The room was retrofitted with a modern door lock, AC that got cold, TV and tub/shower. Everything else was straight up 1940-50's. The fixtures were very old but functional. It was akin to staying at my great grandmother's house - old heavy wood furniture, heavy cast iron sink and toilet/bidet, old doors that have been painted over 20 times. Surprisingly, it did not have the old house smell. There are no black out curtains and the shutters are hard to close, so it is bright in the morning. You feel periodic rumbling from what I think was the subway. The free breakfast was average. Good juices, coffee out of a machine. Good selection of bread. They offered hot food - eggs, sausage, bacon. Had a giant nutella dispenser which was cool. We got to eat outside which was nice. The gym is tiny. There is no water dispenser anywhere so you need to purchase water at the bar or find a fountain outside. They have a modern elevator and an old metal cage elevator which was super sketchy - I refused to ride in it. You need to carry your bags up about 10 stairs to get to the modern elevator. read more

I absolutely loved Hotel Quirinale. Our room was in a back corner area and it was wonderfully quiet. The room was absolutely beautiful. Luckily, the bathroom was sectioned off in its own area and it was great with affording privacy for my friend and I. It's in a prime location and it was always easy to grab a taxi. The staff was very friendly and helped us easily check in and out. Whenever we had cleaning service, the room was left immaculate. If I were to ever return to Rome, I would have to stay here. The only thing that I didn't like was that they didn't have electronic safes and we had to use a key. read more

This place has BED BUGS!!! From the beginning of this stay I was upset. Starting off with the fact that when I mentioned our available upgrade through the Expedia VIP gold package the employee was lazy to check and see for another room. The WORST problem was the bed bugs. Starting the first night I woke up with bites on me. My husband and I mentioned the blood droplets on sheets and bites on legs and they offered to have the bedding changed out so we agreed. The next two following nights more and more bites to the point of not being able to sleep and choosing to sleep on the bathroom floor. Finally my husband was fed up and demanded a room change which they did quickly. The room happened to be an upgrade (supposedly they didn't have any before) and they used that as an excuse to not do complementary laundry service for us. We were concerned about our items that had been on the bed would be contaminated. A woman named RITA was who told us this. She was very rude and condescending. After bedbugs washing laundry is critical and they said they checked the room and didn't see bugs. We later found out that room immediately went to another customer who will then be pestered by the bed bugs like we were. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. read more

My favorite part of this hotel was the elevator. The staff was nice and friendly. I only stayed here for a night. It was our last night in Rome. We arrived from Florence and walked to our hotel from the train station was about a 10-12 minute walk. It wasn't too bad for us. Once we arrived we got situated into our room immediately, the bellhop gentleman was kind enought to walk us to our room and help us with our luggage. Right away we noticed the old style elevator. It was facinating for us. Loved that feel of historic and modern touch of the hotel. Overall it was a very clean and neat hotel, the breakfast was ok, I can't complain much, coffee was delicious. The room was great, The ladies that took care of our room was great. The restaurant & bar Sucked. The service to people staying at the Hotel was terrible, twice during our stay they were only concerned with wedding dinner arrangements. The person that was the most rude was the Food & Beverage Manager, Zero concern to any of us. In an attempt to complain to his service we found out that he was in charge of the entire Hotel at the time. In an attempt to discuss this with the front desk, they were rude. I understand why they only get 3.6 stars on Yelp. The GM needs to fix this. read more

I was robbed at the entrance of the hotel with an employee of the hotel standing next to me with my luggage cart. None of the employees of the hotel cared , even the manager. They have security cameras but would not show me because of "privacy "!? I guess the robbers privacy?!? The hotel is old and dirty. The breakfast room is dirty with food all over the counter and floor. (I have photos). The coffee comes from a machine that you have to stand in a long line. Hopefully it has what you want when you get to the front. The shower spills water all over the bathroom floor. The tv had "no signal" message halfway through my movie. Location: The Quirinale Hotel was located ideally near most of the major attractions that were on our list----The Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Colliseum, and the Vatican. It is located within walking distance to the train station, which made it easy since we rode the train from the airport. Staff: The staff were very accommodating, nice and bilingual. Cleanliness: The hotel was very clean. This is an older, restored hotel. I would have loved to learn more about the history of the location. Also, had an old cage elevator that was still functioning. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The bed was actually two twin beds pushed up against one another to make a king and not the most comfortable but after a day of walking and sightseeing, they were fine. We had some issues with the temperature control in the room but was able to open the windows to cool it down. Amenities: There was a restaurant onsite but we didn't visit that. We did have the free continental breakfast but was not impressed with that at all, in fact, one of the worst that we had on our trip. This would be a great hotel to offer spa services as well but was unaware of any offerings during our stay there. The bellmen and front office team were always nice and very helpful. Stayed here 14 days during my trip to Rome and I was very pleased with my stay and very sad to leave. Free wifi, free breakfast and the rooms Were nice and clean! My only complaint is the noisy fruit stand guy. The dude never sleeps and likes to chop coconuts every night between 1:30-2:00 am lol my room window was right above the fruit stand downstairs so it was difficult to sleep with that window open BUT! They have noise proof Windows so that's a plus for the hotel haha. I stayed in room 119 and it was lovely! I loved my view of the street and beds were super comfy. Will be staying here on all of my future trips to Rome! No bed bugs, and breakfast was delicious! read more

