Booked this place whilst backpacking through Europe in November of 2016. This location was very central to the Roman Forum & Colosseum and with a decent price during off season, I decided to check it out. Location is great!!
The hotel lobby is on the 2nd floor, so you have to be be buzzed in through the front gate. There are stairs and an elevator, but it can't fit more than 2 people in it. The lobby is pretty generic, with a little candy dish and some maps. The concierge gives you a map at check-in and lets you know that you have to turn in your key when you leave. I found this to be typical of local hotels in Italy, so it didn't bother me.
What did, however, was that my heating unit didn't work the first night. The concierge helped as much as he could and finally got it working, though. The room is pretty bland. I stayed in a single, not a shared room. There is a mini fridge, coffee maker, sink, and a closet. Ceilings are high. Bathroom is decent.
There is a microwave, vending machines for snacks, & a free hot chocolate/coffee machine on the other side of the floor, which I used when I wanted to reheat some pizza, etc.
There is a variation of breakfast included in the meal, where you pick up a stamped paper and go down one block to a nearby cafe. You pretty much get a coffee, juice, a pastry or two & some yogurt. Not the best, but the staff at the cafe were very nice.
Overall, I didn't have much of an impression, because there wasn't much to this place. read more
