I don't speak Spanish aside from colors, numbers up to ten and basic I, you, they plus verb and object sentences. It would probably suit me better to speak Catalan, though, as that is the default language here in Catalonia. I don't think I will be learning anymore languages quite yet. Anyway, they speak English here. I would be in quite the predicament if not. Normal people barely speak English, but sectors with tourism always have people speaking English. ;)
The hotel is nice. The staff is accommodating thus far. I am always greeted with champagne. I absolutely love the bathrooms here. Modern and sleek. They have a great restaurant. The lobby is inviting. It's the perfect place to chill or get work done if you don't want to sit in the confines of your room. The location is superb! Loads of places to eat, drink and shop. Close to public transport as well. Buses are just up the street and the FGC train, as well as the subway, are less than two blocks away at Provença station. Avinguda Diagonal and Passeig de Gràcia , the best shopping streets, are within walking distance.
The only issue I have ever had was with parking. I had paid for parking at the hotel, but once I checked in, they didn't have available spots. I had to park in a public lot. This is an issue because most public lots are teeny tiny. I have a huge car. Think fullsize SUV trying to fit in a smart car-sized spot. I'm always having to take up two or more spots. I don't do it because I'm one of those jerks who parks crooked in multiple spots to not get door dings. It's just my car is wide and long. Even in the garage I rent monthly, they have had to give me four spots to park in.
Onto rooms, they are super clean and comfortable. I have had the best sleep in the beds here. I love that I can put on the robe and slippers to just chill. The sitting area is just as comfy as the bed. The shampoo and body wash provided are delicious smelling, so if you forget your own shampoo and body wash, you don't have to worry.
I will always stay here when in Barcelona. You should too! read more
