    Michelin star

Absolutely breathtaking. Had the opportunity to spend 2 days at the villa for a weekend and it was incredible. The grounds and the garden are amazing and you absolutely must check out the infinity patio. The view it out of this world. Oh and the restaurant got a Michelin star in 2025 so of course the food is out of this world!

We partook in an all-day tour of the Amalfi Coast (which felt even longer, lemme tell ya!) and at the last stop, at the very last 'tip' of Ravello - this magnificent 'compound' and with time to kill we paid the euros and walked and explored and were just blown away by the property. One guy owned all of this back in the day?! Sheesh. (You think in the year 2450 people will be paying to walk around Bezos' various properties with a similar awe and wonder?) One stunning tract of land/garden after the next... and then the 'Terrace of Infinity' (which was not hyperbole). We skipped the restaurant and continued to use the map to find all the artwork and notable structures listed. A great (unexpected) detour and just one more reason to be amazed by what's here in Italy.

This is a really cool place. The gardens and hotel are wonderful. But the restaurant is absolutely stunning with tremendous food.

For 10eu, you can experience spectacular views in a beautiful garden setting. The pics from this location were so worth it. We visited in May so many of the flowers were not in bloom, however, the statues, trellises, buildings, and greenery were equally beautiful. There are many things to enjoy in a garden year round. Ravello is a lovely little town so after the garden, check out some shops and stop for a cappuccino.

This was the most beautiful villa and gardens we visited. Breath taking views from here! Now, this was quite the hike to get to but totally worth it. It was about 15 minute walk or so from the city center of Ravello. There are 2 main Villas, this one and Rufolo which is in the city center. I quite liked Cimbrone over Rufolo! On the walk to this villa you will pass an excellent restaurant with the most amazing pizza called Mimi, stop there. After you eat your pizza continue walking to find Villa Cimbrone! You are greeted by lush lemon trees and a vine covered building. Entering the gardens, they are quite expansive. Lots of areas to explore, as everything is very open. So many places to take cool pictures! If you walk down the stairs a bit, you will get to a really cool scenic overlook where you can see the surrounding towns and all the way to the ocean. Continue walking around and you will find a little restaurant where you can dine in the gardens! So relaxing!! We just popped in for some fresh lemon slush to cool us off on that hot day! Totally worth the walk and we were able to visit both gardens within a couple hours. Come see Villa Cimbrone if you are in Ravello!!

Amazing hotel, amazing views, amazing garden, and amazing drinks. If you are a hotel guest and are lucky enough to have Lucas as your bartender, take the time to watch him ply his trade

Hmmmmm to be very honest I'm kind of disappointed because this place is a Michelin star place and I had very high expectations of it. A friend of ours recommended this place while we were on our trip and I looked up this restaurant and the whole place and I was counting down the moments until I got to see it in person. I'm giving it a three star because the hotel and the whole place is absolutely stunning and heavenly that I can't even describe it in words. The garden and the restaurant are beautifully designed you will feel like you are walking in a little heaven on earth. The staff were one of the friendliest staff I had seen before, they immediately sat us down at a really nice table on the terrace with a breathtaking view. Now let's talk about why I'm giving it a three star. Again as a Michelin star restaurant I had very high expectations of the food. I ordered a pasta dish and of course why not I am in Italy. My pasta had absolutely no taste I had to add so much salt and pepper to it to be able to eat it. I know a lot of pasta dishes in Italy are Al Dente but this was AL DENTE DENTE like plasticky feeling. It was so hard to bite each piece. We were there with another couple so the four of us order a different dishes but my friend also ordered the same exact thing as mine. It was time to get the desert and we ordered two dessert for the whole table. I couldn't hold it in anymore so I asked everyone how they felt about their food and everyone just said how unhappy they were with the taste of the food. My friend said that her pasta was extremely tasteless and she also said the same thing about the pasta feeling very plasticky. We asked the guys and both of them Felt unhappy with their food. The dessert was OK I would give it a 4/10 but the food definitely 2/10 not even a 2 maybe. So sad. Hmmm very disappointing

Villa Cimbrone is one of the most beautiful settings I've ever been to on this planet. It's a bit of a walk through town to get to, but the architecture, gardens and views, especially from the Terrace of Infinity, are one of a kind. I would love to return someday and actually stay at their hotel

We ate lunch at Mediterraneo which we found to be excellent in terms of food, service, availability of reservations and beauty of surroundings. Had the best eggplant parmesan, lemon risotto, and a few other dishes recommended by our lovely waitress. Wish we had space for the delish desserts we saw...we'll try those next time. One of our best meals on our trip to Italy. I know that they have a fancy restaurant Fluto de Pan which is available in the evening but if you want to do something less fancy and with fresh local ingredients this is the place to go! An excellent way to spend a very hot afternoon eating under a cool shade on the balcony overlooking some of the most jaw dropping views of Amalfi. Go here, and afterwards walk in the gardens and see some of the most iconic views of Ravello captured for decades on film. Go here you won't be disappointed!

This review is for the Gardens at Villa Cimbrone which are stunning and a lovely way to spend a day outside enjoying the beautiful views. I did this as a day trip from Positano and the views along the way are almost as stunning as the gardens. Know before you go that there are a ton of stairs and climbing so this is not for anyone who has difficulty walking. But if you can do the walking and stair climbing, it is definitely worth it. You are dropped or can park in the town area where the plaza hosts plenty of places to eat, drink, shop or just sit and enjoy the people watching. Follow the signs and walk a ways and you will find yourself at the Garden of Villa Cimbrone. Used for weddings, and other special events, the grounds are simply gorgeous no matter what time of the year you go. They are a great example of English gardens in the mediterranean! And if you follow the map you will eventually end of at the "Terrace of Infinity" which is spectacular with it's views of the sea. The map that they give you will walk you thorough 12 different points in the garden. There is an entrance fee to get in but it is nominal. And if you need a restroom-they are located at the entrance so you may want to pop in there before heading out. A beautiful way to enjoy the Amalfi Coast!