Worst Hotel I've ever stayed at. 1.) Most uncomfortable beds/pillows ever slept on. 2.) Dirty rooms and beyond obnoxious staff (in particular the guy with the black hair). Its almost laughable at how rude the staff was. Sometimes all you can do is just smile at situations like this. 3.) We had an item worth $50 stolen from our room and ' super strangely ' items moved around including my shaving cream in the bathroom was found in my fiances suitcase. We stayed here twice during our trip to Italy, once on our first night and again on our last. We traveled to other parts of the country in between. Our main reason for choosing this hotel was its proximity to the train station. It's a close and easy walk (about 8 mins). From the main train station, you can easily get to the airport or other parts of Italy. They will hold your bags if you get there early or have more time to see the city after you check out. The check-in/out process was very smooth. You can also easily walk to the main attractions (Colosseo, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Bone Church, etc). There are lots of dinner options are a short walk away. If you want something a bit less touristy you might need to walk a bit further but we got to everything we wanted to see within a 20-minute walking radius of the hotel. The complimentary breakfast is great. They have a huge selection of grab and go options as well as hot food. There are multiple kinds/flavors of everything (juice, croissants, eggs, fruit) and a great coffee machine where you can make your own espresso drinks. There are tons of tables, I loved sitting on the porch overlooking the courtyard area. Our room was small, we booked the smallest/cheapest one, but it was plenty of room for our short stay. On our second stay there, a week later, they upgraded us to a standard room and it was quite a bit nicer. I loved the rain shower head in both rooms and it's a very nice touch that they give you complimentary bottled water. In our second room, the bathroom door wouldn't quite latch and the internet was a tad spotty and would drop out every once in a while. But our trip was short and neither thing bothered us much. Overall we had a really great stay and would happily book here again on our next trip to Rome! read more

This beautiful hotel is centrally located and perfect with metro stop nearby and only 10 minutes walk to Termini Station. Upon arrival we were upgrade to a triple room, at no charge. Breakfast included was amazing and their restaurant is excellent and opened until 22:30. When I return to Rome, it's where I will stay. I can't recommend highly enough. Had pretty good experience here. We arrived at the hotel about an hour before check-in so we relaxed in the waiting area (if that's what you call it) - a beautiful room with chairs, tables, tapestries, artwork... just lovely. Finally got in the room and it was clean but the 2 beds were a bit small and were pushed together. Not a problem for me and my mom - we just separated them and kept it moving. The bathroom was a bit strange - just the location of the shower head was weird... it was in the middle instead of at one of the ends. Having a bidet was very interesting - first time trying that...LOL Room had hairdryer, hot pot, TV, wi-fi, a nice view of the street (windows actually opened). Only real problem for me that the room was cold! We were there from Oct 17 - 23 and were told the heat doesn't come on until the end of the month and there are extra blankets in the drawers. Unfortunately I came back to the US with a nasty cold and cough. The courtyard is so beautiful with all different types of trees and old Roman statues around the perimeter. I really enjoyed dinner and dessert in the the restaurant and drinks at the bar - the staff was friendly and our bartenders, GiGi and Nassre were awesome! The breakfast was not bad - although I've never had scrambled egg yolks before... They also had various meats, pastries, cereals, juices, espresso, and "American Coffee" - which is really Nescafe! The front desk staff is very accommodating and are willing to help you in any way. All in all, the hotel is beautiful with a lot of nice artwork and has an old feel to it. It is also close to some of the more popular attractions - and the 'hop-on / hop-off' bus stop is right down the street. I had a nice stay here. read more

