This hotel was very convenient to the train station/terminal. 6 minute walk or so. To get to other locations in come such as the city center I recommend to taxi or metro as the walk is a bit far. The room was nice and cozy. The bathroom had all amenities. Shower was a bit small. Bed was comfy and overall the room was very clean!! My only complaint it was a bit hot. They had a small AC unit in the room which blew cool air, not very cold. There was one central AC vent by the bathroom but didn't help keep the room cool. Staff was so friendly and personal at the front desk!! We didn't try breakfast because we woke up early to go into the city. Overall a good stay! read more

Our flight was cancelled and unfortunately the hotel where we were staying was booked to capacity. We were referred to Hotel Diocleziano since they had one spare room. We were given a very reasonable rate. Accomodations includes breakfast also. Hotel policy is that guests leave their keys at the front desk when departing and they can be collected upon your return to the hotel. The hotel is located approximately five minutes walk from Termini Station. The neighborhood leaves a bit to be desired. There are a few restaurants and souvenir shops around, but not as much as you might prefer. More can be found closer to the train station and neighboring streets. The room that we were given was a handicap accessible room. It was one floor up and had a private patio. The room was huge and the bathroom was almost as big as the room. The patio was amazing. The bed was comfortable too. My only complaint was that there was a slight chemical smell. The room was clean, but the smell was pervasive after a few hours. I'm unsure of what it was, but woke up with a sore throat the following morning. The staff at the hotel was incredibly kind and accommodating on such short notice. The lobby area is very quiet. We didn't see any traffic. Decent accomodations, minus the aforementioned chemical. If you avoid the handicap accessible room, chances are that you'll enjoy your stay! read more

Excellent hotel that is super close to the Terminii station in Rome. We arrived by the Leonardo Express train from the FCO airport and was in Terminii in 30 minutes. The walk to the hotel was 5 minutes basically across the street from the station and down a narrow, dark, seedy road. When our lousy T Mobile phone GPS was slow at 2G speed, we could not locate the hotel and ended up calling the hotel to get better landmarks which the receptionist spoke perfect English! The location of the hotel is among other hotels but this one was better condition compared to the others next door. Service was excellent, we were greeted by Doreen who welcomed us and showed us everything including a bellboy to take our luggage upstairs. I wish I had brought some small Euro bills or coins for the bellboy but could not tip him as I only had big Euro bills.... Stayed 3 days and as other fellow Yelpers said about the complimentary beverages, it was true - all beverages were refilled the next day at no cost! Everyday, I loved the sparkling water, Fanta orange soda which has 21% real OJ and the real 100% orange juice bottles! Breakfast was excellent - great choice of hot, cold, cereals, breads, meats, veggies, and my favorite prosciutto with melon! They have super fresh squeezed OJ which they squeeze using a machine that cuts the orange and then juices it. They use both regular and blood oranges which makes a very visually stimulating juice product. The staff was amazing - very polite, professional and super attentive! I would definitely return to this Rome hotel as it was very convenient to make quick connections to the airport, metro, and buses. Try their small bar out - they have lots of different alcohol - I got to have real Italian Grappa which is a digestive liquor that is strong but great for digestion after eating a huge meal! For 5 Euro per drink - that's a bargain! And I could not leave a tip to the bartender because I did not have small Euros in hand and he could not break the 50 Euro notes... For a rate of 67 Euros per night ( special winter rate) - it was an excellent value! I left 20 Euros to the housekeeping staff because they took care of the room so well for 3 nights we were there. Next time, break the large Euro bills into 5, 2, 1 Euros so that you can tip the bellboy and bar manager. read more

On our Honeymoon trip to Rome we booked Hotel Diocleziano for two nights. We were originally going to bounce around Italy, so only booked two nights. We then changed our minds but it was too late and had to book another hotel for the rest of our stay....after the two nights at Diocleziano, I was super bummed to leave. When we arrived the gentleman at the front desk asked us what was the occasion we were in Rome. When we told him out Honeymoon his eyes lit up and immediately offered us a free upgrade to the exclusive 5th floor room. WOW Awesome balcony with a nice view. Large bed (not the most comfortable, but good enough. I figured out beds in Europe aren't always the most comfy.) Large bathroom, and a nice couch in the "living room" area. There were more highlights.... - FREE Mini Bar. WHAT?! .... YES! Stocked daily it included a juice, 2 sodas and 2 waters. That was awesome and came clutch when we needed water late at night and forgot to get at the store. - FREE Breakfast. They served the same thing every day but it got the job done! Bacon, eggs, potatoes, cold cuts, cheese, assortment of pastries, coffee, juices. Great selection. Especially the little Nutella packets...I took one for a snack later ;) - LOCATION .. it's litterally a block away from Termini station which was perfect for us. Also located around a couple of restaurants and a nice little bakery. Never felt unsafe in the area. - WIFI - They gave us two different access codes so we can sign on on our tablet AND cell phone. Stayed here for two nights. It was very convenient as it was located about a 5 min walk from Roma Termini station. Super close! The service was excellent and the staff (Doreen) at the front desk was very helpful with everything. We asked about restaurant recommendations, directions, etc. They were all fluent in English. Our room was on the second floor which is nice as we got to use the stairs or the little elevator. The hotel was located on a quieter street so we did not have any noise issues. The view was facing Gaeta so we got a nice large window with shutters. The room was very clean and they cleaned it plus replaced our towels every day. Loved the breakfast (it was better than eating the breakfast on the cruise). Lots of selections and we got fresh squeezed orange juice! Yum! I loved that the mini bar was free. We asked twice. It's FREE?! Yup & they refilled it everyday! Inside were two water bottles, pear juice, orange pop and coke. There was also coffee/tea in the room. Air con worked which was super important as it was like hot yoga in the city. The price was decent in my humble opinion. I would definitely stay here again if we ever come to Rome. read more