Highly recommended - Service was excellent- waiters were very attentive and unobtrusive. Very much what to expect for what I can only describe as old fashioned. It's the kind of place with a head waiter dressed in a tuxedo suit. Very well organized - each course served by several waiters so no one was waiting. It was timed it so that you could eat leisurely and have time to breathe between courses. Food was very well prepared. hors d'oeuvres for reception on the grassy and tree lined terrace included multiple delicious classic pairings : cream with dollop of caviar or smoked salmon bites on toast, assorted battered seafood and cheesy bites, baked tiny pizzas and bruschetta ( no pictures - busy with photos of family and bride and groom.) Venue for actual dinner was so beautifully setup and decorated . We were outdoors and they had it prepared for rainy weather and boy, that thunderstorm sounded like a fireworks show to cap the night. Live music and soloist during dinner was great and so was the DJ for dancing after ( not part of venue). There is a second floor for guests to go to to rest and it was quiet enough for the 2 babies to fall asleep. Here's a reminder- the towns along the Amalfi coast are all really on a mountain - a lot of winding roads to get to places . Keep your legs and knees in shape- expect a lot of stair climbing and walking from main roads. And it's a pasta lovers' dream - you can't really low carb here. The stair climbing and walking is great to work off some of the Carbs. Weather changes often- for this day we started with overcast skies that gave way to sunshine during the ceremony then a real rainy and loud thunderstorm which cleared as we ended. So do come prepared. Bonus: there was a church along the way that you can visit if you have time.

Dedicated to St. Pantaleone, the patron saint of physicians and midwives, martyred in the 4th century, he is also the patron saint of Ravello. The construction of this duomo was ordered by Orso Papice, the first bishop of Ravello, supported by the Rufolo family, a wealthy merchant household that also built the nearby Villa Rufolo (see my separate review for that!). The church is known for containing a relic from the saint, a vial of his blood that supposedly liquefies annually on his feast day July 27. Another notable feature are its ornate bronze doors, dating back to 1179. The bell tower of this church dates to the 13th century, I didn't climb up since it was close to closing when I visited, though I imagine the views are stellar. A small church museum is accessible via a side entrance, holds a notable marble bust believed to be Sigilgaida Rufolo, the wife of Nicola Rufolo, the 13th-century merchant who commissioned the cathedral's pulpit. Detractors maintain the sculpture depicts the Madonna or Joanna, Queen of Naples in the 14th century. For more info: https://www.ravello.com/attractions/duomo/

In Ravello, there are two better-known villas touting scenic eye candy worth checking out (with many other more or lesser known viewpoints)--Villa Cimbrione and Villa Rufolo. The latter takes its name from the wealthy merchant family that built this domicile in the 13th century. In the 14th century, banquets were hosted here for King Robert II of Naples and other Norman royalty. It was even written up in a story by Italian Renaissance author Boccaccio in "Decameron," published in 1353. In 1851, Sir Francis Neville Reid, a Scottish botanist and philanthropist, visited the villa in a state of deterioration and neglect, purchased it and renovated what was remaining of the property and gardens. Famously German composer Richard Wagner visited in 1880 and was so inspired he remained in Ravello to complete the second act of "Parsifal," an opera that had been in work for two decades. Today this villa is a historic landmark and cultural center, hosting musical concerts, open to the public for €8 regular admission, €6 discounted, tickets available at the entrance. There is a Moorish-inspired smaller tower and a taller bell tower from which you can climb to the roof to take in the views from behind a glass barrier.* The staircase inside this bell tower stands out in its criss-crossing design for stairs going up and down--reminiscent of MC Escher's lithographs showing impossible perspectives. From terraces and gardens outdoors behind the villa you can also catch sight of the hillside and coastline. While I was there in April, the gardens were in transition, they had various signs posted that apologized for the bare appearance due to recent storms. To me they still looked nice and I appreciated that they were so conscientious with upkeep! Wandering around you can spend anywhere from 30 min to 1.5 hours here. Imagine the most scenic and picturesque views of the mountain-side and the seemingly endless blue ocean. All of this with the crisp sea air breeze gently brushing by. All that said, I might just come back here for the view alone! The highlight is definitely the enchanting view and you should come here first for that but the food is a very close second! We ordered the mixed seafood spaghetti (18 euros) and it was more than advertised. You'll get a very large plate of spaghetti noodles topped with fresh prawns, lobster, shellfish and more. Sprinkle it with the lemon and mix it in the light broth and you'll be in seafood heaven! We also had the seafood salad (13 euros) which was light, refreshing, and crisp to bite. Plus it had healthy amounts of seafood as well including calamari. Mineral water was 2.50 euros. There is also a cover charge of 2.50 per person included in the bill. What really surprised me was the price of the meal. Easily one of the most reasonable deals for all the seafood you get. I had expected to fork over plenty of euros but in the end it was cheaper than seafood restaurants we had in Sorrento or elsewhere. Plus you get that amazing view. You can tell the tourists love Albergo Garden and many just lounge away soaking up the view. I had to take off one star just because the service was very slow and not as attentive and a bit brusque. Other than that slight hiccup, I was impressed. Usually tourist spots really suffer in terms of quality of food but Albergo Garden was both good food and a great view.