It's our last night here and I'm sad to go! We have a 4 person suite with 1 bedroom, 1 large living room w 2 queen beds. Worth every penny. Robes, slippers, huge bathtub to soak our aching feet! I love the chandeliers and charming Rome feel here. The garden is very sweet and the room attached to the lobby a wonderful place to relax with a glass of wine. Kids and I actually Brought lunch in there the 1st day (as we were early to check in) and the staff gave us no problem. Breakfast buffet is great. 5 stars for the bell hops, lady at the front desk tonight (3/22) who helped me with all my train questions, and to the bartender. Turn left and down a few doors for The "Wonderful" gelato place. Best flavors and prices we found in Rome :) Everything is easily accessible from here! read more

Every hotel you stay in is a bit different. My wife and I usually are pretty easy to please, honestly. Give us some wifi, a comfy clean bed and we're cool. So when we walked the halls towards our room at Hotel Quirnale and noticed carpet coming up and paint peeling from the walls, we didn't mind too much. Unfortunately that was just the beginning. The must haves which were the wifi was advertised as "free". Right. They mean to tell you the first 1mb is free which is equivalent to checking Facebook once then they charge you per MB! Not even a freakin unlimited plan. God knows when you're traveling internationally, wifi is a savior and these guys have the freakin nerve to upcharge you for wifi. It's laughably bad. Contrast that with two other places we stayed at, one being a Holiday Inn, was free unlimited. Sad I even need to preface it by saying free. The beds? Simply put, meh. Hard beds with two small pillows per person. Definitely was hoping for something more comfortable and was met with something far less than great. I could nickpick with things like the people at the front desk being jerks, the complimentary breakfast being pretty sketchy at best, and the walls being paper thin to the point where we could hear, um, activities going on. Those things are kinda whatever to my and wife and I but I can imagine others being pissed about it, so figured I'd add it in. Our experience in Rome was so rad and this was the one dark spot on it, unfortunately. read more

Complete garbage! First of all, all employees are terribly rude and don't even try to be nice. The rooms are old and smell like mold. The shower only has two possible temperatures - freezing cold or steaming hot. The breakfast is ok (wich is terrible for its price). And that's not even the worst part of the hotel. On the day we checked-in, as we went out for dinner, someone (most likely an employee) got inside our room and stole all of our money, and I mean all of it, they didn't spare even the coins. The hotel didn't take any action, not even checking the security cameras because, apperently, they cannot see the footage of their own cameras. All they did was telling me to go to the police and pretended they cared about it. After that, they only waited for us to leave. The only positive aspect of the hotel is the location, but by any means it is worthy staying there. If you enjoy having all of your money taken, and interacting to a staff that makes you feel like you should't be there, this is the perfect place! read more

I'm sorry to hear about the bad stays had here. That was not my experience at all! The front desk staff was polite and helpful and the room was quite comfortable. The breakfast, served in the garden, was TO DIE FOR. The second day they were doing some work in the garden during breakfast. I admit, the timing was poor, but not a big deal. The location was perfect. Close to the Republica Metropolitana station and a quick 5-8 minute walk to Termini. It was a hell of a lot easier to drag my suitcases there than to deal with the Subway. read more

I stayed here for a long weekend from the 17th to 20th of March this year. This was no ordinary weekend however. This was the weekend I decided to propose to my girlfriend of five years. From the day of booking I had emails from the Hotel staff asking if I had any special requests. Everything from the types of Pillows to any drinks or food I wanted to be waiting in the room on arrival. I made them aware of my plans to propose at the Trevi Fountain and that I would like the check in to run as smoothly as possible. Despite arriving at the hotel at close to 10pm everything ran smoothly and the service was excellent. After dropping out bags in the room and receiving directions to the Trevi Fountain from the Hotel staff we set off for the most memorable night of my life. Hotel Quirinale is located anywhere between 10-15 minutes on foot from landmarks such as the Trevi Fountain and The Colosseum. It is situated on a street that provides Food,, shopping and even a few Irish bars if you fancy it. The overall look of the Hotel is lovely. The decor has a slightly older feeling to it but looks classy and adds to the overall historical feeling of the establishment. The rooms were comfortable and the temperature was perfectly fine without having to adjust the air conditioning. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very welcoming and helpful in the morning. On the last day in Rome we decided to stay at the hotel for dinner. I strongly recommend the Carbonara. It was delicious. I will most definitely return to Hotel Quirinale. Thank you so much to the staff for making it the special weekend that it was. read more