Fantastic hotel. We stayed in a double room for 150 euros a night. The breakfast was a nice perk (ours was included)-- you get all of your usuals (eggs, bacon, fruit, yogurt, pastries) as well as fresh-squeezed orange juice! Also, the minibar is FREE and gets refilled everyday. Don't forget to bring your complimentary drinks along in your backpack/bag as you walk about the city! The service was excellent, both the porter and the front desk employees were respectful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The room and bathroom were both comfortably roomy. We'll be back. Location is good, only a 5 minute walk from the Roma Termini station. Pro tip: the Baths of Diocletian and the National Museum of Rome are both very close by (as in, a 3 minute walk away), so don't miss those on your trip! read more

We stayed here for three days during our whirlwind tour of Italy. This hotel was pretty convenient for us to walk to from Termini as we rolled our suitcases along and it wasn't hard to find. It is not very fancy and isn't a luxury hotel but at least we didn't have to walk far and the location is excellent for getting around Rome. The rooms were alright and decent, and the breakfast in the morning was pretty good. As always in Italy, the coffee was fantastic:) There was a laundromat nearby which might come in handy for weary travellers. It was a decent place to stay and I had no problems here. read more

We visited Rome for our honeymoon, and booked Hotel Diocleziano for two nights. Upon our arrival, the the gentleman at the front desk asked us if we were in Rome for a special occasion, when we told him it was our honeymoon, he upgraded us to the best room in the hotel, the 'penthouse' on the fifth floor. We were very excited! Our room was spacious, and it even had a terrace! Yes! A terrace with a wonderful view of the neighborhood. The hotel provides its guest with free breakfast (pretty amazing, may I add), free mini bar (filled with water, juices and sodas ***Big smile***) and free wi-fi. The service was extraordinarily friendly, and the location is terrific! As its just a 2 minute walk from the termini station. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rome. read more

Honestly, one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in!! The hotel is very nice, the rooms are clean and the beds are super comfortable. However, this hotel's main attraction is the staff. The staff is the best I have ever seen. All of the staff members speak fluent English. The front desk staff, especially Doreen and Emilio, were funny and attentive and my family and I were so appreciative of this. They were very fluent in English and had no objections to translating for us when we needed help. Special Props to Emilio: While in Italy, I became very sick, pretty late at night. We weren't sure what to do, so my parents went downstairs to talk to the person on duty at the front desk, who happened to be Emilio. He was so helpful! My parents weren't sure where to take me, because the doctors' offices were closed. We didn't know if there was such thing as an urgent care or something in Italy, and we didn't know if we should go to the ER. Emilio explained that the ER would not be a good idea because due to the fact that medical care is free in Italy, the ER wait times are a little bit ridiculous. Emilio suggested that we call an on call doctor to come to the hotel. My parents explained that we weren't sure that our insurance would cover a doctors' visit in Italy. He suggested that we call our insurance company. However, my parents explained that they didn't think that they would be able to call the US because it was so expensive. Emilio taught them to use Skype to call the US for free. Anyways, we thought that this hotel was amazing. Would definitely go back to Italy just to stay here again, lol. read more

Had a 6-night stay at the Hotel Diocleziano. A great hotel located only a 5 minutes walk from Termini station.The neighborhood was ok, much better than one should expect, due to to all the negative reviews of the Termini Area. There were also some pretty good restaurant just a block away from the hotel, and a supermarket nearby. One of the best ways to explore a city is by foot, and we could easily walk to all the major sights from the hotel; including the Vatican and Basilica San Pietro. The staff were friendly and polite, especially the lady in the restaurant, that each morning came and asked what kind of coffee or tea we wanted. The breakfast was better than I have experienced in other European hotels, and included cereals, egg&bacon, ham and cheeses, and several choices of juice and pastry. The rooms were average in size, but perfectly clean. The towels were changed every day even when we did not put them on the floor. The bed was maybe a bit on the hard side, and the room was somewhat hot at night, but we could easily sleep with the window open without being troubled by a lot of noise Probably the most excellent feature of the hotel was the free minibar with soft drinks and mineral water, who was restocked daily. read more

We had a wonderful stay here. The location is really convenient for in&out travel. The staff is super nice which We did not find too common in this country. We were pleasantly upgraded to the penthouse suite which had a fun rooftop terrace! The breakfast buffet was great as well and the staff again- just super! The room was clean, modern, quiet and comfortable. The wifi worked great and they have a little gym and a few workstations to use in the lobby. The included breakfast and coffee was fine. The staff tries to be very helpful. It is a great place to stay, right near the Termini station but on a quiet street. I would stay here again. read more
