The rose garden was beautiful, and there are sculptures, statues, and interesting architecture throughout the property. The overlooks were probably our favorite part. The views are incredible and some of the best we saw in Ravello. We also stopped at the café and had a Coke and a lemonade, which were perfect on a sunny and hot day. It was a nice place to sit for a little while and enjoy the surroundings. It also was not too crowded with tourists when we were there, which made walking around much more enjoyable. Overall, Villa Cimbrone is a beautiful, peaceful place with amazing views and gardens. Definitely worth visiting if you are in Ravello.

We went up to Ravello for the day and decided…read moreto check out the gardens at Villa Cimbrone, and it was hands down one of the highlights of our whole trip. The views from up there are absolutely insane, but nothing beats the Infinity Terrace (Terrazza dell'Infinito). Standing at the edge looking out over the cliffs and the ocean literally takes your breath away. It feels like you're standing at the edge of the world. While we were walking around the gardens, we actually got to witness a wedding happening on the grounds. Talk about the ultimate dream venue. it looked straight out of a movie.

A truly wonderful place to hold a wedding reception for the daughter. We had a small intimate…read morewedding celebration, 36 adult guests in total - immediate family and friends. Highly recommended - Service was excellent- waiters were very attentive and unobtrusive. Very much what to expect for what I can only describe as old fashioned. It's the kind of place with a head waiter dressed in a tuxedo suit. Very well organized - each course served by several waiters so no one was waiting. It was timed it so that you could eat leisurely and have time to breathe between courses. Food was very well prepared. hors d'oeuvres for reception on the grassy and tree lined terrace included multiple delicious classic pairings : cream with dollop of caviar or smoked salmon bites on toast, assorted battered seafood and cheesy bites, baked tiny pizzas and bruschetta ( no pictures - busy with photos of family and bride and groom.) Venue for actual dinner was so beautifully setup and decorated . We were outdoors and they had it prepared for rainy weather and boy, that thunderstorm sounded like a fireworks show to cap the night. Live music and soloist during dinner was great and so was the DJ for dancing after ( not part of venue). There is a second floor for guests to go to to rest and it was quiet enough for the 2 babies to fall asleep. Here's a reminder- the towns along the Amalfi coast are all really on a mountain - a lot of winding roads to get to places . Keep your legs and knees in shape- expect a lot of stair climbing and walking from main roads. And it's a pasta lovers' dream - you can't really low carb here. The stair climbing and walking is great to work off some of the Carbs. Weather changes often- for this day we started with overcast skies that gave way to sunshine during the ceremony then a real rainy and loud thunderstorm which cleared as we ended. So do come prepared. Bonus: there was a church along the way that you can visit if you have time.

This simple yet imposing structure dominates Piazza Vescovado, the main town square in Ravello…read more With its origins dating back to the 11th century, its style mixes Romanesque and Baroque, though its current minimalist facade is a result of restoration in 1931. Dedicated to St. Pantaleone, the patron saint of physicians and midwives, martyred in the 4th century, he is also the patron saint of Ravello. The construction of this duomo was ordered by Orso Papice, the first bishop of Ravello, supported by the Rufolo family, a wealthy merchant household that also built the nearby Villa Rufolo (see my separate review for that!). The church is known for containing a relic from the saint, a vial of his blood that supposedly liquefies annually on his feast day July 27. Another notable feature are its ornate bronze doors, dating back to 1179. The bell tower of this church dates to the 13th century, I didn't climb up since it was close to closing when I visited, though I imagine the views are stellar. A small church museum is accessible via a side entrance, holds a notable marble bust believed to be Sigilgaida Rufolo, the wife of Nicola Rufolo, the 13th-century merchant who commissioned the cathedral's pulpit. Detractors maintain the sculpture depicts the Madonna or Joanna, Queen of Naples in the 14th century. For more info: https://www.ravello.com/attractions/duomo/

The grounds have some amazing views, beautiful gardens, and really interesting old architecture. A lot of it feels almost like very well-maintained ruins, which gives the whole place a lot of character. You can also climb up the tower for some great views over Ravello and the surrounding coastline. Inside, there are a number of art exhibits, including music-related installations, projections, and some other pretty unusual modern art. Some of it was a little weird for my taste, but it was still interesting to walk through, and there is plenty of history throughout the property as well. The gardens were probably my favorite part. Everything was very well kept, and there are some beautiful overlooks throughout the grounds. There were definitely plenty of tourists around, but it never felt overwhelmingly crowded when we visited. They were also setting up for the summer music and symphony events, which looked like it would be an incredible setting for a concert. Overall, Villa Rufolo is definitely worth visiting while in Ravello. Beautiful views, gardens, architecture, and plenty to explore right in the center of town.

The restaurant and bar are situated right on the lip of Ravello before entering the main town square. The bar is on a higher level than the restaurant so you'll need to walk down more stairs to get to the actual restaurant. However, both venues offer some of the best views of the coast that you'll see on your trek across the south of Italy. Make sure you take advantage of sitting out on their terrace. Imagine the most scenic and picturesque views of the mountain-side and the seemingly endless blue ocean. All of this with the crisp sea air breeze gently brushing by. All that said, I might just come back here for the view alone! The highlight is definitely the enchanting view and you should come here first for that but the food is a very close second! We ordered the mixed seafood spaghetti (18 euros) and it was more than advertised. You'll get a very large plate of spaghetti noodles topped with fresh prawns, lobster, shellfish and more. Sprinkle it with the lemon and mix it in the light broth and you'll be in seafood heaven! We also had the seafood salad (13 euros) which was light, refreshing, and crisp to bite. Plus it had healthy amounts of seafood as well including calamari. Mineral water was 2.50 euros. There is also a cover charge of 2.50 per person included in the bill. What really surprised me was the price of the meal. Easily one of the most reasonable deals for all the seafood you get. I had expected to fork over plenty of euros but in the end it was cheaper than seafood restaurants we had in Sorrento or elsewhere. Plus you get that amazing view. You can tell the tourists love Albergo Garden and many just lounge away soaking up the view. I had to take off one star just because the service was very slow and not as attentive and a bit brusque. Other than that slight hiccup, I was impressed. Usually tourist spots really suffer in terms of quality of food but Albergo Garden was both good food and a great view.