The staff went out of their way to help me with every request I made of them. Booked my tours for me, got me a car to the airport, even had boxed breakfasts for me when my tour to Pompeii was earlier than their breakfast service. The breakfast buffet is well stocked with two types of eggs and ham and bacon and sausages. More than just a continental breakfast. Huge showers in the bathroom which is not common in Europe. Most places I stayed had tiny showers but this one was massive compared to others. Beautiful old building that is extremely well maintained in a great location at the center of everything. We stayed here November 2018, found this place to be very pleasant, very clean, reasonable rate and very good buffet breakfast which is included in our stay. Close to a lot of interesting places like the coliseum, Trevi fountain, etc. Very interesting decor, reminds me of those James Bond movies especially the old elevator with the sliding steel doors you have to check this place out. As another review stated, the hotel has character but.... that doesn't make up for the other issues we had. The bathrooms had zero vanity space and the showers were haphazardly setup. Two people in our party actually slipped and fell. The "gym" consists of a treadmill and broken all-purpose weight machine. The wait staff for the outdoor bar/restaurant area wasn't very good. Hotel Review: We've stayed at the Hotel Quirinale twice in the last 3 years and we'll be back. It has the look and feel of a 5-star hotel but I'd say it's closer to 4-star but that's fantastic for the price we paid. We booked 6 months ahead via booking.com and got a triple for less than half the rate they were going for a month out. Rooms are European big, comfortable and spotless. The free wifi was the best we had on our whole Italian trip. They have lifts. They have good air conditioning which was life saving during the week we were there in July. Check-in and check-out was a pleasure with no unreasonable surprise fees or hassle. We love the location because it's close to Termini (10 minute walk, 15 with luggage) and hiking distance to many of the sites. The Vatican is a fairly quick Metro ride from the station just down the street. Lots of good restaurants in the area to choose from and: Rossinni Restaurant Review (I couldn't find a separate entry for it): The garden restaurant is one of the many reasons we've returned. The menu has plenty of variety, the service is always top notch and the garden itself is beautiful. A welcome respite from the hustle found just outside in Rome. If you stay here, breakfast is included and they lay out a nice spread with Italian faves (cold cuts, rolls, an impressive self-serve cappuccino machine) as well as some English and American fare, scrambled eggs, sausage etc). I believe they are open all day and late into the evening. We enjoyed spritzes and small plates on a couple of afternoons, and dinner. Food is really good but just a tiny bit pricey for what you get. Next time we go to Rome, we'll return. read more

This hotel has bed bugs in 3 rooms with 3 beds that I had stayed after finding bed bugs in the first room. The rooms I stayed in were: #423(4th floor) and #237(2nd floor). I found bed bugs after I woke up in the morning in both rooms. Then, my husband stayed in a separate room with his brother #403 and also found blood spot in his bed sheet in the morning from fresh bites. Likely the whole hotel is infested! When I informed the front reception desk, they had told me that they will move me into new room and lock down room #423. They arranged to move me to new room #237. When I came back from a whole day excursion, I found out that I forgot a roll of bags that I packed in the earlier room, so I called the front desk to be told that there's already a guest staying there and they would send up hotel bags! That's how this hotel take care of their problem, turning the other way. What happened to the so called "lock down"??? I stayed here for four days with my fiancée and, well, we had an adequate time, but the Hotel Quirinale didn't exactly have me breakdancing in joy. Here are the highlights: PROS - The location was very nice. Close to the metro, near lots of action and hubbub. - The room was clean and large, the bathroom was also bigger than I expected. CONS - The wifi situation is terrible. I spend a lot of time online (despite being on vacation), and the Hotel Quirinale deserves coal in its stocking for having such a lousy connection. Not only is it slow (if it works at all), but you have to ask for a separate username and password for each device that will be connected to the internet. For us that meant 3 codes (my phone, her phone, my laptop). Not only that, you have to re-enter the codes each time you use your device. So if you set your phone down to open the window, you have to enter the user/pass again to get online when you pick your phone up again. Maddening. - The breakfast eggs were kinda scary. I don't know if they were real eggs. It was a little gross, so I switched to bread-only after the first few days. - Why was it so hot? It was hot in the rooms, hotter in the bathroom, and hottest in the lobby. We stayed there in December. Cool and rainy outside, hot and hot and hot inside. - Staff was kinda rude. They tried to charge us for some mini bar stuff we didn't consume. We disputed it, and they asked repeatedly if we were absolutely sure we didn't take something from the mini bar. Because, well, "it would just be so much more convenient if we had." Ugh. Not cool. SUMMARY It's an okay place to stay if you don't like food or the internet. read more
